Who else has this problem? My favorite characters (or characters I REALLY like) seem to always die, and it sucks T_T It doesn't just go with animes, but it commonly does. Here are some that I'm referring to, but I won't say the characters for spoiling purposes.

FMA
Scryed (WTF?!?!?!?!)
Rurouni Kenshin (at least one of my favorites dies)
Trigun
Cowboy Bebop
Blue Gender
Angel Sanctuary
Outlaw Star
E's Otherwise

That's all that I can think of for now, but it's gotten to the point where if I really like a character, I expect them to die *sigh*

death is jsut a natural part of life that coincidentally makes the main protagonist so angsty that we want to keep watching

Some made me cry, some just plain pisses me off... Wolf's rain made me cry though - a LOT. While Evangelion just totally weirded me out.

well...one of the few animes that had characters dying and made me really sad about it is...
Chrno Crusade...i was totally distracted for 2 days...oh man...

but it was still such a waste...

the saddest charecter death to me was in samerai x but thats it,i usally move on but itook me weeks to get over that

The saddest character death to me is the Director in Elfen lied.

I was pissed when my favorite character in Death Note died... I lost interest afterwards but I'll force myself to keep reading.... I hope it gets turned into an anime soon.

Death Note is probably the one that caught me offguard the most. Second would be Hughes...

What is it with them and killing popular character? >_< It especially hurts when your favorite character is killed in a non-depressing anime...

Normally, if only one character dies throughout an entire series (normally anime but may be movie or book), it's a character that I like a lot and a favorite T_T Sometimes it's at a really happy part and it's like wtf when it happens *sigh*

i really care about the person dying. but what im more interested about is how that death will affect the whole plot of the series. and that is the best part of any character dying. and i will admit i really dont like it when they die

i just hate when a character i love dies, like in Chrono Crusade
i was so fricken sad, i was depressed for a whole week, just thinking about it makes me wanna cry now

can never imagine that... i will cry n cry n cry lolx...

Well the death that struck me hardest was both [spoiler]
Edward and Hughes. I cried for a few days, another death that hit me kind of hard were some of the deaths in S-Cry-Ed and Trigun -sob-

So many of the characters I like from any form of fiction have died that I'm used to it. Though, I still get caugh off guarded and start tearing. Yes, I can get super emotional when it comes to anime. I mean, who cries in Gravitation? I did. Or maybe it's just a romance thing.

Anyway, character deaths I've cried the most in:
[spoiler]Nuriko from Fushigi Yugi: I was sobbing and couldn't stop crying even after the episode ended.
Hughes: Duh, that was really unexpected. I didn't cry when Edward died though. That was more of a 'wtf?' reaction.
Chrno Crusade: Everyone who died in the series except Aion and his followers.[/spoiler]

There's more but I can't think of them right now.

It sucked soo much when [spoiler]Maes Hughes[/spoiler] died in FMA,
In my opinion he was the coolest character ever created in an anime series, and many other people share this opinion with me. [spoiler]Episode 25 - words of farewell - was so sad, the part where I almost cried was when Ed, Al and Winry were on the train just after Hughes had been shot by Envy, it was so sad when Ed didn't know about his death and then saw Hughes waving him off at a remote train station[/spoiler]. Hughes was prolly Ed and Al's best friend and was such a big father figure to his daughter and even to Ed and Al, he really had the perfect family..

[spoiler] I'm never sad when a character dies. Just dissapointed, shocked perhaps. I get a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach.
I read the manga version of Hughes death at the bookstore before I saw the episode, so it was not that bad.
However, I saw the Ed death on Youtube before I was anywhere near that episode, so I kind of had a 'Wtf' expression on my face for the rest of the day. Technically, Ed doesn't die though. Should it really count?
As for the FMA movie, I knew of the plot and the deaths before I saw it. So are the joys of participating on this forum. [/spoiler]

Too many awesome characters died in Trigun... It's really sad.

What can I say? I liked a lot of them.

OMFG! when [spoiler]maes hughes died! That was so sad![/spoiler] from FMA it was the only one that ever made me cry! They made it seem so real though, the scene I mean. plus [spoiler]he was such a funny, awesome guy >_<. And he had a daughter, and a wife.[/spoiler] The part that made it sadder was when [spoiler]when his daughter was begging they take him out, and she wasn't clear as to why they were digging him up [/spoiler]. I agree with you Mibu, the [spoiler]scene at the train station when maes's spirit bids his final farewell to Ed T_T.[/spoiler]

All my favorite characters either die or become evil. It sucks.

Same goes here Bakaonna, when [spoiler]Edward [/spoiler] died, i didn't cry either, which is wierd cause that person was one of my faves. But then again, web spoilers that were all in my face kinda spoiled it, so i knew it was coming O_o

When Hughes actually died (even though my friend accidentally told me it would happen) I only cried a little. It was his funeral, when Elysia was asking why they were burying him that i was literally sobbing. I couldn't even tell my sister about, i burst into tears every time. Ed's death made me cry. (Even though i'd already seen the movie and knew he'd be fine). And L's death in Death Note. That one was bad. The whole series kinda lost it's magic for me after that. Oh, and when i finally replaced L as my favorite character for Mello (the scar made him more manly) he died as well. sux huh?

Why are we even bothering with the spoiler things? Maybe it's just my computer, but they aren't working.
