Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket. Omegawd, she is just about the biggest Mary Sue I've ever seen in any anime, or manga. Everyone just loves perfect little Tohru. She is beautiful, kind, and has such a horrible past that everyone just has to pity her...

Actually, she's one of the most flawed characters there, and there are very many people who don't like her. She's insanely nice, but not without her humanity. Aside from that, she's a relatively plain, boring, average schoolgirl. That's what I personally like about her; it's her average-ness. She's not stupid, but she's smarter than people give her credit for, she has a strong resolve, but isn't an overachiever. She just lives her life the only way she knows how; by being overaccepting and forgiving to a fault. It's a defense mechanism of sorts. Although I have a bit of a mean streak in myself, I can relate to Tohru; she blames herself harshly for most everything that goes wrong. In that way, I also tend to be neurotic and let small mistakes eat away at me. The reason I admire her, though, is that she puts all her emotional distress into a positive outlet; helping people.

I like Inuyasha, But I don't find that offensive.

I used to hate Mustang too....but I liked him towards the end, after I understood his character a bit more. Rose...yeah...well....a rock may not be hard enough. Maybe I can transmute some lead or something to chuck at her.....all she does is whine, whine, whine!

For some reason, overly "nice" characters really irritate me. You've met them; they're gentle/fragile, they smile a lot, they never get mad, they only look sad when something bothers them, they occasionally have a low self-esteem attack and wonder if the occuring trouble is somehow all their fault, and even the normally-brash characters are hesitant to yell at them. They're also usually females. I guess most guys have too much testosterone to be overly nice like that.

Of course it's perfectly human to want to be nice (I would hope), but they're just... boring, and they usually have no other quirks to boot. It's like they have to be super nice to make up for their boringness, or otherwise they won't stand out at and all and will fade in the background along with the minor characters. For this reason I tend to like characters that I don't like better (e.g., those who whine/complain a little too much) than I do these nice characters.

Why doesn't anyone like Sakura? She's my favorite in the series. In the new stuff she woops more ass than almost anyone else which rocks =P I think I already said Paranoia Agent, Inuyasha, and DB (all) don't really need to exist >.> Here are some more, all from Naruto:

YES HE DID! Trowa was an uber badass then Qatre went crazy and shot him with the Wing Zero's buster cannon wtf? That sent Trowa's comatose body into space, and gave him amnesia. Then, Qatre basically manipulated Trowa's personality be being him around him so much as he was recovering. That made Trowa much less cooler than he use to be so QATRE NEEDS A STAKE THROUGH HIS HEART NOW!

Chi-Chi from DBZ - only purpose she served was having Gohan and Goten. Talk about annoying...

The entire cast of Yugi-Oh other than Kaiba...him I can tolerate.

Suzy from Zatch Bell - I can't stand her voice and I truly can't appreciate a whiner.

Izumi from FMA - Unless things improve with her real soon, I'm afraid I'll never be able to tolerate her. Yeah, she's tough, intelligent, etc., etc., but what was the purpose of beating the living hell out of Ed and Al for doing the exact same thing she did? Talk about double standards...

She never tried to defend her own actions. She was always living in shame because of them. And there's a world of difference between messing with your dvds and messing with trying to resurrect the dead, and creating a soulless monster in the process.

Well, now that you mention it, I remember that now...he like joined a circus and was a clown or something and Duo found him (err..something like that)...but I remember....Trowa became really lame after that.... But I don't think that Qatre did it on purpose...maybe Trowa decided that he liked being tootie-fruity instead of a badass. I dunno. I'm sorry that you feel that way about Qatre....but my feelings are still unwavering...he may be a pathetic character, but I love him anyway
