The member has never been active, he/she pretty much made an account and never even came back to the forum ever since.

So? Can I steal the name or not??

See, that's the thing... how do we know that that member never came back to the forum??
Just because that member does not log on, it does not necessary mean that member does not visit this board any more.
Maybe the person comes here and reads the posts, but NOT logging on.
That does not necessarily prove that that member has abandoned this board... that's what I'm getting at.

Besides, as I posted before, from what I see, I don't think the board will delete inactive accounts.
This issue was raised before, and the "
big boss" came on here and said "no."
But, just "if",
if the board starts deleting inactive accounts, I hope it would be clearly announced, so that in case there are members who visit the board but do not log on, yet still consider themselves to be the member of this board, they would have fair chances, like, giving certain period of time to "log on" if they do not want to be deleted, hence preventing them from getting deleted as inactive accounts.
And, further, should the board start doing that, I hope the board will apply that policy to everyone, fair and square.
To me, just because some of us wants that particular board ID, that is not a good reason enough to "bend the rules" and delete that person's account, so that some other member can "steal" that name, IMO.
Just my humble opinion.
