anyways i wanted to know who everyone thinks is the best anime mom.I think Trisha Elric is the best anime mom Because she's caring, loves both Ed and Al equal. She raised them practicly alone.

Yeah, Trisha only gets any recognition when there is an anime mom thread, eh? I guess that is expected in an FMA fanbase, but I think we all know who is the Trisha Elric freak 'round these here parts.

I like Trisha well enough, though she doesn't really get much time or recognition as her own character, and she doesn't really rate as an extraordinary mother, even though that is what she is primarily glorified for.

She's a sweet woman, although she seemed to love Hohenheim more than her own chilren...

When I tried to think of a 'best' mom, I noticed something. Lotz of moms die in anime, don't they? (and I'm even saying this on Mother's Day shame on me)

I'd probably have to say Kagome's mom. She's always taking good care of her two children, and she always has a wonderful lunch prepared for Kagome and her feudal era friends!

I'd say Chi Chi from Dragon Ball Z. I know it's childish, or stupid. But she really cares for her children, and is willing to blow people up with guns (And possible weapons of mass destruction) to make sure her kids live a normal life >_>

She cool and always know what to say and when Tohru is in trouble she always think aobut her mother.

Ash Ketchum's mom for sure...she is like a true mother....always embarassing her kid to make sure he does the right thing. "Don't forget to wear clean underwear everyday, Ash!"

I dont want to start something but i don't think she loves Hohenhiem more than Ed abnd Al because if she did don't you think she would have left them and went to look for him? And who would want to love a basterd like him.

Kagome's mom, all the way. Even with all the crap she puts up with (strange creatures wandering into her house and a lunatic dad), she's still there for the kids.

I didn't know Kagome had a mom (well i knew she did everyone does)but from what I heard about Inuyash i didn't think her mom was ever in the show.I've only seen about 5 episodes.

Yeah, she's in quite a few episodes where you see Kagome in the present time. And I agree she is an amazing mom, not only because she's always preparing yummy lunches for Kagome and her friends, and making sure Kagome's backpack is stocked with first-aid supplies , but because she trusts her 15-year old daughter enough to spend weeks at a time in the feudal era fighting youkai alonside a foul-tempered hanyou!

I think there are a lot of loving mothers in anime shows, and a lot of characters suffer the loss of their mother, because in Japan the mother-child relationship is a very close, very strong one. Mothers over there (and I know I'm generalizing here) tend to be more devoted to their children than in North American, where more mothers focus on careers and don't spend as much time with their kids. But Japan still has a more traditional culture, where a mother's job is to devote herself to her children.

I watched Inuyasha last night, and Kogomes mom was in it she did seem pretty nice.

(It was so funny when Kogome threw the lunch her Mom had made on Okitoki and then jumped on him, it was an accident but it was still funny.)

Definetly Kagome's mom. If Kagome killed someone she'd say, "Oh it's okay I'm sure you had your reasons." Well, maybe she's not THAT leaniant but she sure is cool. But Washu from "Tenchi Muyo!" is cool too. (Thus my name) Tenchi's mom was nice. I like Ash's mom. Brock's mom is funny.

I remember I used to spell Kagome as Kogome. I did that in my .hack// game and I got so far I couldn't start over and change it. But it's okay. Now instead of Kuh-go-mae it's Ko-go-mae. When I looked at the info thing on my TV for an InuYasha episode, they spelled Kagome Kagame. It was funny.

Trisha for me. AND IT'S NOT BECAUSE I'M A TRISHA FANGIRL. D: HONEST. Raising two children on your own, not knowing where on Earth your husband is, living with an illness, and all with a SMILE? Yeah, I don't think I need to state much else.

Some other personal favorites tho (and ones that haven't been said yet cuz I r trying to be different), Nadeshiko Kinomoto - Sakura and Touya's mom from Cardcaptor Sakura - who continued to watch over her children, even in the after life (and just plain pretty, yes I'm shallow, stfu), and Satsuki and Mei's mom from My Neighbor Totoro because........okay I don't have a reason for that one, I just like her.

Of course, there's Trisha Elric. Well, I don't think she loved Hohenheim more than her kids...it's just that Ed and Al have always been around (something she's thankful for, I'm sure), but Hoho has been gone for a long time, and she misses him.

Then there's Yuuri's mom from Kyou Kara Maou. You should've seen her when she was about to give birth to Yuuri...she wasn't complaining or wailing her lungs out. And she's always caring and looking out for her kids...and sometimes she's just funny. XD

But of course, I like Kyoko Honda, Tohru's mom, too. It's so sad that she died, but she was definitely a great mom, especially since Tohru would never let go of Kyoko's portrait long after she died. That must definitely mean something.

Trisha Elric - She's a very strong woman. It's so sad she had to day so early.

Trisha Ketchum - She's funny, and she takes care of her son, even though he travels somewhere on the other side of the world. And she can cook! XD *quotes characters of Pokemon*

Emiko Niwa - Probably the funniest Anime Mom. She sends out warning notes even before Daisuke can say if he even wants to go and steal it. (not that he has a choice) And always smiling. x3 I like her reactions in the Manga. xD
