I definitely know how irritating it can be when a cat keeps bothering you...but they're so darn cute!@Lucky Lucy
Don't be afraid to wear your hair in pigtails! If you like it like that, then wear it like that! @Pyroclasm
It's awesome that you got OoT3D! And I hope your mum feels better soon! @Mhacy
I won't go into much detail since this is just the penny thread, but perhaps both of the quotes are arguably alluding almost to the same thing? If you only have one
idea, as you say, it could be dangerous because you'll have nothing to fall back on should that idea fail. Similarly, with Oscar Wilde's quote, if all great
ideas are dangerous, then arguably it could imply that if someone has a great
idea, they'll fail to come up with any others. And that great idea can always fail; you just don't know until after it's done. In that way it could relate to Alain's quote. But that's going only by the quotes themselves. (I'd love to expand this thought, but I don't want to go into so much detail in this thread.) It may help if you read the original works of these people; Wilde's quote comes from one of his works De Profundis
. It could potentially
give a little bit of context and it can also help you tune yourself into their way of thinking. I'm always up for a good philosophical discussion, so if you'd like to PM me (so that we can also avoid chat/debate on this thread), that'd be fine.
- I've been having much better night's sleep for the past day or so! It feels great to be properly rested.
I think it all eventually just caught up to me! xD
- It's nearing the day on which I'll be the collecting the keys --along with my two friends --for our new house! I'm actually looking forward to moving in later this year. And I'm also looking forward to doing the shopping for it. xD
- I saw an old friend earlier today --I haven't seen her in years. We were best friends at primary school but after we went to different high schools, we sort of drifted apart. I didn't recognise her at first, but then it became clear, especially when she recognised me and stopped to talk to me.
It was actually pretty awkward...
"Hey, how've you been?"
"All right, just on my summer break from uni."
"I'm going to uni later this year!"
"What're you going to study?"
"Oh, that's good!"
"Well, I'm going to go now."
You really wouldn't have thought we were ever best friends, going by that awkward meeting. xD;;
- I know it's not the 4th of July there yet (not quite here, either, actually!) but I want to wish all those from the US here a very happy Fourth of July; I hope you all have some great, fun celebrations!
