Disasterpiece--Colleges usually have a pretty good system for informing students of what they need to know. If you think you're missing anything, I'm sure there's tons of people/places you can go to for help. You'll be fine. Just relax.

Razzy--I lived in a dorm jokingly called "Hogwarts" last year! But I'm on the west coast.

--Everyone I know is headed off to college and I'm stuck here for another month. Stupid quarter system.

--The city libraries have extended the check-out period to five weeks (YAY!) in order to accommodate the 3-week closure of one library for repairs, as well as the normal 1-week closure (Stupid budget cuts. x2) at the beginning of September.

- Spending a day lazying around next to the sea, with a day off work, is completely great. Especially when your relatives feed you until you feel like exploding. Too bad for the couple of jellyfishes that ruined the swimming part of it (as we didn't want to risk getting any bites).
- I have a long weekend off work and it feels great I can't wait for the first week of September to come - I have another week off there And come to think of it, I might keep the leave to transfer to next year or next - long holiday in mind.
- It's too hot here these day, too hot... I do like summer and stuff (mainly for the half-days at work) but seriously? All this heat? Geez...

-For all us Little League baseball fans: Yay for Pearland,TX advancing (the team that's a couple minutes up the road from where I live)! Minnesota put forth a great effort yesterday though, especially with that grand slam in the final inning. The Japan v. Mexico game though... that was a shocker! Amazing comeback by Japan in the final inning! >:D Caught two games today on espn, am missing the georgia v. hawaii game (though I really want to catch it right now), but I'm most looking forward to see Chinese Taipei up against Saudi Arabia.

Good news is that the server on which our board is connected to has been moved to a new facility, thanks to our generous web master, and now we're back in business! ^^ Sorry again for the time the board was down this week!

On a good side, I think the Judging Panel for our "Arakawa Appreciation" fanart contest has reached their decisions and we are nearing the announcement of the winners. We had amazing number of awesome entries in this contest, and I really appreciate our Judges for their great works in choosing all the winners! ^^ Barring any more interruptions, like the board being down ^_^u I think we will see the winner announcement within a next day or so. ^^


Also, just letting you guys know that this month's Shounen GanGan had the re-print of FMA chapter 108 and hence most of FMA fans in Japan had the chance to read the final chapter of FMA now, and hence...sometime soon we'll be switching to a "modified" (less strict ^^) Spoiler policy regarding FMA series final spoilers. First to Chiyo with your kind words... thank you, and it's absolutely awesome, especially in a time like this month when I was rather sick for a large chunk of month, that knowing I can totally trust it to your capable hands to keep the forums in a good shape when I'm not 100%.

Relatedly, thank you, jacksparrow589, A Pierrot's Aria, Razzy, Carmencita, FMAobsessed, sidekick.kep37 (and sorry if I missed anyone... ^^) for your kind words for our board staff who are volunteers but work hard for the love of our board to keep our board a nice to place for everyone, and it's really nice to see that they get some words of appreciations sometime from our members for all they do for our board. ^^

Additionally, various board team volunteers work very had to keep this board a nice place for everyone, and yes, I think they deserve all the credit! And they get my full appreciations for all they do for our board. ^^

- I was playing Pokemon SoulSilver version, searching for a Yanma on Route 35, when I happened across a shiny Nidoran female, the first shiny I have encountered in my HG/SS games. (Apart from the obvious shiny Gyarados) Deja Vu. The first shiny Pokemon I ever encountered (again, apart from Gyarados) was a shiny Nidoran female in my Silver version. Same Route and everything... Can that really be called a coincidence?

- Also caught the Yanma I wanted. But it had a lousy nature and didn't have the ability I wanted. So I bred it with a Ditto and I'm raising the resulting baby.

- I have a puppy sleeping in my lap. <3 She's kinda hard to type around...

- It was actually sunny today! First day it hasn't rained in over a week. It was a nice change.

Ev and Iv training I assume? That's usually far too much a hassle for me. Though I do have a friend who has a ditto of each nature, so she can breed exceedingly well.

Right now I'm playing a game called "Shoddy battle". You can make a team, choose the attacks of the pokes and divide the IV'S, DV's and what ever you need. Since you don't need to train pokes, just "make" them (also choosing natures), all what counts is battle. You fight against people online and the aim is to overpower the other team. Legendaries are usually not allowed. It's fun! Try it out! PM me and we can play or I can tell you how it works!

@Little Washu - I don't worry too much about EVs and IVs at this stage of the game; I only worry about them once I get to the Battle Frontier. I just like to make sure my party Pokemon don't have natures that may hinder their natural abilities, that's all. That, and I wanted a Yanma with Speed Boost, and it was too much of a bother to try to find and catch another one. (Since it has a 1% encounter rate.) Breeding was an easier option.

@Disasterpiece - Hand Banana seems like a creepy name for a puppy. But maybe that's just me and my twisted mind...

@black~hayate - I've heard of Shoddy Battle before, though I've never tried it. I've no doubt I'd get beaten spectacularly, since I have little experience battling against human opponents...

- It decided to rain when I went to feed the cattle today. And when I say rain, I mean it rained/hailed. It came on so suddenly, and the wind was so fierce! And of course, once I finally made it inside, it stopped. I was soaked and freezing, so I took a shower and cuddled up by the fire in a warm dressing gown, with a mug of hot chocolate. Cozy! ~

Well, I started my first day of college today. 8D! It might have been a little lame that I asked dad to stick around with me while I still got used to it, but, I'd say it was worth it; I would've wound up lost like some of the other freshmen in the place. I was still so nervous, though; I even skipped the fifteen minutes of lunchtime we had and sat in front of the next classroom I had to go to doodling, trying to get the edge off. ;A; But, all in all, I guess I had a good day. The classes were pretty well-paced for being two hours long, and the teachers actually knew what they were doing (something that my old school at times lacked, despite being so 'prestigious'). My parents were happy that I actually liked it, even if I was a bit of a mess. ^^

Satoshi Kon died yesterday. He was 46 (very close to his 47th birthday), and lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. He was known for his work such as Millennium Actress, Paprika, Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfathers, Paranoia Agent, ect. He also had another movie in the works, "The Dream Machine" (or something like that)

I, for one, am very sad to see someone so important to the anime world go. He was like Miyazaki, but with a psycho twist. I hope someone close to him finishes his final movie.

- I get the feeling I've missed something today... Something I usually do... What day is it today? Thursday... Thursday... Oh! Zero Punctuation!

I got an aspiration on my cyst (on my wrist) today. It was so painful! I don't wanna get into details, 'cause it's graphic. Just gonna say: I was poked with a huge needle twice, but it still did nothing. @.@

Even though I usually have an extremely high tolerance for pain, I was so close to fainting. T^T Now I can't use my hand for 3 days. Bawww. D:

- I hate typing with one hand.
- I've been drawing so much lately. It sucks to take a break.
- Oh! I do feel better though, since I'm gonna see Avenue Q tonight! Wheeee! 8D

--My "children are so precious" moment of the day: In "paying" for a "meal" at the "restaurant" of the little girl I was babysitting, she chose what I'd use as money. The last thing she gave me was a baby doll, and when I gave it to her, she pretended I'd given her a baby as payment, and acted as though this was completely natural! I just about cracked up.

--Poems, camp songs, puzzles, Chutes and Ladders, and Memory were also a part of our day today. It was fun, and she's such an easy kid to watch. Too bad I don't get to anymore.

--It is windy as heck here! Sheesh, what is this?

--I seriously wanna make 7-layer bars right now, but my parents control the chocolate supply, and I need chocolate. (Do I know where it is? Maybe, but if I did, I wouldn't wanna tip them off, would I?)

-I got my uni starter pack through the post and got my offer for accommodation. I feel homesick already and I haven't even moved out yet! I just looked at the tips they offer to avoid feeling homesick (like bringing a few favourite things) and felt like crying. I'm such a baby! What's worse is that I have to move in earlier than I thought even though my course starts at the end of September...But still, it's exciting at the same time...

All this time I was hoping I wasn't going to be put in a creepy hall of residence...and then what does it end up being? A Victorian mansion. But that's kinda cool. Especially since I'm such a history nut...perhaps unis like to dump all their history students in old/historical buildings? xD

-I thought I was going mad at first, a while ago, every time I went to the main page something had moved and I'm sat thinking "Was that FMA info shrine there before?" etc. But it looks so much more organised now!

CT:

- I. HATE. HOT. WEATHER. Can't wait for the 50 degree temps as a high to come back, let alone the -12's.... I'd rather be cold than hot and sweaty.

- There's a bird outside my window that sounds like a baby crying.... the feck....

- I won 25 bucks on a 3 dollar scratch ticket... hooray for winning big! XD Man though if I had an R in this bunch, the scratch ticket was a puzzle one, I'd have one 40,000 I hate the letter R....
