I haven't poasted here for quite sometime.. Now I'm here to post some artworks eye torture which some of you might not have seen..

Here goes, what a Royai addict (me) visualises then puts them down on paper..

Lust!Riza and Greed/Pride!Roy, I used black and dark blue markers to colour the clothes because my black colour pencil have shrunk to 5cm. I bought a new box of colour pencils a few days later. I was confused which humonculus should Roy be, so I made a vote in Royai thread and the results tie.. *sigh*
They brought me so much joy.. Aww..

Hi everyone, just passing by for a break from all the busy stuff I'm going through this week and it might continue till next week... I might go insane if I don't do something enjoyable.

I know this is kinda off-topic but I just want to know what software you use with your graphics tablet. I first tried out Adobe Photoshop CS2 when I first got it but I found it hard to use so I switched to MS Paint which I found easier but the thing is it never seems to satisfy me even if it's easier, but coloring is a hell lot harder in MS Paint than Photoshop. Would you know any program that has the ease of MS Paint but has good features and has the ease of coloring, I mean it has layers and other "tricks" like in Photoshop.

I'm just dying to draw something nice using a tablet... Because I had a dream again last night... And it's one of those special ones. I'll tell more about it when I'm done drawing it.

@ Ratzenheich: Other programmes? Have you tried Corel Painter and OpenCanvas? I heard of them from someone.. I think photoshop CS2 is still the best software for tablets IMO.. You can go here for tutorials..

I don't find Photoshop CS2 easy for drawing, but it's the most powerful image editing tool. I'll try to get OpenCanvas and CorelDraw.

BTW, here's what I drew a while ago in school during free time since there was no teacher during that period. Took me 20-25 minutes to finish. I tried to draw that as fast as I can with mininal erasures... I just want to improve my drawing speed. So sorry if there are a lot of mistakes in the drawing. Please feel free to point them out. I'll greatly appreciate it. I'll try to fix it up and upload it again if it's better.

And here's a doodle I made using a new program I found called "SmoothDraw". Took me 10 minutes to finish. I know it's just unbelievably horrible so please forgive me if I deformed Al's face (I can take it out anytime, just tell me... angry fangirls...). I'm just having trouble with drawing lines using the tablet... It's too sensitive and it's just super hard to draw curving lines!

The last one is a drawing I made last friday. I already uploaded it in the site's gallery last weekend and I'm just uploading it here now since this is a "Show me your artworks" thread. This one took nearly one hour to finish including the shading.

EDIT: The SmoothDraw I have is only a trial version so I can't save it. Sorry if I just used "print screen". Oh... I'll also just upload 3 drawings which I already uploaded last week in my thread but it got bumped down easily because many people posted. So I think you haven't seen them yet. Sorry if 2 of them aren't FMA. I just wanted to try something different. The Winry and Ed drawing is supposed to be Photoshopped but I can't find enough time to start editing, I like to edit in one long, continuous session.

I got the idea from a FMA fan art by Waterlily in DeviantART. I tried to make a similar scene but with Winry in it but I failed...

Yes... I know the line art is horrible if you look at it closely. I tried tracing it from my scanned pencil line art. I used a 6 px brush for the line art... I only followed the cell-shading tutorial of Deji-chan in DeviantART. I should have used a 3-6 px pencil for the line art! The placing of shadows is also bad... I don't know where to place shadows, sorry. I made the background myself and I know it sucks so much! But please, just bear with it.

I'll try to make better fan art next time! But for now this is the best I can do... I just hope you enjoy it!

BTW, it took me nearly 6 hours to finish this. Quite a long time... I'm sure those pros can do this in an hour or less. Took me around 30-40 minutes for the pencil line art which I drew in school last week. I started editing it last sunday for around 4 hours and the remaining 1+ hour I spent tonight was to finish it.

As for the pencil, I use a regular #2 pencil, and mix in a bit of other types. Nothing really fancy.

Here's the drawing I did last monday and here's the Photoshopped version which I started last night and finished this afternoon. I spent more time on this one and I didn't rush anything except for the background. I tried to pay more attention to detail this time, Yay! Just please give me some critique. I want to know what's wrong so I know what to avoid next time. I really want to make a better artwork next time.

Anyways, the last picture is the one I did last week before a freaking super strong typhoon killed the electricity for nearly 4 days. It was rushed and I'm not quite satisfied with it. I think you can easily figure that out... like Winry lacking eyebrows. I just uploaded this just now here because I forgot to upload it in this section, but I uploaded it in the Gallery's Fanart / Drawing section immediately after finishing it.

Thanks - I was especially happy with how the shading turned out. These two pictures were my first attempt at drawing anime-style characters. The whole point of animation is to create convincing looking people without actually attempting to reproduce every little detail of the human face, but I ended up taking twice as long trying to imitate the style rather than actually using it. Lol.

Hopefully, it will start to come a little easier after some more practice!

That looks really nice! Especially the shading. Wonderful job! And that was your first time drawing anime?! I wonder when I'll be able to draw like that. I really want to upload stuff in DeviantART but I'm dwarfed by all those pros I see. They're littering DevArt with tons of really good artworks. If you look at my works... I'm definitely not in their league.
