would you like it if he said 'Can i eat him?' more agin tongue.gif he never really said anything before this either, maybe it's because Lust is'nt there to protect him anymore =_= and yes sadly Lust...poor Lust... why does all the homunculi that i actually like get killed off all the time!! =___=

I dunno....Gluttony's 'can I eat him' is almost as strange/annoying as all of his 'scared' and Lust comments. I just think that some insight on Gluttony's half would be interesting. I do believe he has better language skills...just refuses to use them. Like how a child wines and half the time you can't understand them....

i know! the last time we ever saw him was all the way back to episode 38: With the River's Flow!! but my opinion...i really don't care what happens to that palm tree >_>

You speak like a Envy hater... so you wouldn't be a fan of the chibi Envy pancakes I'm going to make? (No seriously, food color+batter poured in different shapes= faces. It's quite fun, I'm going to try FMA characters this week.) Knowing Envy he's probably up to something or other...

Lust is still pined to a wall, I have a strong feeling that she won't be with us very long
She only lasts for three more episodes (Sealed Humonculus) where Lust helps Ed defeat Sloth, but is sealed when Wrath finds her weakness. (Her weakness wasn't her bones, but her locket, which may or may not include a bone or something that remained of her body)
Lt. Misha Mustang
Her locket? I thought it was the oboruous (sp?) sign.

See below where I got my info from. Warning! It can be a big spoiler if you haven't seen the whole series!!!
Look under Anime to your left and go to whatever episode you like, this one will be called sealed homunculus
Yeah, awesome episode! I have a question, though. What were those Al minions made out of that Hoenhiem created? Were they like ice, or what? That kinda confused me.

My best guess is Hohenheim is an ice alchemist. For the geekily inclined, this means that he is able to quickly sap the heat out of localized regions of space and crystallize the moisture inherent in the air. Wheeeeeeeeee!

Personally, if I were going to have some extravagant magical way of killing people, I'd be something as broken as a kinetics alchemist. You know, being able to manipulate the kinetic energy states of matter. It's lke telekinesis except better since I could arguably finely manipulate kinetic energy down to the atomic level. That there's no question of. But the real question (and one I've been thinking over) is iff Gluttony fell off something high, a cliff or instance, would his stomach bounce him back up when he hit the bottom? Comical yes...the idea came to me after I read a fic where Wrath tried to use Gluttony as a trampoline... 0.o

I think Envy is a fun character in general...it's probably just because I like making evil characters myself. (Can you imagine creating Envy's character?) He may be sarcastic, a murderer, and mentally unstable, but his character is much needed.

Hohenhiem of Light. LIGHT!!! Not Hoho-papa of ice, I think it was gotten down a few pages ago. Though he could probably control ice too if he wanted. But that wouldn't go with the whole light thing now would it?

Anyhow kinetic sounds pretty interesting, fun too. But I can't help but find Kimblee's way one of the most appealing...there's nothing like a good boom.

No it's ice. Light is just his nickname, since he is named after a real-world figure. Besides, ice is the easier explanation because "congealed light" is just too stupid and cheesy. He formed ice crystals to stop Gluttony's charge, formed animated ice statues in the form of Alphonse and threw a shard of sharp ice. Said shard of sharp ice conveniently cut upon Dante's dess and conveniently revealed a plot point.

And another Kimbley fan! I never thought I'd see the day! I like him because he's just out to have old pyromaniacal fun. Can't blame the guy. "Not enough sulfur..."

Anyway, yes why not kinetics? That's what you're doing anyway when you're "adjusting the oxygen concentration in the air," just changing the motion of air particles to become more compacted. (Roy just creates an oxygen vapor "fuse" through which a spark can travel to the oxygen vapor "bomb.") Ed causes stone spears to shoot out of the ground at his enemies, and Louis simply changes the kinetic energy of the blocks that he hurls (either that or he's monstrously strong). And that's what you'd be doing anyway when you shape an object, the bulk movement of molecules, like molding clay.

*clap*
*touch*
*flare*
*victim flies backward at a few thousand miles per hour*

*clap*
*touches nearby car*
*flare*
*car gets flung in an arc*

*clap*
*touches victim*
*flare*
*rip victim in half*

Heck once you get good enough, you could probably just move the air itself. Explosively suction air out around a victim. If it doesn't instantly tear out his lungs; the oxygen will diffuse straight out of his blood, into his lungs and out into the lower-pressure vacuum. This is basically oxygen exchange working in reverse of what normally happens. Oxygen diffuses across the membrane of lung into the blood usually because it's moving from a high concentration to a low one. Creating a vacuum around the atmosphere of your opponent should do exactly the opposite.

According to NASA, being in a vacuum will knock you unconcious in a manner of seconds. You actually experience this to a small degree when you get up too fast and the blood rushes out of your head. This is because your head won't stay conscious long if it is deprived of oxygen. Hold the vacuum for about 6-10 seconds and release it, causing the air you suctioned out to be explosively sucked back in. Let's see Mustang try to ignite his fleme powers inside of a vacuum and try to stay conscious at the same time.

oh and just to prevent from someone getting my thread for episode 46, im going to post my thread up EARLY!! i dont care what anyone says about its too early! or w/e...so yeah im going to post my thread up early like maybe on the wednesday of next week (the week after THIS week)

QUOTE(theothersin @ Jan 29 2006, 09:09 PM)

Wow...two weeks worth of talk-back threads taken by newbies...*pulls out signiture mauling book* If anyone takes my thread...they'll be very sorry....afterall, it's the only one I'm hosting.
Note: My signiture mauling book isn't very signiture here is it? That's good, I haven't had to beat anyone with it on this forum. Fear the wrath of my large book, make me angry enough and I shall hit you over the head with it. Yes, I'm evil and horribly critical, but it's fun.

@Jen_Elric, and FullMetalAlchemist01FAN, and theothersin, I hear you, and I agree.
Desparate situation calls for some desparate measures, I think.

So, here is my suggestion to all designated talk-back thread hosts for upcoming FMA episodes, including ed's numbuh 1 fan (ep 45,) FullMetalAlchemist01FAN (ep 46,) Nepharski (ep 47,) vfdj42 (ep 48,) theothersin (ep 49,) and Jen_Elric (ep 50):
But, especially, ed's numbuh 1 fan, because episode 45 is coming up this Saturday, PLEASE READ the below...

I'm suggesting to open the talk-back thread few days early, like, on Wednesday.
And, preferably, the first post contains some note to others to refrain from posting spoilers, or better yet, NOT to post till one day before the episode airdate.
Like, in a big red letter, "This is the designated talk-back thread for episode xx.
This thread will open officially on Friday. Please DO NOT POST untill then." Or something like that. biggrin.gif

I anticipate the thread would sink down while waiting for Saturday's air-time.
Please DO NOT DOUBLE POST in order to bump the thread.
(I don't want you to get in trouble needlessly by double posting.)
I will make sure to post (and hence) bump your talk-back thread on Friday early morning to the top of first page, if needed, and then on Friday you can officially open your talk-back thread to general public for discussions, if you like it that way.

This way, I think, if anyone other than designated hosts open the thread BEFORE Wednesday (before the designated host opens his/her talk-back thread for that Saturday's episode,) then we have enough time to let the UNdesignated talk-back thread author know of the existance of the thread host list, and deal with the situation in orderly manner.

And, of course if anyone opens any episode thread AFTER the designated host opens his/her talk-back thread, we can ask mods to close UNdesignated one as the duplicate thread.

As usual, this is my suggestion, and I welcome and appreciate suggestions for other ideas and means to prevent any further "mishaps".
If you have any suggestions, please DO NOT POST it here and start the "thread" discussions here, but please post on the "the list thread" to continue this discussion there, so that this discussion will not overshadow the episode 44 discussions here. (Thank you!! )
(I'll post this on "the list thread" also.)

And, as the public service announcement, the following is the list of designated thread hosts for the remaining FMA episodes:

List of designated thread hosts to open talk-back thread for the remaining Fma episodes:

Ep 45: ed's numbuh 1 fan
Ep 46: FullMetalAlchemist01FAN
Ep 47: Nepharski
Ep 48: vfdj42
Ep 49: theothersin
Ep 50: Jen_Elric

(Note: This does not includes Final episode - episode 51. Please do not post and ask to be designated as the thread host for the final episode.)

If you are not the designated talk-back thread starter, PLEASE honor these designated hosts, and please refrain from opening talk-back threads for the remaining FMA epispodes. Thank you!!

Ahem... Sorry for the digression!! And now, please continue with the episode 44 discussions...

No..that was not Lyra on the floor at Dante's place...that was just the body of the previous person Dante inhabited. Don't forget, Hohenheim said to Dante, "So, Lyra is the name of that body.." or something along those lines. So, Dante switced her soul from that old woman's body to the body of Lyra...which would have killed Lyra anyway.

I kinda meant that Dante switched souls with Lyra. An then killed Grandma form.

That makes more sense. smile.gif
Or, maybe Dante's old body dies when "the soul" moves to Lyra's body, and the old Granma becomes soul-less?? Or not??? biggrin.gif
Full Metal Elf
Well...I don't think we actually know what happened with Lyra's soul. It's never mentioned what happens to the original souls of the bodies of the person they switch with...
...in the next episode you learn that Hohenheim does the same thing....and never once has it been mentioned what happens to the original soul of that body and where it goes....unless I missed something
So....we can't be sure if Lyra's soul was simply "pushed-out" of the body and she "died" that way...or if her sould was put into the old woman's body.

Yeah, I was thinking about that, too. I agree that Lyra's soul in Dante's body might died that way.
Either way, Dante, or whoever/whatever he/she/it is in Lyra's body now, is a murderer and evil!! huh.gif
Ed-Al-Win Fan
Well I don't believe I put my input on the episode yet (lol).
Anyways I think this is now turned into one of my fav episodes, I really liked it. The whole Ed and Al reactions to seeing their father, I see Al has turned into the forgiving one easily, while Ed will still envy the dad...You can tell that Hohenheim is really feeling very bad, for all that happened around him that he missed, I noticed his expression through the whole episode when seeing his sons. :sighs: This a very touching/sad anime show, but I love it! (lol)...I definitely can't wait for this upcoming episode...smile.gif

PS: I was a little confused with the Lyra and Dante situation, but thanks to you guys that posted on it, I think I got a better understanding of what happend

But one thing I am a bit confused about is with Ed searching through his mother remains and pulling 'I don't know what', I guess I'll just have to watch the episodes and see (lol)

If the soul had simply died in the air. Or died once in the old lady. Why would Dante have to rip it to pieces?

Oh I forgot to mention. With the christain church discovery and the new-found knowledge that Dante created the Sins. I have found that the series has begun to resemble Dante's poems.

^^ Yeah, I agree with your point about Dante's remain (body.)

And, yes, that Christian church showing up in the anime stor-line was a bit of surprize too.

Yes,7 sins are named after sins from Dante Alighieri's poems...
