i live right near a pretty big shopping center...but the 'best buy' store near my house is only open during normal business hours (what are they thinking??), so if i have time, i'll see if i can't score a mic tomorrow before work. i've been meaning to get one anyway...this is a good excuse. meh, and i'm late for work a lot anyway... i come in on a late shift, so management is pretty lax about punctuality for the most part...5 or 10 minutes hasn't been a big deal of late. so long as i arrive in time to work my flights, i'm fine.

well, i just gave it a shot...but you only get 2megs of bandwidth/month... i dunno how much is used per download...but it would serve to reason that a 3meg file would use up 2 megs of bandwidth in no time flat...if it doens't exceed that to begin with... deshou? i dunno where to find free webhosting where you really get decent bandwidth... maybe talk to bryantq and see how much bandwidth the attachments take...if it's not that much, maybe i can just send my files to you and you can attach them for me?

Do you have Windows XP? If so, there should be a sound recorder on there. Go to Start --> Programs --> Accessories --> Entertainment --> Sound Recorder. That's where mine is, at any rate. But it only records for 60 seconds so I have to stop and reclick record after the 60 is up to record for longer.

OK, so let me post my opinions on some posts (this could be very long)...



Yatteru! Yatteru wa! Um, actually...I assumed that it was your translation of 'Asu e no Basho' because you posted 'Hagane no Kokoro', so I didn't actually load the lyrics page for that song, but I don't suppose someone who gets the title wrong could have an outstanding translation anyway... (<-- that's me turning into my narrow-minded self...) As usual, I've been procrastinating, so I haven't quite been able to translate 'Asu e no Basho' yet, but I'll just force myself to finish it today... Hagane_no_tokage-san, you should just post your translation over here! (...Maybe we can convince this site to set up a lyrics section...)




I agree with hagane_no_tokage-san! Quistis-san, your singing voice is so nice!! Your version almost sounds nicer than the original one~(I didn't especially like Sowelu's vocals at first...) For someone who isn't Japanese (and assuming you don't take Japanese lessons or anything) your pronounciation isn't too bad! Wa...I want to try recording somethng too...(notice how eager I am to sing stuff when only 2 people on this entire forum know what I look like )




Soprano II is probably one of the more underappreciated parts in choir...I don't think a choir could survive without it though...
Um, since you have a really nice, pretty soprano II voice, maybe you should try recording some Maaya Sakamoto songs! (she actually has a good handful of songs in English too) Or you could try singing 'Pure Snow' if you can find an instrumental version (I love that song, but my pitch destroys it... )...




I love 'Kesenai Tsumi' too!! The karaoke version sound so cool, too (I was surprised the first time I heard the piano-ishy stuff in the chorus~)! Kitade Nana is a really cool j-pop singer too...If you like 'Kesenai Tsumi' you should visit her Japanese website for samples of her other songs...('Utareru Ame' is really cool, too~)

The only problem is that my voice doesn't match! >_< I've always been a soprano I...it's fun being able to sing really high stuff, but the problem is that most of those are slow songs...but I like singing hyper songs! >_<

Interestingly enough, I can actually sing a few notes that are pretty low, but it's a really small range, I can't sing them loudly and it sounds kind of stiff...(maybe I just need some practice)...




Heh...The other problem with my voice is that it usually sounds kind of rough (not smooth and flowing like quistis-san's...), and that doesn't really clear up unless I sing really loud...But if I sing really loud, then everyone will stare at me...(I don't like singing in front of people or if there is a possibility that anyone nearby will hear...)...and if I try to sing loudly, I lose whatever minimal soprano II range I was trying to manage...

Wahaha...It must be some kind of curse...I can't sing all the songs I like best...

Thank you for the compliments on my voice, Elderberry. And I'll get started on that Angelfire blog thing ASAP, tokage, as soon as I get back home (so I can try it out right away after making the account, otherwise I'll forget that I made one).

"Motherland" is a little hard for me because of the relative low notes near the beginning of each verse. I'll try Maaya Sakamoto, maybe, but the last few times I tried, I played it back to myself and didn't really like it.

Hopefully this karaoke thread won't see any more obstacles.
