Gah, I read a ton of manga, so I have a lot of favorite characters... I'll keep it down to 5.

1. Edward Elric (Hagaren, duh) - I....love....this character. He is so well crafted it's not even funny. Thank you Arakawa-sensei! He's funny, loyal, intelligent, strong, and has my favorite kind of abrasive personality.

2. Urameshi Yusuke (Yu Yu Hakusho) - Used to be my #1 until I read Hagaren. He's a loud-mouthed, smoking delinquent, also with an abrasive personality, but somehow comes across as really awesome.

3. Sohma Kyo (Fruits Basket) - Another loud-mouth with an abrasive personality... I sense a trend here...

4. Tanimoto Natsu a.k.a. Hermit (History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi, or Shijō Saikyō no Deshi Kenichi) - An antisocial bishounen with an abrasive personality.....uh oh.

5. Himura Kenshin (Rurouni Kenshin) - Ah ha! He's a really nice, sweet, laid back guy, so it bucks the trend! He is also ridiculously wicked with a sword.


Yikes, I see the type of characters I'm drawn to now. People who seem like utter jerks at first until you get to know them (with the exception of Kenshin)!
