Asian kung fu Generation sings cool rock music. The ones that were on anime are the coolest. The song, "Harukakanata" is from anime "Naruto. The song "Rewrite" doesen'treally show any excitement.

i thought rewrite was an awesome OP for hagaren. AKFG's the best biggrin.gif i'd say kaigan doori, 24 ji, rewrite, and mayonaka to mahiru no yume are my favorites. denpatou, haruka kanata, mugen glider, my world, sono wake wo, and understand are really good too. gotoh is the only male singer than can yell and sing really high all in one song and still sound great....not to mention the rest of the band is awesome as well.
Felidae
As song as upbeat as Haruka Kanata wouldn't fit HagaRen, imho. Rewrite was great. ^^ It's also one of the reasons why I so miss watching new HagaRen episodes. Sure, I can listen to the song without FMA, or when I re-watch the series, but it's just not the same as when I'm waiting for what happens next.

AKFG is the only band that I ever called my favorite band for more than two months. ^^
I haven't heard all their songs, though. I've only got Kimi Tsunagi Five M and a few other songs I've downloaded... I would have gotten Sol Fa as a christmas present from my parents, but they couldn't find it... So... Yeah. Sometimes I wish I'd live in Japan.

Anyway, my favorite songs would be Rewrite, No Name, Flashback(It should be longer! ;-; ), Mugen Glider and N.G.S. But I love all their other songs, too.
Guest_Roy's Fire
I don't really think he lacks "excitement". When I first downloaded the song, he started off slow, and I thought how can this guy sing if he's bored? But then he started to scream "Riraito Shite". Someone who's yelling at the top of their longs, can't lack that much excitement. biggrin.gif
dtm0nk
i like rewrite better also...and wuts wrong with the audio down load section? onlything there is the agreement txt
TetraElemental-Alchemist
You guys should listen to "Harukakanata" though you may say "Rewrite" is better, and you should listen to "Melissa".

i actually downloaded all of their albums in a torrent in this forum Quistis88 directed me to biggrin.gif this is the site. go to forums->music->jpop. you'll have to look through the pages for it, i just checked and it's on page 3, called "asian kung-fu generation - complete disco." as for me, unfortunately, in the interest of space, i weeded out only the ones i liked after hearing once or twice. which would be 24 ji, denpatou, entrance, haruka kanata, jihei tansaku, kaigan doori, kimi no machi made, kimi to iu hana, loop & loop, mayonaka to mahiru no yume, mugen glider, my world, NGS, natsu no hi zanzou, re:re:, rewrite, rocket no. 4, shindou satoshi, sono wake wo, understand, and yuugure no kurenai. siren, compass, and mirai no kakera are still in limbo on my desktop tongue.gif but yeah, those would be my recommendations. happy downloading smile.gif

I just listened to Melissa a sec ago, it just switched to Rewrite. I love the way that the words echo in Melissa. Love it makes me melt. I love the musical interlued in Rewrite. I looked up more of their songs but there was error... sad.gif
Slashrose1010
SRy to sound like an idiot but I've only heard of these guys a few times. They sing in Japanese right (not that I don't like Japanese music). What kind of rock are they? Can you find their CD's in stores?
Carnal Malefactor
You know, I really liked the edit of "Rewrite" that was used for the 4th OP in FMA, but then I heard the full song, with that stupid ska part in the middle... yuk.

Ska? You mean the part where they say mebaete? Hmm? I have no clue what you mean...

Wow.. Thanks ^^
It's only ~300MB? I had expected it to be a much bigger file...

But... The tracker is down right now. X__x *favs the site* Hope it's back soon. Thanks again.

Ano...'Melissa' is by Porno Graffitti, not AKFG, although I love both bands a lot... happy.gif

afkg is awesome! biggrin.gif
my favorite songs are rewrite and kimi to iu hana.

I have that Anime Network On Demand thingy and they have a song there by them by them called Loop & Loop. They say it's recent but I wouldn't know since everytime I look I always get the same two songs... mad.gif

Roy's Fire, your signature picture is too big. Fix it.

Uh... how?
Quistis88
Use a different picture or resize it.
Slashrose1010
Wha? lol, same picture of L'Arc tongue.gif In my sig that is... anyways, I like AKFG. They are a good band with good beats and stuff. I listened to Rewrite because I heard it was from AKFG and an OP for FMA. Now I have like 5 or 6 songs on my playlist from them. They are a good band and would be a great introduction who are just starting to listen to J-Rock.

I like the song video but I can't find it anywhere. Can someone sent it to me as wmv file?

Don't get me wrong I love the band but I am very picky with my sreaming. The guy sounds like a complete try hard when he screams. Dosen't anyone agree? I mean don't you listen to screamo at all? I can't stand it. But I love the band and like it when he yells he has a great voice.

Karen just look for some torrents I'm sure you will find the video somewhere
Ronaldo Rodregez
AKFG is one of my favorite bands. At least J-Pop wise.
There's not too many of their songs I don't like, but I'd say Sol Fa was their best album yet.
Slashrose1010
You can possibly help AKFG come to the US. Sign this online petition and maybe in 15 years we can buy official, non-imported AKFG CDs laugh.gif Must see them in concert >__< So help out by signing the petition ^^ thanks
xrninja
agh. as much as i want to see them in concert, i don't really want them to get overly-popular here in America. it's pretty selfish, but it's kind of like when you listen to an underground band and you like it not only because it's good, but also because it's not on every station and every playlist...and then some stations pick it up and suddenly everyone's talking about it and it's being publicized everywhere. unsure.gif

laugh.gif I am would be afraid of that as well, but some how I don't think skin heads and wangstas' are going to buy AKFG CDs

I hate it [WORLD APART]. It's no where as good as Blue Train or Blackout in my honest opinion. It just seems so mediocre witht the strum pattern and melody overall, and no, I could care less about Gotoh Masufumi's voice (see Mirai no Kakera). Still amazing drumming by Ijichi Kiyoshi. cool.gif

I would have to agree. It isn't an outstanding single at all. I just DLed all three songs from the single release and I actially like Eien ni the best. Even that one doesn't sound that great. I thought Uso to Wonderland was pretty bad. It sounded like they were going for a The Nepenthes sound with bad vocals and not as dark.
JoshP1389
I don't know why... there's something about this song that makes it stoop down to the Pillows' [current] level of mediocrity.
Slashrose1010
It just isn't as dynamic sounding as their other songs like Rewrite, Sono Wake Wo, Rocketto Number 4, Kona Yuki and Kimi to iu Hana. I dunno, I like those songs far more than I liked this single, though. It was just like you said, average.

Merged with that other "Asian Kung-Fu Generation: World Apart" thread.

I haven't been impressed with AKFG's latest stuff.

Quite So.
AKFG is Nifty For A While, But After Listening To Them Over And Over, I Just Go Back To Planet Smashers and DJ Shadow ( No Im Not A Goth, I Just Think Shadows Music Is Different.)
If AKFG Dosen't get There Act Together Soon And Release Some New Songs In Japan (I Am The Import King) I Will Just Give Up Hope.

Here we go, a 5 minute chunk of writing about FANCLUB, their 2006 album...

What can I say? Well not much to be honest. I'm running through the album first time through on the 9th track, Senseless, and I'm liking what I'm hearing so far. As much as I hated Woruldu Apparttu [WORLD APART] (please excuse my mediocre/amateur romaninization or whatever) I began to lose slight hope into what this album was going to sound like, but wow, as I'm entering the 10th track [Gekkou], I'd say this is truly their best album yet to date. (Isn't it great having Japanese friends with the same interests as yours?) As a conclusion, this is a mix of all their works/skills combined into one album with slight experimentation of timing and other genres.

I'll be willing to share with others this album.

Does anyone think if they sand "Rewrite" in English, it would have sounded terrible? I seen the translation and it really sounds stupid. But

in Japanese it pwns.

Sorry, I meant if they sang "Rewrite" in English.
