I hate the name it is so weird. You can't even make a cool abreviation of it like PSP, Cube, or Rev. All that is going to come out of this name is bad "we" jokes and ones about kids going home to play with their wiis.
1)Why would you need to abreviate a 3 letter word?
2)If you're gonna make "Wii" puns then spell "wee" right.
3)Only little kids and morons are going to make wee jokes.
Well, the name is wierd; but then again all consoles make a wierd name at some point or another. But does the name really affect the gameplay, or graphics of the game? No. People will get used to the name, and the controls.
Damn, fugggin' strait.
Soon people will be saying
"Wow the Wii is way better then the PS3!"
Seeing as you could get both the other consoles for one PS3 I think it's already shot itself in the foot.
Nintendo have really outdone themselves in this situation, and i don't think a silly name could bring it down, it's risen up from the ashes; and is once again a strong contender with Sony and Microsoft.
I'd love this too be true but most people are to distracted by marketing. unless nintendo try and market the Wii efficently then Sony and Microsoft are safe.
That being said it looks like Sony is going out of it's way to screw itself. like the new Xbox there are to Verions. One at $599 and the other at $399. the cheapest one doesn't have a place for memory cards and the Harddrive is far smaller than the rpice would indicate. the Highend one, while having all the Jiggery-pokery is just to damn pricey. then in a bid to get the Nintendo fans Sony swipped the motion sensors and slapped them in the old controler. Sadly they didn't really think this through and only have one game that can use it.
All Sony can do is hope enough people are swayed by pretty Graphics.
