Metal Alchemist S. Snyder
Cool but will it be japanese or english because i don't have a clue what they are saying when they speak in japanese. cool.gif
AliCat
Um...something tells me it will be in English. I mean, my logic doesn't always make sense but that seems obvious to me.

My question is will we get a special edition copy like they did in Japan with the cool box and all the goodies or will we just get the base movie and nothing else? Personally, I'd fork over the money for the special edition. I would have done so in the first place but I don't have a region 2 player or $100 to kill right this second, but I will by October ((yay money...)).
Jedi28
I was wondering that as well, I'd pay for a special edition.
tinlunlau
still comtemplating over whether i will buy the hong kong 2 disc set dvd.
seems to be lacking in the special features department. so far, only a 20 minute press conference in Hong Kong with the producers of FMA and trailers are confirmed on the special features disc.
Chiyo-chan

The movie is coming out (here in america) October 3, 2006 just to let you. Just look at this link if you don't believe me. (You might have to copy and paste.)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fullmetal_Alchemist_the_Movie:_Conqueror_of_Shamballa
I am the Only sister Elric
I have a quote from Vic...
Now that Fullmetal Alchemist recording is over, we are putting the finishing touches on the FMA movie, which is scheduled for release October 3. My attention is on several new series I am working on, the biggest one being ADV's Macross. I am playing Hikaru Ichigo opposite the one and only Mari Ijima. She played Minmay in the original Japanese version twenty year ago and is reprising her role, this time in English. Cool huh! Don't miss it.
Seeeee.... he even says its relesed on October 3rd! HA! *POUNDS ON THE KEY BORD* I was right! ph34r.gif

My apologies if this has been asked before. Since the DVD of the movie has recenlty come out, is there a boxset/special edition of FullMetal Alchemist due out at some point? Because I would gladly wait before buying the FMA DVDs if there was one coming out. Does anyone know?
Tombow
@Triss Hawkeye - The one I know is FMA Premium collection that came out in Japan and including FMA ep 1 - 51. plus the movie. I don't think it come out in the U.S. though (yet..)
Some othes asked the same questions, so you're not the only one wondering about it. ^^

If we hear any news on DVD release, it would be posted on FMA DVD release news thread. smile.gif
Triss Hawkeye

Taking out my own post now. ^^
His Name is Unknown
While I was surfing the web I just happened to come across the following:

http://www.fullmetalalchemist.com/season1_1/index.html

The site doesn't go into specifics, so I wonder if this is just a re-release or if any new features will be included?

Regardless, for the price ($50), it's a pretty good deal if you haven't already picked up the series on DVD.

Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up! biggrin.gif
Tombow
@His Name is Unknown - Thanks for bringing the news to everyone's attention. ^^
Yes, it's reported on FMA DVD Release news thread.

FMABox set (Hyb) I comes out on Sept. 18 2007, and

FMA Box set (Hyb) II comes out on Nov. 13, 2007. ^^

I will add your post to that thread in a while. biggrin.gif
His Name is Unknown
*Sigh*, I knew I couldn't have been the first one to find that info. Next time I guess I should look a little harder!

I checked the first couple pages, but in all honesty, the FMA anime forum is becoming a bit of a tangle. rolleyes.gif

All that to say - thanks for being gracious, and merge away!

By the way, I did a little more research and this release does appear to be nothing more than a repackaging of the original DVDs at a reduced price...

Not that this is a bad thing!!! laugh.gif
Tombow
@His Name is Unknown - Yap, you said it... it is a repackaging of past DVD releases. laugh.gif
But, for those who haven't yet bought FMA DVDs I guess it is another way to own official FMA DVDs. ^^
(And, yeah, I agree about the FMA anime forum being a "jumble" and I apologize.
We are slowly working on unjumbling it.) ^^

ETA: Sept. 6

Sweet! But all the volumes have already been released. Don't you mean the box sets? It seems as though they're being released in 2 month intervals.

The volumes are being re-released for some reason. I haven't been keeping up with FUNi, so I don't know why... It ticks me off, though. I went to buy another copy of volume six (mine is all screwed up) and Best Buy said that volume six hadn't been released yet. I knew it was being re-released in December, but it pissed me off that the guy was being a jerk and saying it had NEVER been released before December. -.-
Shirai
Yeah, and for some reason FUNi's calling them "The Viridian Collection", what the heck does that mean?
(On Amazon)
Celeste Nayamashii
Sounds to me like they're just trying to milk fans for all they're worth ._. I say go with the boxsets. They're cheaper in the long run.
Shirai
You said it. At Best Buy One Volume = 20$, But 4 Disc Boxset Costs 40$ about 50% Off! teehee.gif
