She was such a fool, she knew that he would be coming, but when he didn't come on time, she went in hysterics.
She put on a rain coat and traveled to the train station without telling anyone. He said he might be late, but she didn't want wait
(ah! you dumbass! that rhymes!) anymore. She thought waiting for him to return is all she could ever do. Life seemed more pleasant with him around, Pleasant? that's not the right word...Fun, Maybe so but, Let's just say Life is more exciting with him around. It was raining very hard. Her umbrella didn't seem to protect her from the rain at all.Little did she know, Winry needed more protction from other things than the rain.
Winry walked down to the path that led to the more busier part of Rizenbul, She crossed some strange and familiar faces.
She said a simple hello to a few, and got on her way to the train station. All the characters in the streets were heavily clothed, due to the pouring, cold, rain. When she went to the ticket booth to see when Edward's and Alphonse's train came, a small, ragged, clothed boy stole her purse. Winry noticed imeadiately, and began to chase after the boy.
"Wait, Come back With my Purse,You Jerk!" she screamed, but the boy kept running, paying no attention.
Then, Finally the boy led into a dark, shady part of the town.A sort of part of town where your good mother would say not to go near. The boy came near a group of thugs, who had as much as ragged clothes as the boy, so you could tell that they were poor pick- pockets. The small boy handed the purse to an ugly, tall dirty- brown haired muscalar man." Thanks Lyle, We'll delay burning your crappy house down now".i don't know why i laughed when i typed that sentence the ugly man said as digged through the purse where Winry kept $100 dollars in the bottom pocket just case she needed something.
Winry was completely disgusted, she couldn't take it anymore. "Hey, Give Me back my purse, You Slob!" she yelled, which was a mistake because a bunch of men twice her size was now putting their beady eyes on her. "What did you say you little Bitch?"
said one of the slobs, Who was just as ugly as the guy with Winry's purse. Winry wanted to run away, but in shock, her legs wouldn't move. The poor excuses for mankind charged at the young woman, who was completely defenseless, or so they think. Winry pulled out trusty, shiny, glimmering in the sunlight if there was any! lol Wrench! She smacked the ugly slobs in the head with it and made a run for it. Strangley enough, Winry thought about the kid she felt sorry for them wondering what those thugs are going to do with him.
" Hey kid, Come on!" she shouted signaling for the young boy to follow her. Reluctantly, the boy followed her.
From the corner of her eye she saw the boy couldn't run well as before, but he kept up with her. They got to the train station, and sat on one of the waiting benches."Why are you trying to save me?" the boy asked after about two minutes. Winry thought about the question, and she answered with a question."What is your name, and why was that guy saying he'll burn down your house?" The boy didn't look her the face he just stared at the ground. "My name is Lyle,and That guy was my boss". Winry gave him a funny look, and she noticed that this boy had golden eyes."just like edward's..." she said softly.
The boy kept continuing to look down on the ground in worry or shame."I'm sorry I stole your purse, Lady" he said, still staring at the earth beneath him. " My name is Winry Rockbell" Winry said, because she wasn't used to being called "lady".
"But, You can call me Winry, Ly" she continued just realising she had given him a nickname. "Ly?" the boy questioned.
"I rather like that Winry, thanks." she smiled at him and he grinned back. He was missing one of his two front teeth. Then he started to shiver from the cold rain so Winry gave him her rain coat.
Then they heard the train come in, and Winry thought"That must be Ed's and Al's" train she said as she got herself up.
"Who?"Ly asked. "My best friends" she said warmly. Ly could tell that she was really happy that they were coming.
Then they both walked up to where the boarders were coming off of. The rain had stopped and They were glad. Too bad that both Winry and Ly's clothes were both very wet still.
Then, Finally Winry saw a huge suit of armor and knew who it was right away. "AL!" she exclaimed. Then Alphonse looked her way."Winry!" he exclaimed back. Then Winry pushed through the crowd with Lyle trying to keep up with her.
Then finally she made it to Al. She also saw Ed behind him and her secretive opinion he had gotten a little taller.
"Ed! Al! It's so good to see you two again!" she shouted with pure joy lunging herself onto Edward in a hug.
She almost knocked him over too. "Hey Winry it's really all nice too see you and all but you're squishing me!" said Ed, in a annoyed tone of voice. Winry got off of him and started to blush. "Sorry, Mr. Grumpy- Ass!" she put sarcastically, with a mix of annoyance.
"So, Is this guy your boy-friend?" asked Ly, who was watching the whole thing. Edward and Winry started to shout a mix of "Hell- No's" which made it look even more obvious. After that, Ed asked"Hey Winry, Who is this kid?" Al also seemed like he wanted to know."He's Lyle " she simply said. Al awkwardly said," Why is he with you?" Ly answered this question for himself. "She saved me when I stole her purse" he looked down on the ground with his golden eyes, and his black short-hair brushing on his face."He was threatened by his boss!" said Winry trying to defend the boy. "What was he going to do?" asked Al who seem to wonder about Lyle. "He was going to burn down my house, but that doesn't matter anymore"
"Because he is going to kill if you go back anyway?" said Edward who seemed to understand the situation."Exactly" Ly, said.
"We won't let that happen to you Lyle, You can stay with us!" Winry offered. Lyle thought about he supposed it was a good idea, He knew Winry would help him, besides he was only ten, so he couldn't take care of himself that well.
"Um, Okay" he finally said. Winry started to shiver she had no coat because she gave hers to Lyle. Ed saw this Imeadiately and took his red coat off and put it on Winry's shoulders.She smiled at him and said a "thank you" and continued to walk.
They made their way to see the Rockbell home in the distance.
