You can buy a deck of cards at gas stations and such for not even $2, might as well just go for the whole set.

. . . and
arche's alive!
Yes, I'm still alive. Update on me:
New job - almost three months...after 3 months, I can show off my bad side

nice office with the job - finally have a decent view of a building that's been demolished. I got to see it go down in a week - pretty nice how they tore it down. I'm enjoying my view of debris

. Down side is my office is on the same path as the medivac helipad for the hospital next door - damn thing is loud! Too many people need to be medivaced into the hospital next door.
I've been better at reading my greek new testament. Using my analytic lexicon with all those pesky words used less than 50 times. Plus the words used more than 50 are in the apendex. If only Paul wrote better - the guy liked to cram so many words between the definite article and the particple. John was so much better.
Looked at my theological german reader again. Reminded of how much I've forgotten about german. I miss german though. I really want to learn it again, but my only real time to learn is on the train.
Started looking into learning some Japanese - something I swore I wouldn't do. I guess I don't like languages that have secrets so I started to learn the hiragana. I'm starting to get the katakana and some kanji. I don't really care about speaking it, but it's fun to recognize some things. The grammar is interesting from what I've seen so far. I don't like honorifics and the whole male/female differences. I'm just too american that way.
Baby is now 14 months and walking around. She's not talking words much, but likes sounds. The older one is 8 and driving me nuts - but that's what I love about her.
Aniversary is tomorrow - 13 years. My wife has to work tomorrow night, so we won't be able to do anything - in fact we'll probably only see each other for less than an hour tomorrow.
I'm also thinking of reading up on medival philosophy again. For some reason it calls to me, but I don't feel like carrying the extra book on the train. I just loved how those who wanted to mimic Aristotle when they actually mis-attributed neo-platonic texts to Aristotle LOL.
that's more than anyone wanted to know.

Great ending, "Coach" was awesome, drama was stupid and funny (I'm told this was intended) and the cast wasn't terrible. Fansercive was kind stupid though. Not bad over all but nothing great. Interesting to see how Gainax have progressed if nothing else.

It has the normal MPC window but the "screen" is black so I only get audio and it opens up another window to play the video. I know there's a way to have it work in a more logical manner.

-Right there with Blitz on the summer readings. In the order I read mine, they were sad, odd and somewhat plotless, and mildly amusing. And I have to take a test on some part of this reading when school starts.
-I also have summer AP Calculus homework, most of which has basically shown me that I need to remember how to do stuff, or else... Calculus will NOT be fun this year.
-I had a REALLY weird dream last night. Can't remember what it was, but I was really upset from it when I woke up.
-Why oh WHY is it going to hit 90 over the weekend? I have to work on Saturday and Sunday! Well, at least the building is air-conditioned. *knocks on wood and crosses fingers* (Where I live, going into the 90's Fahrenheit is not unheard of, but pretty rare- maybe a week collectively out of the whole summer do we hit temperatures that high. It's horrible because nobody has air conditioning except commercial areas.)

Ah dear God, I start up at college tomorrow. I'm scared to death. Though as of right now, the pros outweigh the cons...I only go three days a week, two of those days I get out one hour earlier than normal schools do, I get an hour long lunch period [as opposed to the barely 30 minute period in high school], and the chances of seeing people I know are high, due to taking general studies.
I'm still nervous, though.
On a lighter note, I'm finally bothering to download Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. I saw the first four or five episodes at places like Veoh and CrapTube, but now I'm gonna stop being lazy and just download the first series in one sitting. Then I'll bother with Zoku.

You know it's excessivley hot in your neighborhood when:
-Even the wind is warm.
-The AC brings the temperature in the car DOWN to 90, so you're still sweating within about 30 seconds of getting in.

I personally don't think it would be doing so well as it is without Heath Ledger kicking it. I mean, I'm certain the movie is good, and that it would still be a box-office hit were he still alive...but I don't think it would be doing as phenomenally well as it is if it wasn't his final film.
Myself? I plan on seeing it here soon, just so I don't feel so left out. I also plan on going around saying how badly I despise it, whether or not I actually wind up liking it or not, just to tick off 95 percent of the world's population.

Had Heath not died, the film definitely would have been successful, but you have to admit that it has been severely over-hyped because of his death. I've seriously never seen the world act so freakin' excited about a
Batman movie before.
I'm going to wait a little longer before I see it. I want to re-watch the Jack Nicholson Batman before I see it so I can compare and contrast (because I'm just a geek like that). I also haven't seen the first Christian Bale Batman movie yet (I know, cardinal sin), so I should probably go see that.
