People say that there's no past of Gluttony whatsoever, I know some though. I've been rewatching all the FMA episodes to fully understand them, and in Episode 1, when Ed is fighting the huge bird and the chimera... Lust says to Gluttony
"Blatny, that child is the one"
Gluttony's non-homunculus name is Blatny i think.

Gluttony is a single panel comic strip created by Tom Wilson, an American Greetings executive.
Gluttony is an obese, ape-like, beady-eyed, almost featureless character who seems to have no job, hobbies, or girlfriend, just a menageire of cute pets: Fuzz, a small white dog, Sid, a cat afraid of mice, Josh, a discouraging parrot, Goldie, a fish, and Wack, a duck. The intense cuteness of the cast is juxtaposed with the endless stream of misfortunes which befall Gluttony. It is perhaps this combination of iconic cuteness and identifiable misery which makes this strip so popular despite its lack of plots and a human cast.
Gluttony first appeared in the 1968 collection When You're Not Around, published by American Greetings. The newspaper strip began in June 1971. In 1987 the strip was taken over by Tom Wilson II.
The 1982 Christmas special Gluttony's Gift, which contained the Harry Nilsson song "Give, Love, Joy", won an Emmy.

Yo, **does a little jig**
Anyway. It would make sense if he were a cannibal at one point in his past life. That or have an unhealthy obsession with food that stemmed him to move onto...more 'interesting' forms of food. Although I'm still wondering who made Gluttony...and what body part was sacrificed to make him (I'm guessing the stomach?) I also think that Gluttony has 2 stomachs or something...Perhaps from his creator?

2 stomachs? I think it's because of his over-eating

No, I've been rewatching FMA episodes and reading translations and stuff... And Gluttony has a sad story..... Roze does too, even though people seem to hate Roze.
Gluttony was created by Dante PURELY so that he can eat things to create the Philosophers Stone for her. No othe reason. He's attached to Lust probably cause they've been together so long. He probably has no past, and definitely no future. He's just there for Dante's personal use.

On a side note if Dante activated Lust's orousbourous tatoo (Like Gluttony's in 50) the series might have gotten quite interesting.

I like this theory because it adresses what the Homunculus is in real alchemy. An artificially created human. Gluttony, by this theory, was the only homunculus who was NOT the result of a failed human transmutation. He was, in fact, a success.
And no I don't think he would like milk. Milk is an alkaline and would neutralize his wacky acid tongue. Or is it a neutral? I think it's alkaline....
Huh. A dehumanized Lust. Does anyone else smell citrus?

All homunculus were stated by Dante as products of human transmutation, Gluttony just like Pride was also a product of human transmutation. No one in the anime said otherwise.

Yeh, I think Gluttony's past would have been similar to the others, although stranger probably. Plus, I really don't think he's been together so long with Lust, as she's one of the newer Homunculus, she can't have been that around for more than 15 years (how long was Scar's brother working on bringing her back to life before the Ishvaal war?).

I like the people I've been hanging out with for the last fifteen years.
Guest - I miscommunicated, excuse me. I should have said that, by this theory (and the reason I like this theory), Gluttony was not the result of a failed resurrection. Of course he's the product of human transmutation - just not a failed one, since he is what Dante set out to create. It would also somewhat explain why he's the least human of them all.
Of course this is all just theory (and Gluttony's appearance can be chalked up to anime stylization), but it's an appealing theory at least. The only thing I don't like about it is how many of the hommunculi are "related" to Dante, if this be the case.
Greed, Envy, Pride, (Gluttony maybe)...er actually I guess that's not that many.
The Elrics get Sloth and Wrath. Lust is the only one without a sibling in this scenario.
Interesting side-note: Wrath was older than Sloth by not very much, due to the fact that he'd been created before Trisha Elric died.
Hmm, well anyway, as much as I like this theory, I just thought of something else. What if Greed and Gluttony were supposed to be tha same person. I mean what if they were each the product of separate attempts on Dante's part to resurrect the same person? It could explain why Gluttony was averse to Greed sealing chamber (of course, that could also be explained by the fact that there was a huge binding array all over the walls of that room - but on the other hand the room and array had been damaged), because they'd both be bound by the same bones. Also, the sin of Gluttony is very similar to the sin of Greed. What do you people think?

The only person who knows a homunculi's name is Scar, who knows Lust. But Lust's name is still a problem to slove. Plus the only the only two Homunculus whose pasts I know are Envy and Lust. Nothing about Gluttony what so ever.

Now this is my kind of board.lol.Ok so here's the scoop:
Gluttony's only purpose for creation was to create the philosopher's stone. Gluttony would eat people and within him carry the bodies and souls of the people he ate. Hohenheim would then create the philosopher's stone within Gluttony and use it for his own benefit. I think he was created by Hohenheim and that he gave up eyes, a tongue, and a stomach.
thats not a theory either.Thats info from the manga.

Hmm...well, we know that Gluttony in the Manga was created by the Father as the 'Fake Doors' or 'Fake Gate'...and failed.
When Gluttony swallows Ling, Ed and Envy, Ed gets them out by transmuting himself through human transmutation and opening the real Gate.
As far as Anime Gluttony...hmmm...we don't know anything about him. I guess he's not important enough?..lol

They never say who created him, only that he was created for an explicit purpose (He and Pride are the only two Homunculi specifically created to serve a purpose). Dante or someone probably just found someone, killed them, and then preformed a Human Transmutatation. BOOM! Gluttony.

The only thing I know about Gluttony (Anime) is that he was made by Dante and was made a little before or after Greed (From what Lust said. She said he already knew Gluttony) so he's around 200ish.

I agree with this theory up to "he had no past" He probably with development of Bone's part would have had a very interesting one. I'm currently writing a fanfic about Gluttony and I came up with a pretty nifty theorectical past:
Gluttony was created from squawt to be a perfect being to create stones (explains why he's a bit on the mutated side). He was made to be stupid to prevent him from becoming rogue (possibly Greed had already ran off by this point). So he probably started out tiny, like a freaky little baby... mind you I drew a baby version of Gluttony and people at DA thought it was cute >>
Anyway, I assume the way Gluttony produced red stones was like this: Ingest living or recently deceased humans to absorb their soul to produce red water, when enough was around Gluttony pours would release it (explaning his total lack of hair and
the movie Gluttony strangness
), when it hit oxygen it would harden into red stones. In theory, if Gluttony absorb enough human souls without suffering damage that would eat up the energy he could produce a true Philosopher's Stone within him.
Chances are good Bones left out Gluttony's past from lack of interest (not enough Glut-fangirls, not really emotional like the rest of the homunculi )
