yeah I love AnnaxYoh!
to me it is like this
Hao -> AnnaxYoh
but Anna is my favorite!
So off topic! Talking about Mankin in the Furuba thread!

i'm for yoh x anna too

for furuba, i really like kyou and he really likes tohru but i sort of see her ending up with yuki. i actually think kyou x uo-chan would be cute though
Chibi Viki
Oct 3 2004, 03:15 AM
i heard in the manga, it would be uo-chanxkureno since she sees so much tohru in him...
i'm actually rooting for... SHIGUREXHANAJIMA?! ahehehe, yeah!
i also agree that it would be yukixtohru... well, it will all depend who that kid with the cap in volume 2 is since apparently, he's tohru's first love.

you mean Hatori

ahhh the whole story about him and kana is SAD.
Chibi Viki
Oct 4 2004, 01:48 AM
all of their stories are sad. but i must admit, the story i cried over the most is momiji. how he could still keep such a genki attitude despite what had happened to him is beyond me.
btw, i noticed something... is it just me or doesn't shigure have a story of his own? there was none in the anime, but maybe in the manga?

Ahh, yes. I found Momiji's story most touching. I almost cried, and wanted to hug him as well (and bunnies are so cute!). And I'm curious as to whether or not Shigure has a sad past, too. All we know of his "childhood" days are his high school years with Hatori and Ayame (which, of course, are hilarious in their own rights).

yes I agree too. Momiji's story made me cry the most. And I just love Shigure!

in the end, you can' t really be angry at his mom for what happened. putting myself in her shoes, i might have done the same... but because i'm such an animal lover, i'd probably hug and cuddle him to death!! :,3
i especially liked tohru when it came to kisa the tiger. poor little dear *eyes watering* if those girls bully you again, my dear kisa, I'LL KICK ALL OF THEIR BUTTS AND DYE ALL THEIR HAIR BRIGHT SICKLY ORANGE!!

Awww, I really loved Kisa as well (also because I'm a tiger.

). But when she speaks, it sounds like she's almost in tears most of the time. Sheep-boy's relation with her was quite sweet though, ahh, but he seemed like such a spoiled child. Then again, when he starts complaining, you can't say that he doesn't have a point or two . . .

so far, it's risu (the monkey) that i don't quite like.
Quistis88
Oct 8 2004, 11:50 PM
I wasn't too fond of Rizu either. The apologetic attitude just gets a little annoying after a while, I suppose.
Chibi Viki
Oct 9 2004, 05:39 AM
it suited risu's mom cuz it made her "creepier"... but risu just overdid it. is that how monkeys usually are? (since the author really dug in to the behavior of the animals and put them into the characters' personalities... like kyo hating leeks... leeks are deadly to cats, i heard).

Book 9 in June... In french, book 13 should come out at that time
I like Ritsu... so far, it's Rin that I don't really like... She's mean to my Ha-kun!

I just... don't like her, and her type of character... And Akito... *brrr* He/she/it freaks me out... but I really like his/her/its voice in the anime.
I adore the anime (even if the end was a bit... hum, yeah. Tohru/Kyo fanservice...

), but I'm not sure where the author's going with the manga... I mean, Akito's a woman, the Kyo/Tohru thing (Sorry, I prefer Yuki/Tohru...)...
My favorites are Haru, Shigure and I really like Hatori and Kyo, too. And Kazuma (the owner of the karate dojo) and Uotani... Almost everybody, in fact
Chibi-Usa

Showoff....
Kihaku
Mar 1 2005, 06:25 AM
Huh what?
But anyway.. there was a thread for this in this section too and I didn't see it!
Anyway same as the anime.. I toatally adore this series and thanks to recs I've started to collect this...(the manga, not the anime) and I'm waiting for vol 8 to come out...Haru is on the cover! *dances*
yes, my faves (to be stated again) are Kyo (my absolute fave), Haru, Momiji, Kazuma and Shigure... I like every character though a lot.. besides Akito and Yuki.
Rin.. I don't remember Rin.. does she appear only in the manga?
I actually didn't consider the ending of the anime very Kyo/Tohru..

Or then I just didn't see it... For some reason I kept on seeing Yuki/Tohru and still do..

I'm rooting for Kyo/Tohru though.. because I like that pairing...(And Yuki belongs to Haru)
Ooh.. is the manga going that way? *jumps happily* But well.. who knows there's bound to be some sort of a twist anyway...

Mar 1 2005, 04:12 PM
I'm the manga girl for Fruit basket. I don't really care who Tohru ends up because I like both pairings but ummm I would like Yuki more than Kyo because it just seems that in the Anime it ended up with KyoxTohru. I want someone for Shigure, he is just too cool to be left alone

Noo... it didn't end that way..

I think the anime left things pretty open...
In the manga... it would just go so well if Yuki would end up with Haru and Tohru with Kyou *nods head*.. but I'm not that hopeful.. as for Shigure.. I will try and accept what I know.. wonder if it will trun out into anything though.. so many mysteries

Ninie:
Thanks! Good to know!

Yes, yes.

I'm reading the manga!

But I'm not reading it online, I'm buying the English vols, so I guess I'd be a little behind. Heh, I guess the anime didn't exactly make it as far as the parts of "revelations".

Mar 4 2005, 10:04 AM
Um.. like I already wrote in another topic, Furuba isn't really that "girly" in my opinion.
Sure, the art is typical for a shoujo manga, but otherwise the plot/story has dark themes as well as cute ones. I don't see why it can't be enjoyed by males too.

. I've heard of guys who actually really like Fruits Basket.

I think it's that most prob. don't want to give it a try because it looks so shoujo...
My darn brother won't..
Chibi-Usa

Chibi-Usa:
Furuba would definitely be categorized as shoujo. Not all shoujo is cutesy, but many contain very dark themes too... like X, Angel Sanctuary (or anything from aori Yuki) and Yami no Matsuei.
I consider Furuba to be something in between cute and dark. At the surface it seems very cute, but can be very depressing.
My family almost resents anime/manga.. My Bro says he doesn't like "anime" and "manga".. but likes certain series like One Piece, Naruto, DBZ and Prince of Tennis(yeah.. shonen stuff). So I guess it's a start....
Coffee:
You're doing a good job.... making me very interested but not spoiling anything. I can't wait....

Ninie:
Yeah that's true.

You're lucky though that the fFench manga has almost caught up? or?
yeah.. I managed to spoil myself pretty well too.. Although it seemed that everyone knows certain facts anyway... For example I lent my manga to my friend, when I got it back and tried to watch not to spoil her I realised she was pretty well informed.. oh well..
