My favorite is Zidane/Dagger, of course. It's a given, but I do think they are quite suited for each other most of the time. The other one I like is Steiner/Beatrix.

Now why haven't I thought of that couple before? XD It might... It is quite cute in some aspects.

Anyway, I voted for Zidane/Garnet... They were the reason I kept going with the game. (The storyline didn't really catch me...)

Well, it's all enix's fault. Before the merge, squaresoft pwned, but now they aren't coming out with stuff quite as awesome as it used to be. Sure, there are still some good games, but most of the older stuff is better than most of the newer stuff.

Didn't the merge come about because Squaresoft needed to save itself? If that is the case, without Enix, Squaresoft will no longer be able to produce anything. I guess something is better than nothing.

ff x-2 was horrible but it was'nt that bad but yeah it could of been better,way better any way aren't we getting just a weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee bit off topic

Ehh, I wouldn't say the merge ruined it. The only game that was horrible so far was FFX-2. One bad game doesn't mean the entire company is corrupt.

That still doesn't mean that the games are as good as they were when square was it's own entity before the merge. It just means that marketing has gotten better. Plus, they can stand out more because they have had more competition since then. For instance, xbox was not around before the merger. With more competition, if they market better, that means even more sales.

Of course not. Maybe now that Square has merged with Enix, they aren't too paranoid about going bankrupt, so they put less effort in their games.


How? To me, the marketing is still the same quality, really. They just do more of it now due to the competition. Without the competition, they didn't need to market quite as much because their products will be the majority of what consumers see.


That's how it works in the business world, isn't it? But if the things they sell are inferior compared to products from their older days, then word will spread, and marketing usually cannot fix these words.

Anyway, getting off topic, so we should go back to FFIX pairings.

Garnet/Zidane : I found out recently that they probably are one of the FF pairings I like the most (with Tidus/Yuna, Lenne/Shuyin *despite how I disliked that sequel* Raine/Laguna, Aerith/Cloud, Aerith/Zack, Balthier/Ashe *and Ashe/Rassler and maybe Ashe/Basch and also Fran/Balthier... but I like Balthier/Ashe the most really, kinda like FF rendition of Princess Leia Organa and Han Solo from SW... SE just didn't entirely go for it* and Celes/Locke... and the other two I'm about to talk about).

Freya/Fratley : I love it... it's so... I don't know... like a classic middle age romance or something. I just love how they just find each other again... even if Fratley lost his memories. And Freya is a pretty good female character, really. She's a warrior and she doesn't whine because she thinks she lost her only love. She's strong and reliable, and that's good to see.

Beatrix/Steiner : it's a pretty interesting one. I loved how they ended up trusting each other and fighting side by side. Plus, the love letter incident was absolutely hilarious .

Also, Cid and his wife amused me greatly lol.

No comment about Queena and Vivi... Poor little thing, that wedding ceremony traumatized him, I think.
