If Ed and the other alchemists don't believe in God, how come they believe in souls? huh.gif

the story wouldn't be soo interesting^^

I think they don't believe in 'soul' as religion states it; they just use this term.

- Just had the most beautiful dream..

Current Thoughts:

- Got my haircut today. It's shorter and feels odd. I guess I'll get used to it.
- FINALLY saw a doctor. He believes that my pains are just muscle pain, but now I'm being sent to get x-rays.
- 1000-word poetry analysis is still undone. Due Monday. Ugh.
- I have work tomorrow! I don't want work tomorrow! They'll drive me insane, those children!
- Give or take a month or two before said children starts calling me the Black Widow on a permanent basis. I'm not THAT old! I'm barely 20! AHHHHHHH!!!

Thoughts:
- I just did my laundry and my sister's
- and then, suddenly when I put all her stuff back to place, the racks just went "plop" like that, so it's a messy closet over there..

- Mom's been unofficially diagnosed with bone cancer. She's going to be admitted at the hospital this evening... I really hope she's going to be alright...
- I've been having comp and family trouble these two past weeks, hence my [disturbing] absence.

But welcome back! We've missed you! *hugs*

biggrin.gif Thanks, guys. Well, the doctors aren't sure about the whole diagnosis so there's still hope. smile.gif I'm gonna keep thinking positive, no matter what. And I missed you guys too! Feels great to be back again.

biggrin.gif;; And I'll mind my flooding from now on. tongue.gif

i'm sorry for your mom!! Hope she'll get alright soon!! I know a little bit how you feel(my father is 82)...

And welcome back, Kase I missed you so much!!^^

Omakase Shimasu
Thanks, Prinz!! And I missed you too~ *huggles*

*sighs* Well, we just got back from the hospital. Mom will be staying there for some time. Dad thinks it's gonna be at least one week, though we're not sure since the doctors never said anything about it. sad.gif When Mom said goodbye she told me (all of us) that she loved me, but I never said anything back. I just hugged her and tried not to cry.

Gods, I feel so stupid. Why didn't I say anything? No, "I love you too" or anything!! ....I'm gonna see her tomorrow again though... so...

If you need someone for that online, I could volunteer for that! laugh.gif I've tripped going up/down stairs, rolled off mattresses at night, banged my head on multiple walls (by accident), whacked my head on those metal suitcase racks on trains multiple times, crashed into or stepped on every sharp object possible with bare feet, had random objects fall on me...(so far I haven't actually broken/sprained/twisted/or lost anything laugh.gif )

And Kase-san, I hope your mom feels better...It feels really horrible when you know someone precious is ill and might disappear soon... sad.gif (I hope I'm not being too insensitive...)

Gods, I feel so stupid. Why didn't I say anything? No, "I love you too" or anything!! ....I'm gonna see her tomorrow again though... so...

Yes, we missed you much, Kase. smile.gif

It's all right if you didn't say anything. You were probably too caught up by the moment, and couldn't voice your feelings. I'm sorry you have to go through this. sad.gif
dreamcatcher_alchemist
kase, I'm so sorry about your mom. I'll keep you, and your family in my thoughts and prayers!

hey kase, my sympathies. a couple of my family members died alsp, and it hurts. I know its corny but i got a lot of uh...inspirational support from FMA. Its just nice to see them going on and applying themselves to a respectful goal and doing whatever it takes to do it, even if they are fictional, the lessons they learn are worthwhile too. its just that i dont know any human being in reality that really deserves that kind of respect, so i'm reduceed to worshipping fictional characters

althe
Of course!

I'm probably going to be too lazy to change anyways. It'll be a great excuse to go to school in a messy fashion laugh.gif
wolfi1412
hey, which way is the correct way to spell 'PJ's"? pyjamas or pajamas?
xrninja
both are okay, i think. i spell it "pajama" because i learned it like that and it makes a lot more sense to spell it like that tongue.gif

-still need to read malcolm x's "homeboy" and f. scott fitzgerald's "the crack-up" for lang, bleh. fitzgerald is interesting to read, though, "the great gastby" was pretty good (hated myrtle, tom, and daisy). i'd like to read "the beautiful and the damned" sometime.

-still need to do physics and japanese nikki too. i'm just going to angst about college stuff for the 10 sentences of my nikki (daily journal) seeing as that's in the vocab we need to use anyway.

-damn it!! still need to interview and finish my article for newpaper. although we have a minimum day tomorrow w/ block schedule so i don't have 4th period newspaper. but i do have to go to 3rd period's staff's deadline night, hopefully i can just avoid my editors.

-still avoiding telling my dad my sat score. he does know they came out because collegeboard's server crashed and our chinese newspaper decided to write an article on it. damn you, shi jie ri bao.

-kase, best wishes for your mom. and gashole, feel free to beat me up and throw me out the window =P

- we didn't have any hw.. until my French teacher gave a bunch of worksheets.

finally told my parents my SATII scores and somehow survived the deafening yelling. have sufficiently cried eyes out now, i can hardly see @_@ i found that they don't get as angry when you act as equally angry with yourself as they are and agree with them that yes, you are an idiot, yes, you can't do anything right, yes, you are a failure in life and don't deserve to live here, etc.

the ironic part is that now my dad has decided that i'm not going to apply to as many colleges for business and focus on art schools, because art (and martial arts, but that doesn't really count) is my only real talent and hope for living a decent, unstarving life in the future. that's so ironic, i've been trying to get him to think like that for months. but now he's pushing towards architecture, which i really don't have much of an interest in, but beggars <read: failures> can't be choosers and something art related is always good. and if i get into risd all this crap will be worth it.
Quistis88
*gives xrninja a hug* I'm sorry to hear that you have to go through all that.

Parents are nuts like that. My mother often tells me that she calls me stupid because she wants me to sort of "rebel against my doom" and do well to prove that "I am not stupid."

But I hope that those parents that think like that know that there are times when that sort of psychology backfires. Tell someone enough of something, and they may start to really believe it. Most children grow up hearing those verbal insults and end up having very low self-esteem, if at all. I'm one of those children . . .
xrninja
my dad doesn't say it to use reverse psychology, he says it because he means it happy.gif;; yeah, i don't really have that fond of a childhood for that reason. nothing i ever did was right and whatever i did wrong i got yelled at and smacked for quite heavily (A-'s come to mind. if you lived where i live it'd be understandable and quite normal). i have huuuge dark bags under my eyes because i cried aaall the time when i was little, and the damn bags still won't go away....which is why i wear glasses and not contacts. i guess i turned out pretty normal considering the bringing-up, but i don't get along with him very well and my family problems are a lot to blame for my lapses of depression. i also fluctuate between having a huge ego and having zero self-esteem, but all the criticism in art helps flatten my ego and karate helps bring up my self-esteem. and for everything else religion keeps me going, so i don't take all the harsh words to heart. if i did i wouldn't have survived 17.5 years in this house blink.gif

quistis, you're not stupid. you know it. smile.gif
Quistis88
Thank you, xrninja. smile.gif You're definitely not dumb either.

I understand what you mean about the harsh childhood. I never really cried much despite it all though. Then again, my mother tells me that even as a newborn baby, I never did cry much. But it is quite hard not to take at least a little of the comments personally. It IS directed at oneself, after all.

I wear glasses instead of contacts, too, mostly due to the fact that I look better with glasses, and the occasional circles under my eyes from sleep deprivation. tongue.gif And I don't like the notion of having to put something IN my eye. I heard contacts can freeze to your eyes in the winter. It happened to a friend once . . . biggrin.gif

Speaking of sleep, I should get some now. I had 4 hours of sleep last night. tongue.gif

Or mostly Asian parents, I guess, who are more involved in their kids' education more than anyone else. Good thing my mom is more laid back. I could major in clowning and she wouldn't care. biggrin.gif
Elderberry
Yeah..a lot of Asian parents are like that. It's pretty frustrating though...they won't realize that not everyone has the wonderful talent of spitting out extremely complicated math problems and thousands of history details... >_<

gotta love bayer, i always keep a little bottle of the original strength kind on my desk.

-i don't think my dad understands that the more private schools i apply to, the more essays i have to write. ugh.
-on the bright side....i fell asleep around 12 and woke up at 1:45, realizing i had yet to write my lang essay. then i churned out a pretty good personal narrative in one hour, and i think that i can use it as a college essay except it's 1,161 words and not 600-800. bleeh.
-haven't done any of my calc hw yet. but we have some "code red' intruder drill tomorrow and we're going to sit under the desks in the dark for an hour and a half, so i can do it then. it's supposed to prepare us for columbine-esque situations, but i'm not sure how much sitting under a desk will do.
-ailuro-- practice exit exams? do you live in california? if you're talking about the CA exit exams, don't worry about it. at all. that was the easiest standardized test i ever took and my school had 99% of the students my year pass math and 98% pass verbal. wow, i had no idea they made practice tests for that thing. but it's ridiculously easy, you'll see. smile.gif

- I actually got a passing grade on my essay. The first of three! I feel so intelligent. xD

- My frined sprained her ankle playing tennis. Now I can't give back her manga until she comes back to school...

xrninja-- Nope. I live in Washington. In order to pass Language Arts 10, we have to take an exit exam at the end of the semester. The whole sophomore class has to write a compare and contrast essay in order to move into the next level of Language Arts. Even if you have an A in the class, if you fail the exit exam, you have to take the class over along with the junior language arts class. And so we were doing practice exit exams from Monday to Wednesday. I'm done with mine. :3 Last year I didn't pass the first one, luckily there's 3 chances to take it over and so I eventually passed it. @_@
Thievesvinegar
hmm we have to take an exit exam to graduate. Your exam sounds a bit harsh ailuro,, so if your failing the class but paass the exam you can go up to the next level? Some school in the US don't even have enough books to function and guess what they do, add more tests.

Hey, I'm back again. First of all, thanks for all the support. ^ ^ You guys are so nice.

@Thieves: I'm sorry to hear about your family. And I understand what you mean about the fictional characters, it isn't corny at all. It really can give you the mental support you need, just like writing your thoughts and feelings down when it's all too much to handle. Thanks for pointing that one out though, since I never thought about it that way. ^ ^

@Quistis: I made up for it twice afterwards. "I love you too", "I love you too".

Well, Mom had to go to another hospital today, to see if she really had bone cancer. The doctors said they were almost positive, but they still needed to do a few more tests (it's really beginning to frustrate me now - stupid moronic tests), hence her going to the hospital in Leiden where the medics are more specialized when it comes to these things. She needs to stay the night and hopefully she can come home while we wait for the results... Dad's really concerned about her, though... Dammitdammit.

- Mall is only 5 minutes away! I love where I live.
- I want ice cream. Yet it's winter.

In older manga, people fall over when they re surprised, showing only their upside down legs and wipe their sweat with a handkerchief that appear out of nowhere on the next panel. It used to be a cliche, but none of the newer manga has that anymore and I actually miss it.
Kasumi
Now that you mention it, it really has been a long time since I've seen any manga characters fall over or wipe sweat with a handkerchief that appeared out of no where. I miss it too...They were kinda funny...(in a way)
