This anime sounds really cool and stuff, I like the story for as far as I know. But I'm not sure if I should watch it. Is the violence really so bad? I don't care about blood or nudity, but I do care about insides and stuff. If it contains stuff like that, I'm definitely not gonna watch it.

Well, some people get their heads removed like screwtop bottlecaps... a bunch of others get torn right in half. Lots of flying gibs.
But other than that, nothing too severe.

It's one of those "let the viewers decide" deals. They crop up every so often.

One of the reasons i like this anime is because of the blood guts and nudity help the need for action XD.

I have no great love for this series. Visually it was moderately enjoyable to watch, but I was mentally marred by the stupidity that was 'Nyu'. I was okay with the amnesia, but her split personality was more of a joke when it could have been treated with some thought provoking psychosis. Not to be entirely negative, however, I did really like the music.

Despite the curious nudity, it was pretty good. Sucks it only has 13 episodes though, and it ended horribly, but still good.

Wasn't that End of Evangelion?
People exploded into clouds of very red blood in Elfen Lied.

Just watched EoE the other day, actually, and it is indeed, very orange.
And Elfen Lied is very red.

my friend mentioned elfen lied to me one day and she said it was horribly bloody. me, i don't like blood that much, but i can read gory manga because it's black and white lol. i got about halfway through it on onemanga when it boring and i skipped to the last chapter to see the end. i thought it was pretty good, but not great.

The first episode left a terrible and scary impression to the fact that I wasn't able to sleep.... But then I said I'll give it a second chance then before I knew it... I was already in the last episode crying my heart out because of the awesomeness of this anime!

I love it how the Kurama guy and his real daughter ended up... I mean it's sad but it's beautiful in the sense that they we're hugging each other..... I hated YUKA to the core!

Ah Elfen Lied. The series I had a love/hate relationship with for some time.
At first, I was turned off by Elfen Lied, but not so much by the gore and nudity. I really didn't like Lucy's character in the anime. Yes I felt quite sorry for her when I saw her past (puppy beaters wtf) but her killing sprees were often completely unjustified. She is unreasonably sadistic, especially to people who didn't deserve it.
I read the manga though and my love shot way, way up. She got so much more development as a person and I thought she was fascinating. Her relationship with Kohta and others is fleshed out much better.
I adore the "Lilium" song and the homage to Klimt

Watched the first episode of Elfen Lied and the the beginning of it made it seem like a very dark and adult creation, that certainly appealed to me. Don't mind blood, nor tasteful nudity - you know, nudity that isn't fanservice. Which I felt it wasn't at first. But then when Nyu (is that her name?) lost her mask and it turns out she's a chibi kiwi little girl with bunny ears... well, that took away a huge chunk of the potential that I initially saw in the show. And it made the nudity feel a bit uncomfortable. So I didn't watch past episode 1. I guess I should give it a proper chance, though, before I dismiss it. I have heard good things about it. Don't judge the book by the cover, as they say. Things can be dark and adult despite a misleading appearance.
