You'd be surprised. I mean, there's constantly stories of scam artists pretending that they or someone they know has cancer [or some other "incurable" disease] to get money. Plus, over the internet, it's harder to know for sure.

My family has communication issues. 
Long story short:
My brother went to Boston for a meeting, my Dad got pissed off because he assumed that no one told him about the trip (not true! My mom said she told him, but he wasn't paying attention or didn't hear her) and came to the conclusion that we all conspired to lie to him, or at least deliberately kept the fact from him.
I get the feeling we're creating our own drama by making such a big deal about what to tell my dad and/or how to tell him, and what we keep from him because we know he'll overreact...but the thing is, he DOES overreact. And so we keep some things to ourselves so he doesn't worry so much, but we in turn stress out because we have to dance around our conversations with him. I'd rather be honest with my dad all the way, but I'm not the one who has to live with him when he inevitably overreacts.

Current Thoughts:
~ I got Zelda: Phantom Hourglass today which was really cool of my dad.
~ Went to the doctors office today for my check-up and the cadaver skin placed on my forehead and nose were still in tact with my face pretty well and when the doctor came into the room, he just started to pull off the skin. At first I was really scared and wanted to know why at first that the nurses stressed me to leave the skin on unless it was hanging by a strand and now the doctor was just ripping it off like it was ready to come off. Even though it was ready to come off, it just really got me scared. Now my arms on the other hand...the first one he pulled off my elbow wasn't bad, but then he pulled one off my right wrist and it hurt like hell, and it started to ooze out drops of blood. Ouch. Finally he attempted to pull the last piece of skin off of my left wrist but he didn't because blood started to come out before it was half-way off. "We will just leave that one on, they aren't suppose to be bleeding when the skin comes off" were his exact words.
Aaaugh, I want to go take so many classes, but they all cost money! 
Money I don't have! Even at the local community college, I can only really afford to take one. And they're all pretty superfulous as far as significance to a career track goes.

I think I'll try ballet. That's cheaper than academic classes, and something I can't study on my own. I like dance now, and it makes me feel more happy and confident.

Invest in a spell checker (firefox 2.0 has one built in ) , that's just something superficial though. The spell checker will at least help people figure out what you are trying to say.

With that said, Atomsk, please re-evaluate what and how you've been posting so far. The fact that several members have warned you about spamming and the contents of your posts shows that it's not just one or two people nit-picking at your grammar and spelling.
It's not a crime to have bad grammar and spelling, but it doesn't hurt to try to type coherently. It's hard for people to understand what you're saying when they can't, you know, figure out what you're trying to say. That would explain why people question whether you're actually 27, since most people over 20 (and many younger folks, too) tend to put some effort into communicating their ideas so that others can understand them.
We're not trying to spoil the fun for you, but don't expect us to not say anything about your poorly constructed posts when it's clear you have no respect at all regarding the quality of this forum. We're not writing you off (or judging a book by its cover, in your comparison) just because we can't make sense of your posts, or because you've been posting after every other person with no substantial input--rather, it seems like you are writing us off because you think we're criticizing you when all we're trying to do is give you some advice that will (hopefully) make your stay here even more enjoyable than it currently is. But hiding behind statements like "It's just how I express myself" (or something to that effect)--which is what you seem to be doing so far--doesn't cut it. If you don't put the effort into making yourself understood, we're not going to put the effort into deciphering what you're saying. We want to understand what you're saying, but you need to help us do that by cleaning up your grammar and spelling.
Don't take "Open Chat" too literally. Even Spam Central has its rules. Penny is indeed for whatever thoughts you have at the moment, but in the time that you make 3-4 different posts between other people, you might as well make a longer post to address several people's posts, all at once. It's less clutter and is generally less annoying.
