Jesus, and I thought it couldn't get any worse than ROBOARCHER.

Now now, who wouldn't be able to make jokes by saying "I'll be back" when Terminarcher appeared? Maybe he'll run for Fuhrer and win the election! </rimshot>

to be honest, Rumiko Takahashi is still writing the Inuyasha series in Japan... it was the last time I checked... >.> not too sure though... *sweatdrop* I'm not as obsessed with that as I was 3 years ago and that's probably cuz I like the manga a lot better... but anyways... back to FMA. I thought the series became WAY weird at around the early 30's.... then I read about how the series stopped following th manga at that point and the realization hit me X.x I'd still like to see how the anime ends though... hopefully it's not gonna wind down and come completely short of the manga like MKR did... I hate MKR anime... it ruined the manga! ok enough of other anime... I haven't seen ep 49 yet but I read that whole synopsis thing from the earlier post! XD I don't mind spoilers... in fact I love them! hehe ^-^ I dunno why! I just like knowing the spoilers... 52 eps seems more logical... Fushigi Yugi ended in 52 eps! I felt that they should have included that scene in the manga when Yui gave *rambles on* oh wait where was I? *sweatdrop* um... I'm looking forward to the movie! gotta look forward to stuff like that... but I still think that most of the stuff will be resolved in the end... maybe they'll have one of those 'specials' which include a 1 hour eps. like in Naruto eps. 46... I think... I can't remember X.x then there was that special 1 hour eps. before that I can't remember the number of... yeah... argh it's late and I have homework to finish and sleep to be gotten. X.x

The whole roboarcher thing isnt that bad, it was just done wrong.

Ed has automail for the missing parts of his body, Archer has the same. However his is not like the automail we have seen, and seems too robotic. Same with the glowing eye and speaking without opening his mouth. It doesnt fit at all.

The Gun out of the mouth thing is plain silly though.

But the idea of having him half automail is kind of interesting, and I think could have been better if not used in a robotic way. I mean, look at the people in rush valley.

It seems that for ever person that live in the FMA world, there is also a simlar person in the london world.

this is one of a good explanation.

and even if it is true, their relationship and position is deffrent from
FMA world.

I imagined some possible cases about these worlds.

1) each world is haven/hell of the other world
2) each world is future/past of the other world
there might be more case ....I hate lack of my imagination....

I know Amestris is fictitious country so its location is not so important.
But there are some mention about Christianity as an ancient religion.
so I believe both world holds cirtain relation each other.

I still expect to get some religious meaning from these background.
and in next ep 50. Hohemheim will unveil the secret of alchemy to Ed.

I'm looking forward to get it.
-RD-
what if behind the gate is our world

one one side it is the alchemy world, and on the other side its our world

and what happend is Ed went to the other side of the gate, into our world

and since his father was already there and Al wasnt there, it might be possable

like what if whoever died or passed through the gate came over to our side

I dont know, this is screwed up

they cant finish it in 2 episodes!

oh and, I dont think Pride will be killed, i think he will be going good

Episode 50: Death (of roy mustang)
Shinigami
Basically it will be roy+hawkeye vs Pride. I doubt he will die though.
elrithiel
Am I the only one who really loathes Rose? >_- She's so irritating. Her baby's starting to get annoying, too.

Plus, she has stupid hair.

And since when is Ed in love with her? He seemed annoyed by her in Lior, but he still wanted to help her, because that's what he does. Was Lyra just being catty? Or, like somebody else mentioned, maybe she thought she could use Rose to get to Ed, because he's Hohenheim's son.

I loved this episode!

Rose & Dante's clothes. Rose dancing. The underground city, London attack all was great and the animation was superb!

but the story was veeeeeery confusing
Shrimpusmaximus
Roy can't die. Or at least his death would imply things about the series that I can't see happening. First of if all the villians are going to die. Envy is too sick not to, Gluttony is about to self destruct, Dante has proven an unrepentant evil and both Wrath and Pride are becoming sympathetic, what with the mommy mommy and this is my son I give him trains. A sure sign that an FMA villian is going to die <cough> greed, lust, scar. If pride dies, a given, Roy has to be there to pick up the mantel. The country is rudderless and cruel and roy has quested for this since episode 5. Moreover Hughes died trying to push him up. In my mind everyone around roy is fair game to die catapulting him the final steps. If he dies then the ending message will be different no matter what the end result of eds little conflict is. Armestris is headed towards a dark age unless roy surives to the end.

I think armstrong or hawkeye are more likely candidates if someone must die. Though my intuition favors hawkeye as the more likely target.

And in response to the man who dislikes rose. I disagree, she is an interesting and strong character that just happens to have been raped one too many times. First physically then mentally. Shes a better love interest for Ed because she represents the future and responsibility as opposed to the childish fantasy shown to us by winry. She is a temporarily damaged property that brings with it infinite possibility in a new life and adulthood. Winry is an adolecent crush.

And I like her hair.
elrithiel
I do just so happen to be a girl. tongue.gif

Rose's character development and personality have struck me as particularly weak. It's terrible what happened to her, yes, but her presence now just seems like some sort of deus ex machina and guilt trip for Ed. The lovey phrases and blushes in this episode really came out of the blue for me.

Winry and Ed have always seemed more like friends/siblings to me. No real potential romance there, either. I can see how someone can fanwank it for either pairing, but not in canon thus far.
RurouniLeeO
Can someone explain to me again these things?

Where did Ed go????
Why's his dad there???
who is Ed in that place???
How did Ed get there???
How are they gonna end this in 2 episodes????
Why's there Zeppelins attacking Ed's place???

ed's soul was transfered to envy's original body and the place is where envy died.. i dunno if the fansubs r wrong, but ed says: Who's that?! when he looks at himself in the mirror... it's not ed nor al's body..
Shinigami
It's not envys orignal body because... hmmm maybe because he isn't dead. Plus there is no alchemy in the london and honheim didn't come from the london world. He ask who it is because himself in the other world has slight changes. Ill eat a hat if that is envy.

Judging by how much convoluted, twisted and illogical the anime has become, your eating a hat might be possible.

Rose is annoying to me too, I mean WTF! Her hair! when I first saw it I was like convoulsing! And the fact that she indirectly led to the deaths of many people! Her personality bugs me too! mad.gif Did I mention the hair?

is there any doubts bout envy's being the homunculus version of dante and hohenheim's dead son? i think its so obvious..

im saying that ed is living a past event (where human envy dies) due to the gate

I think the possibility is small.beacuse.....

1) the face of original body and homulculus body is almost same.
compare Sloth and Trisia. but the face of Ed in London and envy is quite
different.

It's more important. As I mentioned before,
2) at first in London , Hoenheim callesed Ed (looking guy) as "Edward-kun"
in Japanese, ordinary father never call his son with "-kun" (except for
while the son is small child). according to this, Their relationship
is NOT a father and a son. if Hohenheim thought the Ed (in London) as
a son of him, He must shout just "Edward!" in such a emergency situation.

Sorry I don't want to eat anything with my explanation.

Hmm.. I don't necessarily dislike Rose but...

I agree with that her character development is very weak. Right now, Rose isn't even technically within herself, all she responds to is her baby crying (who apparently Rose hasn't given a name to, considering she calls calls the baby 'my baby!' All she is right now is a tool, and I'm sure if ANY girl who wasn't a old hag went up to Edward and said, "I've been waiting for you forever!!!" he would also blush. I don't support Ed/Winry either, they're more like siblings...

Roy's not gonna die. If Al's gonna die and Ed get trapped in the AU then Roy's gonna kill Bradley and become furher.

I don't get how Ed can't recognize himself.... he looks like himself... except with different hair. I don't understand how he looks any different besides the hair (and the automail, obviously). I thought he might have been Al at first, but he's obviously not.

The series may turn out that Ed and Hoenheim are trapped forever in the 'real world', while Ed forgets who he once was (like Hoemheim is, apparently), Al (somehow) turns back human, and Roy becomes Furher. But since they can never see each other again it's all sad. I don't think it's gonna be a happy ending, considering Ed and Al's seiyuus are crying during that post-production thing. But the producers said they were surprised @ the ending so it might turn out differently after all.

And what's with all of you?? Geez, just because the series is getting kinda trippy doesn't mean you have to suddenly bash it! At least wait for the last episode before giving it a verdict... I thought this was a pretty good episdoe, and I'm looking forward to see the ending (I'm sure it'll be great) tongue.gif

Ed's current body might be Evny's former body. Remember that Envy dosen't even remembers how he looked like.
MaesHughes33
Well see, the thing is, the theory of Envy being Hohenheim's son who Hohenheim tried to resurrect 400 years ago is reliable.

SO, that would mean that if Ed was in Envy's body, mayb we'll see how Envy was killed, and why Hohenheim tried to resurrect him.

NOT only that but I wouldn't be surprised if Izumi dies.. And i was confused by the younger State Alchemists saving her from Archer and the others....

People i could envision dying:
Pride, Riza Hawkeye (She'll die protecting Roy Mustang), Envy, Wrath, Dante, Gluttony, Al, Archer, and Louis Armstrong.

I don't think the series will come to a complete end though, it will HAVe to leave some loose strings open if they're creating a movie though.

So back to Ed in London.... Mayb he's not physically there, but rather, experiencing things from somebody else's eyes. I don't believe that London is PHYSICALLY behind the doors.
Xelmon
THAT was a lot of reading in just 20 minutes... (eyes hurting)

Allright... I wont go into uber bashing, but here are my opinions:

The series WILL end in a mere 3 episodes, as insane as it seems!

The NGE thing I have to agree with to a level, but not all the way... Why? Well, FMA is totally set, on the other hand, NGE was in the gutter because of funding, time constraints, etc etc etc... If you even notice, sometimes in still pictures the background slightly shifts... Now, back to FMA

The whole transferring to 1916 was somewhat... random, but I liked it! I thinks it makes it kinda koo blink.gif Wait... Scratch that! It will unfold to all of us in about 3 days, when "Death" is revealed...

Now, with the whole (x)x(x) thing, I have no real opinions... Well, yeah, royxriza, but thats sooo OBVIOUS...

Can I provide anything new? Afraid not, all theories are ran thru, and there is going to be Only and Only one answer for all of us... So let us wait mellow.gif

"Riza Hawkeye (She'll die protecting Roy Mustang),"
I don't know but let me say it would be just obvious... too obvious. Maybe it is the opposite. Mustang finally shows that loves Riza and die to protect her. That would make more sense seeing that he does not demonstrate his feelings very well and he won't let other like Hughes die on the hand of the homunculus. But I really don't know. So many possibilities sad.gif Just my two cents.

Netbare,
1) Envy doesnt remember his original form

2) R u sure bout that? When hohenheim recognises that it's normal ed, he says: You're my son, Edward-kun.. wink.gif
Anakardo
I don't think the last twist with the real world is so bad.
1St: is NOT the real world (zeppelins over london???? never happened) but might be the past of that world. Or our world twisted.
2nd: Instead of dying, people get tossed into another reality. Therefore the obvious question (add it to the unanswered list) what are homunculus? Who were they in the other dimension?
3rd: Al is gonna die. You know that.
4th: probably Ed too. But since when crossing the door you get catapulted into another reality.. maybe they don't die at all and begin another life into another dimension... :| (that's for another twist)... or maybe al is already into another dimension, in a coma, perhaps.
or or or.... biggrin.gif
cm'on guys, let's wait for the last two episodes. In the end I feel the anime was well worth it. Much better than lots of other series...

2) R u sure bout that? When hohenheim recognises that it's normal ed, he says: You're my son, Edward-kun..  wink.gif

1)Is it enough reason that their form is quite different each other?

2)Yes. I am sure. your reference is wrong. this is so important point.
please correct it with this explanation.

Actually he said (a moment before that words)

J:"Oyaji? Nani wo itterunda? Edward-kun"
E:"Father? What are you saying? Edward-kun"
at this moment, he still used "-kun" with "Edward". so he belived he is not his son.(or, at least not a member of his family/relative. "-kun" is used for a friend.)
and he wondered that "Ed looking guy" called him "Father". therefore he said ,
"What are you saying?"

then next,He suddenly awered something and said ..

J:"Omae, watashi no musuko no Edward ka?"
>> someone translated this as "You're my son, Edward-kun.. "
I think one may interprited "ka?" as "kun" but it was wrong.
if the translation WERE right, the Japanese words should be ..
"Omae ha watashi no musuko no Edwad-kun da."

-------
Anyway the correct translation is,

E:"You..(a little blank) ..Are you my son Edward?" (his action and his intonation
suggests he is surprising)

That's the reason why I couldn't think "Ed in London" is Hohenheim's son.

But It might be possible that He is "original Envy".
even in this case, from 2) reason, He is not Hohenheim's son.
Shrimpusmaximus
About the doubt in Hohenheims voice. The man has always been a little misty. I mean he forgot to come home for so long his family moved on and he mistook Winry for her mother, when she was a child. He was stating something that he was suddenly unsure of. Like talking to an amnesiac. "You are my son...Edward" waiting on recognition and suddenly being no longer sure of the truth.

As for the Zepplin thing, sorry to burst bubbles but that is el reality as the mexicans say. During World War one there were zepplin raids on london...

amnesia... Yes I agree this is quite convinient disease to explain any inconsistency.

With "a Special Technique" like this, it's hard to deny any kind of possibility. tongue.gif

I think the only thing you can do is take a look at the previews, and somehow try to tie it in with the episode's title. Everything else is wild speculation. tongue.gif
With the title of "Death", I think it is safe to say that one or more of the series main characters will *gasp* die this episode. Riza? Hoenhiem? Gluttony? Al? Dante? Or perhaps a truth about death will be learned before the episode is over. What happens to bodies and souls of people when they die? Where do they go? Beyond the gate? etc etc. As far as the individual preview images are concerned you have the following:

1. Hoenhiem talking to Edward
- I would imagine he is telling Ed WTF that place is, and why it is like that. Also, his relationship with Dante.

2. Envy talking to a freightened Gluttony
- Envy is probably explaining why Lust is dead, and how Dante tricked the Homumculi. He will probably try and get revenge by killing Dante, although it is him that will die.

3. Quick flash of Dante holding Rose' baby, then Al on a transmutation circle.
- Obviously Dante attempting to use the phil stone to transfer into Rose' body.

I know that this isn't the right thread, but that right again there isn't so I post here the summaries of the ep. 50

the traslation with a translator(Nifty) is this:
Ed understood at the gate which appeared from the baby of a rose is flown in the world of the other side of a gate. That was London in early the 20th century. Ed who escapes from Zeppelin who attacks a town in confusion. At the time, Dante tried to make Gluttony eat Al and tried to get a perfect 賢 person's stone. Gluttony which pounces on Al. And it is in the world of the other side of a gate ....

If there is anyone that know the japanese better, please post the right translation.

Thanks^^

From Rose's baby appear the Gate which swallows Ed who flys towards the world on the other side of the Gate. He appears in the early 20th century London. In the middle of chaos, Ed escapes from the Zeppelins' assault on the streets. About the same time, Dante invites Gluttony to eat Al to obtain the complete Philosopher's Stone. Al suffers the assault of Gluttony. However in the world on the other side of the Gate......
