Chi: Yikes! Sorry to hear about the accident. I'm glad you and the other party are okay. I'll agree that the bad timing is terribly frustrating. Would it help to explain the new situation with your maybe-employers?

Two of my brother's friends showed up unexpectedly to play Rock Band and I, being the only one home, entertained them for an hour when I should be working on a paper (yes, it's due tomorrow). My resolve is too weak.

It also doesn't help that I spent ~half an hour earlier today reading the Senior Memory Book that I wrote/made in the last year of high school. I actually haven't read it since I put it together, and I must say, I kept myself thoroughly amused. It's like talking to myself, only better thought out and more interesting. tongue.gif

Wow. I just got an achievement award (and cheque) for Philosophy. A slap to the face would have been less of a suprise.

I feel bad, I bought this book for my friend for Christmas last night (and met some smelly, creepy drunk man in the book store, which was oodles of fun), and I was sitting down about to wrap it when I stopped to just have a glance at the first page.... Two hours later I'd read the whole book.
Whoops. I just won't say anything to her (shhh!).

Meh, I have to go raid my kitchen, my stomach is about to eat itself.

MEEP! What kind of sick pervert would even want to read that kind of stuff? That's just...disgusting... *shudders*

It didn't even say what series it was the guy bought (unless you're talking about the Peach Girl article in which case you may wan to look up the title and find that the news article wasn't telling the whole truth.)

Last night I walked down to the AM/PM gas station which is just around the corner from our house and these three mexican guys tried to harass me.

Creepy? Yes. One of them kept asking me for a quarter in a voice that sounded very much like the Joker's from 'the Dark Knight', then went on that he was getting angry because I wouldn't give him a quarter.

I ignored them, but they followed me to the bus stop, then left me alone when they went in the opposite direction up the street towards Wal-Mart.

I told my dad and he wanted to hunt them down. Heh. He swears that for my 18th birthday, I'll be getting a gun and will learn how to use it. How nice.

One of the comics found by Problem Solver Nancy Alvarez...

I wonder, is "Problem Solver" her job title? I mean, it did merit capital letters. She must be a pretty important person, with a career of selectively summarizing very vanilla preteen comic books to make them sound like racy HBO series.

Huzzah! It's snowing for the first time this year right now! It's only been going for an hour, but we've already gotten 5 cm (2 inches). And the winds are s'posed to pick up to 90 Km/h (45 Mp/h) soon! Blizzard, woooo!

*Is hyper about this 'cause she lives somewhere that it doesn't snow often.*

You don't need a car to go long distances you know. Take a bus, get a ride, ride a bike... In times like this you shouldn't use excuses to pass up a job opportunity.

Some jobs require you to have a car, 'tard.

Obviously I meant that you don't need a car to get to work... buddy.

A lot of the time you DO need a car to get to work. Do you even have a job?

Apparently the question should be 'Do I even have a car?'

I was in a smash yesterday. I walked away with minor bruises, as did the woman in the other car. However, that's the end of my car, and if I get offered that job I went for an interview for I'll have to turn it down as I needed a car.

I must have been such a vile piece of work in a previous life, karma's catching up.

How do I put this hmmm? The job was an evening job that involved me driving round a group of kids. Do you think they'll want me now? No, and the job required me to have a car because I'd need to get to rural areas where there is no transport...unless you know a way of carrying 5 teenagers on a bike?

I'm not PERMITTED the job anymore because I don't HAVE A CAR, oh and I was in a crash. Crystal now?

mei: See above, just ignore the anger part, driving was alas the most important part of the job and I don't even have the confidence to be responsible for others lives now anyway.

I was in a smash yesterday. I walked away with minor bruises, as did the woman in the other car. However, that's the end of my car, and if I get offered that job I went for an interview for I'll have to turn it down as I needed a car.

I must have been such a vile piece of work in a previous life, karma's catching up.

You don't need a car to go long distances you know. Take a bus, get a ride, ride a bike... In times like this you shouldn't use excuses to pass up a job opportunity.

How do I put this hmmm? The job was an evening job that involved me driving round a group of kids. Do you think they'll want me now? No, and the job required me to have a car because I'd need to get to rural areas where there is no transport...unless you know a way of carrying 5 teenagers on a bike?

- Had a final this afternoon. Weekend exams should be illegal. Silver lining: I think I did well on this one. And, apparently, I did really, very well on that paper that I spent all night writing--the one that was due the day I was going home for Thanksgiving, which I almost didn't finish in time because of the power outage early that morning and the traffic/rain on the way to school.
- Had a bad dream last night which woke me up, thinking that people outside my window were calling my name and feeling like there was an earthquake or some such emergency that was causing the building the shake. I actually woke up to check around the house, since neither of my roommates were home. Silver lining: It took me forever to stir up the energy just to get out of bed, which reminded me that wearing my sleeping robe in bed makes me exhausted because it impedes movement and feels strangely heavy. Better that I figured this out earlier in the night than in the morning, when I needed to get up and study for today's final.
- Have two papers due on Monday. Silver lining: They're shorter than the last two I had to write...?

Thanks to the rest of you for the well wishes. Hopefully by the end of today I'll know if my car is a complete write off or not. If it is, I will get money even if its no-where near what I paid for the car. And I can still drive, so it's not like I can never clamber in a car again.

My heart goes out to those in those ice storms I heard about on the news, magical as snow can be it looked pretty horrific in places. Considering Britain grounds to a halt under 2 inches of snow, I can't imagine what it's like.

What a scary dream, its been a long while since a dream woke me up.
It's been a long time since I actually remember any of my dreams...though I did end up remembering a dream from the night after that one. (Last night's dream? Time is a little foggy for me right now.) In it, I was walking with a friend to my parents' house, though it's not our real house because in my dream, we had moved. It was one of those dreams where I couldn't find me way home, which sometimes caused me to wake up all teary-eyed because I was lost and missed my parents. (Not this time, though.) (And the dream-mei was fully aware that the move only occurred in the dream-world, and that trying to remember the city's layout in real life wouldn't help at all.)

One paper down. I think I did terribly. I thought that one would be easier than the one I had set aside for afterwards (since the deadline is a good half-day later) -- but it wasn't. I feel bad about submitting sub-par work, but that's what I get for being unable to focus on more than one big assignment at a time. And for procrastinating.

I hope it turns out that I'm being overly critical. That happens a lot. Knowing this about myself doesn't really help lower the stress, though.

Edit [3 hrs later]: I think that last paper (the one I managed to write in 3 hours) was the easiest of all my papers this semester. And, surprisingly, I'm also sorta satisfied with it. I will enjoy the next two hours of attempted sleep in my ice-block bed.

Its only considered a total if you bent your car frame. But then again even if you don't total the vehicle the repair cost might be high too. And with these new cars, self repair is getting harder.

Chiyo- I live in the Pacific Northwest. Lovely place, but the city I live in is very hilly. If even an inch of snow freezes (which is the situation right now), schools delay their start times or even cancel. We just can't get there in time.

Still, I feel I have relatively little to complain about. We've got power and we're able to get places that need to be gotten. Anybody who's stuck in the Midwest and the Northeast (if I have my weather reports right) has far more to complain about than I do.

But it was no fun sprinting two rather long blocks to catch the bus today. Why did I opt not to drive in, anyway?

The front of my car was a giant V shape as she hit me dead centre at such speed (her drivers side hence the shape). I've already been informed its most likely a write off as yes, the frame will have been bent. It's 10 years old too, I only paid the price I did because it was in amazing condition and low mileage. As scrap, that won't be counted. I dunno, my Uncle is a trained Vauxhall mechanic so if the insurance don't let me know soon he's going to take a look and he'll be able to estimate.

Jack: Icy and hilly, nightmare of a combination I can imagine.

Well depending on your insurance, and what you put in it you will hopefully get money back. I don't personally know so I wish the best of the luck to you. Last vehicle I scrapped this spring, I was close to 400 bucks. (but me and a buddy towed it into Pennsylvania to a scrap yard that had high scrap prices). So I'll let you do the math from there.

Are you looking for some kind of beater car now or what?

A while ago. But I guess no one really cared enough about them to look through them all...

Anime club Christmas party was epically amazing. When I say epically amazing, I mean it. DDR battles ensued, a famous worker from Hot Topic participated, and soon it was so hot in the MAC room the A.C. went on. Jesse found a dragon head off of a Chinese parade thing, and somehow 1/4 of the people in the room managed to squeeze into it. It was incredibly loud, but in a good way. A few times I laughed so hard a fell to the floor. There was also some strip-down, guy/guy slow dancing to "Say Goodbye" by Chris Brown, and cake balls(don't ask).
...
It was fun =D.

CTs- stream-of-consciousness style:

So, yesterday, I had no school because, even though there was only a little snow on the ground, the weather service predicted that there was going to be major snowfall during the day.

Well, they were wrong. In fact, all the snow that was on the ground melted!

Then, the weather service predicted minor snowfall last night and this morning. It's been snowing for about three hours and we have 3 inches, and it's still coming down! (It's little, powedery stuff.) So, no school today, probably not tomorrow, either... I'll see. If not, break has started three days early.

I don't know how I'm feeling about this. Part of me is happy to not have school, but I'm also tired of being cooped up. I should get out and take a walk.

But first, breakfast.

(Added just after noon PST)

So, the snow was supposed to stop at ten. I dunno, but looking out my window, I still see that white, flaky stuff falling. We've got almost 6 inches, and no sign of stopping. Sure, it's pretty, but I'm probably not going to get my Christmas shopping done on time this year. This is what we have UPS for, right?

Ahhhh Finals. MHmmm fun stuff right? WRONG!

This is my last day of semester and I am just sitting in a class doing absolutely nothing at all. We have Hours 1,3,5, and 7 today. Why cant they just freaking Make it a half day *sadface*
