Couldn't sleep last night, can't sleep this morning. That's not the spirit of Spring Break at all! =__=

Mei's--er, my mom's old credit card company's still charging her when she cancelled the account in January. I hate it when I have to write complaint letters to sharks, but NO ONE's charging my mom on a card that's not even supposed to work anymore.

I like to argue. That should be obvious after my creation-evolution debate, the abortion-euthanasia thread, and several liberal-conservative threads.
ANYWAY..
I would suggest a section, maybe a subdirectory of Open Chat, in which people can debate. Of course, there would be rules, otherwise it would just be flame war.

Rules:
-Provide facts and evidence for everything.
-Opinions are moot, only facts and conjectures.

I can see it now: A forum debate over some subject, with two people intellectually duking it out as a mod plays the part of referee.

That would be extremely cool, and I don't know what work it would take, but that would be extremely cool.

- Went out to lunch today with mother, brother, and cousin. mellow.gif
- I wore this coat my mother gave to me as a gift. It's black and white and looks like some abstract painting. My cousin said I look like a pimp in that coat. ph34r.gif
- Will attempt to read more Plato.
- Bought a Vampire Hunter D wallscroll today on impulse. I've never even seen the anime.
- But it was Amano art! His style is so recognizable.
- Yoshitaka Amano = Must-have. Therefore, it is now hanging in my room.
- Yes, I have to satisfy my Amano fangirl urges.

You probably would, but not until you actually figure out how to do it. As a mod though, we cannot ban IPs, unfortunately.

-When the F is somebody gonna help me with KOTOR II Ed is trapped in Nar Shadaa becuase I can't get Visques's message (Didnt name him Ed cause of FMA, but becuase in KOTOR my jedi's name was Phil so I am making a series of normal named hereos)

-Will I get good grades on my report card I am smart but extremely lazy

-Will I ever go back to that warcraft RP board?

-And will I actually do my homework for once in my life?

Current Thoughts

- Got grounded AGAIN for another two months thanks to the wonderful report card, meaning 2 months of no games on the computer *starts to cry*
- I have to somehow put up with 2 months with no SWG. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO LIVE?!?!?
- Starting to think that maybe doing my work and actually studying will help me not get grounded, with min. effort I can get A's B's one C and a D which I think is not bad for the classes I'm taking but....I wonder what'll happen if I actually did al the work and actually put in some time rather than sleeping.

FME just reminded me that my progress report hasn't come in yet. My sister's is here (I mean, really--I'm looking at it on my desk right now...and why is it there, anyway? She's got to pick up after herself... -__-;;), all my friends have theirs...they were supposed to come in earlier last week. And I didn't even hide it myself, either--not like I would, but it still worries me that the poor thing is MIA.

message to everyone: DON'T USE OTHER PEOPLE'S FANART FOR YOUR LAYOUTS, SIGS AND/OR AVATARS WITHOUT THE ARTIST'S PERMISSION! it's plain rude and leads to a lot of frustrated artists closing down their very nice fanart sites and deviantart pages. a lot of sites have a link to this site: http://www3.to/ofp/. please read it and respect it.

sorry, it's a peeve of mine. rolleyes.gif plus i'm a little cranky because both my parents are coming home soon (and it's only 6:30). mom got a flat tire in the intel parking lot, and the AMD building doesn't have electricity, bah. not that much homework today, though.

i wish. happy.gif; like i said, both of my parents will be home soon. my mom usually comes home around this time and we're cool, but my dad is the traditional if-you-have-no-homework-go-study dad, and usually he comes home around 11:30, eats dinner, reads the paper, and sleeps, but he'll have more time to watch over me tonight. ph34r.gif so i may not be as active as usual.

Ahh, I understand that well. My father is almost the exact same way. ph34r.gif When I first started living on my own, my mother was worried and sent my father here. He just eats meals, reads the paper, and sleeps. Occasionally, he comes to check on me. Good thing he doesn't know much about computers or the Internet, since I'm not always doing homework 100% of the time, so I can always claim that I am working on school work. biggrin.gif

my folks were like that when i was younger, but i found a little trick that i pulled off when i was just entering college. go out and get yourself a bunch of loans, or better yet a scholarship if possible. make sure to get enough to cover your living expenses as well... now you are self sufficient... when they give you problems, tell them this...

now the key here is not to budge one bit; for every concession they want you to make, make even more severe and insane demands. eventually your mother will make your father cave....

always bet on human nature, and mothers will almost never turn on their children... you just have to make them understand that while you are still their daughter, you are NOT their child anymore...

NOTE: this takes massive balls to pull off right and is a rather extreme measure, but 95% of the time it will work; my cousins saw me do it and followed suit when they came of age.... which incidentally got me alot of flack for many years at family functions.

Easier said than done. laugh.gif But at least now that we have your recommendation regarding this method, we probably won't hesitate to try.

i'll probably end up taking the trade-off where i have to deal with my parents in return for their financial support. their deal is that i stay obedient to them and they'll pay for my college and other expenses. i'm planning on going to art school, which sure as hell isn't cheap, and i didn't apply for any financial aid (because they'd laugh at my application and turn me down). i don't think i'm capable of fully supporting myself, and if i tried confronting my dad about something like that, i'd be beaten into a nice bloody pulp before being kicked out of the family. it'll be awhile before i can support myself financially....my sister's 24 and in law school, and she won't be able to start making enough money as a lawyer to support herself for awhile (considering the weekly shopping trips, expensive apartment, vacations to mexico....).

i only have about $200 in my checking account and $6000 in my savings, anyway. most of the savings is my own money (art contest prize money, red envelopes, etc), but it wouldn't last too long. my family's senile, irrational, and annoying, but they're bearable. and i'm so close to going far far away for college! biggrin.gif
