Uwai! I've been away from the forum for a while and my thread is over 4 pages~!!
I'm at my aunts home in California for Christmas vacation now...fortunately they have more than one computer with cable Internet...
OK, so let me post my opinions on some posts (this could be very long)...

so, elderberry, shall we give these guys a *real* translation of asu e no bashou...instead of subjecting them to that obvious amateur's work?
Yatteru! Yatteru wa! Um, actually...I assumed that it was your translation of 'Asu e no Basho' because you posted 'Hagane no Kokoro', so I didn't actually load the lyrics page for that song, but I don't suppose someone who gets the title wrong could have an outstanding translation anyway...

(<-- that's me turning into my narrow-minded self...) As usual, I've been procrastinating, so I haven't quite been able to translate 'Asu e no Basho' yet, but I'll just force myself to finish it today...
Hagane_no_tokage-san, you should just post your translation over here! (...Maybe we can convince this site to set up a lyrics section...

There's an attachment feature! Yay! Now I can just add it to the post instead of finding a file hosting site. Download below, try not to laugh yourself to death via hearing my rendition of "I Will". Sorry if my pronunciation sucks. I should warm up before recording next time. I usually sound better. >_<
I agree with
hagane_no_tokage-san!
Quistis-san, your singing voice is so nice!! Your version almost sounds nicer than the original one~(I didn't especially like Sowelu's vocals at first...) For someone who isn't Japanese (and assuming you don't take Japanese lessons or anything) your pronounciation isn't too bad! Wa...I want to try recording somethng too...(notice how eager I am to sing stuff when only 2 people on this entire forum know what I look like

)

Did you know that 2nd soprano is often one of the hardest parts to sing? Be proud of yourself!
Soprano II is probably one of the more underappreciated parts in choir...I don't think a choir could survive without it though...
Um, since you have a really nice, pretty soprano II voice, maybe you should try recording some Maaya Sakamoto songs!

(she actually has a good handful of songs in English too) Or you could try singing 'Pure Snow' if you can find an instrumental version (I love that song, but my pitch destroys it...

)...

and yeah, i thought you sounded great. i like the quality of your voice, it's very soft and velvety. 'i will' was a good choice to bring out your vocal talent. me, i do better with bouncy, genki songs...i love singing 'kesenai tsumi'...
I love 'Kesenai Tsumi' too!! The karaoke version sound so cool, too (I was surprised the first time I heard the piano-ishy stuff in the chorus~)! Kitade Nana is a really cool j-pop singer too...If you like 'Kesenai Tsumi' you should visit her Japanese website for samples of her other songs...('Utareru Ame' is really cool, too~)
The only problem is that my voice doesn't match! >_< I've always been a soprano I...it's fun being able to sing really high stuff, but the problem is that most of those are slow songs...but I like singing hyper songs! >_<
Interestingly enough, I can actually sing a few notes that are pretty low, but it's a really small range, I can't sing them loudly and it sounds kind of stiff...(maybe I just need some practice)...
QUOTE
Yes, I suppose my voice is more suited for softer stuff, but I've been told that I can sing a mean gospel.
Heh...The other problem with my voice is that it usually sounds kind of rough (not smooth and flowing like
quistis-san's...), and that doesn't really clear up unless I sing really loud...But if I sing really loud, then everyone will stare at me...(I don't like singing in front of people or if there is a possibility that anyone nearby will hear...)...and if I try to sing loudly, I lose whatever minimal soprano II range I was trying to manage...
Wahaha...It must be some kind of curse...I can't sing all the songs I like best...
...wait...why am I laughing? (Ahaha...I'm insane anyway

...)
Wa! I just realized I missed
hagane_no_tokage-san's recording!
*listens to song*
*listens to song a second time*
Wow, you have a nice singing voice too! (Everyone on this forum sings better than me...) It sounds like you kind of pronounced the words the way Kitade-san does on the ~raw "breath" version~...Very cool...
Hmm...my aunt probably has a microphone somewhere around here...I'll try to find it and record something when everyone else goes shopping or something...*glances around sneakily*
