Hey, everyone!
I can't really find a forum for art here, so...I guess this is the right place. I'm an artist in training. I wonder if you guys can take a look at my work, just for fun, I guess. I mean, my coloring is terrible. I'm a black & white artist. Maybe I should abandon the colors and work on the pencil sketch...

It's a great work there Tyna! I love your artworks! Good job! Keep it up! ^^
Tombow
@Tyna - Nice to see your artworks!!
Those are very nice!! Plese don't give up coloring!! I like yours!!
Hope to see many more posts with your nice artworks!! happy.gif
Tyna
Oh, wow, you guys are so nice! Thanks. I'll try to draw some FullMetal Alchemist picture since it is the FMA Fanworks place. I always tell myself I'll get around to that but I never do for some reason. Perhaps too lazy to learn a new way to draw. Yes, whenever I teach myself to imitate a manga artist, I have to go through this brutal training to see the artistic lines a whole new way.

But I love FMA enough to sacrifice some of my time for this.

In the mean time, look at some more!

Yeah it happens.. When you got bored of the same way of drawing, you'll draw something else instead. ^^ I use to be like that. Wow, the new drawings is beautiful! I love the postures! It has the hard shape pose! I love it! ^^

Oh, BTW, the first drawing didn't work out. I hope you can repost that. I would really like to see it. ^^
Tombow
^^ Me, too, the first link doesn't work for me. sad.gif
But, the bottom two are awsome!!
The second one got such a quiet air, yet I can almost feel the air is filled with full of emotion!!
And, wow, what a dynamic pose on the last one!!
Plus detailed drawings!! So cool!! cool.gif
Tyna
Thanks, you guys, you guys are so nice.

Yeah, sorry about that Christiana picture. It should work now. Try it.

Anyways, yeah, the pictures, besides the Yuna and any other characters that you recognize, the rest are my original characters from my novel.

I used to be this artist who is fascinated over drawing real life pictures, you know, with the cheek bones shading and everything. It just takes too long, that's all. But then, I suddenly discover the "joy" of manga/anime art, and now I'm hooked on it. Besides, I'm beginning to think drawing real life stuff is boring 'cuz nowadays, we have digital photo imaging to capture those, why bother with hands.

Anyways, look at some more!

See if you can recognize this person:

Oops, kinda obvious since his name is already in the...
Anyways, here's another scene from my novel:

And here's the girl, alone:

Wow Tyna! Those are really good! I love your work! biggrin.gif
Your style is very detailled and clear (as in non-blurry) I
You're really good with proportion an anatomy, I'm really impressed. (and envious laugh.gif)
About the novel your keep refering to, happy.gif any chance we could read it? *is kinda curious* wink.gif

BTW: about the coloring, I'm sure that, with some practice, your coloring skillz will match your drawing skillz happy.gif Just keep practicing!
Tyna
Hmm, funny, just the other day, someone told me my anatomy is not good enough and they're still out of proportion. I mean, I'm not gonna be a dumb person who gets offended whenever I'm not showered with compliments, but I'm just kinda frustrated that the person don't see me as "in training" and fret about the small details.

I mean, I know they're off by a bit...and I know my mistakes, I'm still practicing, though not trying too hard, but practicing, if you know what I mean.

Like...I want to be good, but not that good 'cuz art is not my whole life.

And the novel, of course...You can always email me so I can send you the lastest chapters...or start my story from the beginning at fictionpress.com. Search for Time Threads by Gemini-Princess.
KiorujiXeroxGurl
Guess you're just gettin better with the porpotions Tyna! ^^ I love all your drawings! It has it's own style. ^^ Keep it up! biggrin.gif

Oh, and yeah.. Of course! Practice makes perfect! Keep that in mind! ^^
Tombow
^^ Yap, the first link on post #4 is working now!!
Very lovely!! I like it!! happy.gif

And, the last post, the second link with scene from your novel is so nice!!
All your drawings, I can almost feel the drama behind them!!
Nice jobs!!
Tyna
Yay! You guys are so nice!

Let me put up more! (goes crazy with excitement)

This is gonna be the cover of my story, not really, just a thought, it won't really be like this exactly. It'll need to look more professional and more shading and stuff. This is just a ten-minute sketch of what I want it to be. It's like an outline, you know?

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a224/Gemenai/VinceAna4.jpg

And how about this random sketch?

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a224/Gemenai/Sketch4.jpg
Keoni
You know, there are people in this world that go out of their way to find something wrong with a picture. I guess, if you look at things close enough, you can always find something that isn't perfect. Just ignore those people and have faith in your own skills. You obviously have them happy.gif

As for the last 2. I like them a lot. They work well and obviously have a story behind them. Good job.
And thanks for the novel-link, I will definitely check it out happy.gif

Ailuro
Do you use guidelines before drawing? If you don't, that may be why you have proportion problems.
Tombow
@Tyna - Those are very lovely!! I can feel the "connection" between the caharacters you draw. It's nice, and warm, and caring, and very lovely!!
And, the last drawing, the girl is so beatiful!! Lovely face, lovely hair, lovely clothing!!
I think you should give her some beautiful name!! happy.gif
KiorujiXeroxGurl
I agree everything with Tombow! ^^ You should put a name to it too! ^^
Tyna
Ailuro, what do you mean by "guidelines"? Like grids to guide me or just pictures to look at. If you mean pictures, then I'm kinda really mad right now, 'cuz it's been overabundant. So many people on other sites told me my proportions are not good enough and I need to study more pictures. But hell, I've been doing that and just that. It's not like my drawings have hands that are 25 times the head or something.

I study a crap load of pictures. And I've alway been fascinated with the human proportions. Whenever I stare at a picture, I always take note of how the elbow is in this position when the person looks this way or bends that way or how the fingers curl up when the person did this or that or when the person sits, the legs looks like this or like that. Those are the notes I always use to apply to my own drawings. Yet some people still recommend me to go look at pictures. I mean, fine, do they have some recommended pictures they can post up here to enlighten me?

But you guys have been nice, thank you. I will practice harder.
Galorfilinde
Wow Tyna, your art is awesome! They're all so detailed and clear, and you're very good at drawing clothes and hair! Well, actually you're good at drawing any body part. I love the Yuna ones very much happy.gif And the last random drawing, the girl is so pretty!

I have a doll for drawing proportions, but I almost never use it. But if you think drawing proportions is difficult, maybe you should buy one. It can be helpful. But I really don't understand why so many people say your proportions aren't 'good enough' in the first place. I think they are. And even the greatest artists sometimes have drawings of which the proportions aren't perfect. Anyway, if you are satisfied about the proportions, why would you care about what others say? You're very good at drawing, and like you said: it's not that the hands are 25 times the head.

Guidelines as in:
IPB Image

Initial drawings of simple shapes to base your final drawing on.
Tyna
Looks like you're a professional! Did you draw those skeletons yourself? Yes, I do study skeletons, but there can only be so much...I mean, I can't find 25 thousand skeletons in 25 thousand different poses. So sometimes, you just gotta rely on the brain.

Anyways, how about some more?

Just like Yuna, I enjoy drawing the new Rikku more than old Rikku. Not that I ever draw her much. This was my first and last time I drew Rikku.

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a224/Gemenai/Rikku.jpg

And this random sketch is where I got the pose for the first link posted in this thread. See if you can guess where this art comes from. Yes, I drew it, but from something original and not mine.

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a224/Gemenai/Sketch2.jpg

And I don't remember if I put this one yet, but...oh, well, I'm beginning to lose track...

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a224/Gemenai/YunaLenne.jpg

Yeah, I also enjoy drawing Songstress Yuna, because I'm fascinated with her clothes. I mean, how do the folds on the outfit work like that? I don't get it. It's almost like an impossible design to actually make in real life. But on the computer and with the artistic mind, anything is possible.
KiorujiXeroxGurl
Cool! I love your drawings! It has it's own style! ^^ It ish really good! I love Rikku and Yuna's dress too! ^^ They're amazing! Wonderful job there! ^^

Yeah, I think Ailuro ish a pro.. ^^
Tombow
Oh, more drawings!!
I like the way you draw those costumes!! It's so cool!!
And, I agree with KiorujiXeroxGurl. You have very distinct style, and I love it!! biggrin.gif
Tyna
Hey, thanks, that's what I wanna hear all this time! And I know you guys been saying it a lot, to. I know I'm unique! And it shows in everything I do, I guess, even drawing!
