The title... couldn't think of anything else for it. There's no commonuse short japanese pseudonym for it like the yaoi and yuri threads have, so this will have to do. (No, not Hentai. It's not a hentai thing, dangitt!)

So, just the same as the yaoi and yuri threads (The yuri thread still refuses to live! T^T) a gathering thread mostly for discussion and sharing of pictures. But anything related is encourage, so discuss favorite series, share fanfiction, debate over pairings, whatever.

I'll confess to being a total nut for Mars. Angsty Shoujo teen romance to the extreme. It's usually not the kind of thing I like, but there's something about it that makes it so awesomely good! (The well done angst... maybe?)







Fanon couples are totally acceptable too. I happen to be a Naruto/Hinata nut, even though I'm not a Naruto fan at all.

Doujin, Dojin or Dohjin- rough literal meaning of "Literary circle" or "Clique": The term enveloping all independently published japanese works, including music, software, novels, and most popularly, independent comics. The more popular wide use of that term is meant to refer to independently published comics, particularly fan works, which have huge followings. These types of doujinshi while falling in a legal gray area, are immensely popular and have many conventions dedicated to their sale. While sometimes legal action is taken most artists turn a blind eye to amateur authors creating and selling small-time fanworks of their characters, and some embrace it as a new form of publicity. There are even manga authors that read and enjoy doujin works of their own series, for example the author of Marmalade Boy based one of her illustrations based on a doujinshi she read that was shonen ai themed.
