It had to be Maes of course.

He's one of those characters in anime that you're automatically going to fall in love with...and then...when you get too attached to him...he kicks the bucket.

Maes was an awesome guy.

Waaaaaaaaaaaah, why'd he have to die!?

For me there are only a few deaths that made me cry or even feel sad.
1. Ed's: Not only was he my fav. character. But just the way he died. And Al's dialoge made the tears add up.D'X

2. Nina's: Now I would of picked Nina on the Poll but Ed went first. Nt only did her own father mak her into a cimera. But just the way Scar tried to "save" her. Now when I hear the name "Nina" I cry. :'(

3. Wrath's: Wrath was my fav. Homonculus. and what he said to Al :'(

Maes Hughes ranks number 1 for me - It took me 2 days to get over that! One of the best characters for any series that I could not believe was allowed to die.

However, on the "bad" guy side, I really felt for Greed - I mean, I really find myself liking the guy - all he wanted to do was have fun...his conversation with Ed was touching.

For me it was Nina's.

Hughes, man, Hughes. Then salt to the wounds when his daughter start asking questions at the funeral. "Why are they throwing dirt over daddy?"

Definitely Hughes. That was very sad, and he was my favorite character T_T

Hues was the most impacting death, no question.
My brother actually cried, I was all "NONONONONONONONONONOOOOO!" the whole time.
He was just so awesome. ='(

Hughes was one of my favorite characters, so his death was pretty bad for me, but I think Nina's impacted me more (both the death and what her father did to her) probably just because she was so young and went so horribly. I cried when both died.

Wrath had a really moving death. I never liked him much, but I really respect what he did for Al and it changed my opinion of him completely.

I'm surprised more people haven't picked Sloth. Hughes' death was shocking, and his funeral was heart-wrenching because of Elysia and Roy, but I'd have to say Sloth's death was worse. The entire time Sloth had been acting like a monster and an enemy, but at the very end it was revealed how conflicted she was with herself, and it was almost as if they really had a chance to get her back, or at least someone else who shared the memories. It was really sad that Sloth's memories of being Ed and Al's mother drove her to hate them, and herself, because even if she wanted to she could never be Trisha Elric. And yet judging from her last words she was most at peace when she was Trisha, or at least pretending to be.

I am suprised why people haven't picked ed^^ All deaths were touching, but ed's especially...if i would pich my top 10, it would be:

1. Ed
2. Greed (anime)
3. Nina Tucker
4. Hughes
5. Scar
6. Lust (Anime)
7. Envy (manga)
8. Izumi (the movie)
9. Sloth
10. Martel (anime)

Although i dont know if we can count eds death as a real death...


Oh, of coarse, I forgot about wrath^^

I thought Greed's was, because he knew he was going down. He turned out being a nice homunculus(if there is such a thing). He seemed like he actually cared for his men. He showed Ed, that Edward had the power to stop the remaining homunculi. Why do you think the other homunculi hated him, because he was not like them, and they resented him for it. He worked for no man, he was his own(homunculus technically).

Hughes was pretty depressing too, that really was sad.

Hughes death made me cry.

And I NEVER cry. D:

I don't know exactly why it was the most moving for me, it just was. Maybe it was because he was always showing pictures of his family to people, and how happy he was about his daughter, that made his death that much more moving.

Hughes most definitely. I loved him since the episode where his daughter was born. I was crying when Envy took the form of Gracia and shot him, but at the funeral when Elysia was like "They can't bury daddy, he has work to do!" I just....lost it. I lost it even more when Roy cried. I cried the next day too.

My second choice would be Ed's death. He was one of my favorites, and then Al's little speech...oh gosh. It took me two weeks to get over how the series ended. I mean it just...good Lord. ^^; I can't even explain how I felt.

Maes, by far. I remember crying so hard during and after his death scene.

Hughes, of course. Funeral scene was the saddest thing ever. (Plus he had to die 3 times...poor guy) The only other person I could've voted for was Nina, because she was just too cute to die.

I guess Hughues all though I'm kinda tempted to say Trisha XD , poor ed and al! *hugglez dem* scars bro was also pretty sad and winry's parents

I presume everyone would say Hughes... but I don't know... I was more moved by Envy's death.... I mean... I don't know weather I'm happy about it or I'm sad but I like the concept of him finally admitting he's envious of humans and he even cried....

I'm not really sure, I found Nina's death the most heart breaking because of what that sick dad did to her, but I wouldn't miss her like I would with Hughes.

Hughes's death was the worst for me, especially after that episode when Hughes was waving goodbye to Edward, I was like 'So Hughes is not going to be anymore episodes' that was just heartbreaking. I always squee when he comes up and says something about his daughter.

But all in all I found Nina's death the most heartbreaking just because she was innocent and had the rest of her life ahead of her. But Hughes is the character I'll miss most out of the series. I really missed Hughes when he had died.
