@ Little Washu -
I highly recommend the manga of D.Gray. It'll start off slightly like Hagaren but it's completely different as the story progresses. But just a warning if you're gonna watch the anime, the studio that did the D.Gray anime butchered it. The series is 1/2 filler targeted towards the 8 - 10 age group. >_>;;

CTs

- ajdfjald;adja;dk I need to buy the Heroes boxed set.
- My eyes hurt.

^I hate when they kill it >.< But I'll make sure to read the manga when I get the money ^^!

~Ed~Fan~- Hello again! =D Well, the anime club here is pretty big, and that really surprised me, because I never really knew any kids in my grade who liked anime.

~*Steel Heart Alchemist: biggrin.gif Well, having a big anime club is awesome. I would just love to be in one. Though the only people that would be in it would be my friends and I tongue.gif. I can't stand everyone else saying that they hate it. Or that they like it but don't want to be called a geek for liking it huh.gif. (I think its the popular kids that are influencing the rest not to like it. And thats sad sleep.gif.) I'm glad you can be in an anime club!

~*Little Washu: Thats a cute name for your rat smile.gif! And I agree, Red Garden is an awesome anime. I never knew what it was about until I got the September edition of Newtype.

-I'm getting a throbbing headache. *Takes Tylenol* <Doesn't work as good as Advil. But I don't have any sad.gif.
-The Cubs won!! (Final score: 5-3) It was such a nerve racking game at the end.
-Oh, I also have to take an ACT test tomorrow. So that means I am leaving work early, yay!!

I had a prophetic dream to help with Margo's job search.

In my dream, you landed a role in a Japanese drama. Except you had to masquerade as a Japanese male. And you were actually really cute. Cuter than the other real Japanese male co-star. laugh.gif Your name was Saito Mai. Eventually, you become a sensation around Japan for some sort of "scandal"; apparently you kissed your co-star. Not sure how that is considered scandalous though. No one knows you're actually an American girl except for your agent and the producer of the TV drama. You almost screwed up when you introduced yourself as Saito Mei. "Er, I mean... Saito Mai." You spoke fluent Japanese too. I was impressed. I wasn't there, but I was having the dream through your point-of-view; however, I still had this omniscient power that a 3rd person narrator would have. Soon after the TV drama ends, you move back to America and continue your life as Margo the American girl, but then Japan goes nuts wondering where their "new teen sensation" disappeared to. You come back and they give you the main role in this horror movie that is supposed to be a huge hit.

Now you know what to do. Go for it!

(My dreams are crazy. I haven't even told y'all about the one where I could magick people's clothes off of them.)

:'D I'm so in love with you and your prophetic dreams. I wonder how I passed for Japanese with blonde hair and green eyes, though. (Actually, that dream sounds like a shoujo manga. And of course, in manga, it's impossible to determine race.)

Eeeh! My kitty is so cute! He is teething, so he likes to chew on my finger, and he loves to stick his face in peoples' shoes. Also, he is fascinated by watching me type, and tries to put his paws on the keyboard while I do it. *snuggles kitty* I'll upload some pictures of him later. smile.gif

You would slick your hair back and wear a black wig. You would also put in dark brown contacts. I have no idea how you got away with the face structure though. I remember being so amazed that you pulled it off. And yeah, shoujo manga galore. Not sure why I had that dream. laugh.gif

For future reference as it might apply to anyone; if you ever get whey protein powder (Protein shake mix), I wouldn't reccomend serving it hot, as heating it makes the whey curdle and go to the top. (Though once you've skimmed and swallowed most of it, the rest becomes bearably hot chocolate-y.

Possible reasons for my headache:
- The manure smell that was lingering around in Chinese school this morning

Thanks all, I can see why 'coloured' would be offensive, especially in terms of America. I just can never decide, to me (but I'm white so I don't count) if I'd have said 'they had different coloured skin' that would be even worse, and the very point I was trying to make was that the people in question stood out in my neighbourhood because they weren't white....'non-white' sounds just as bad. I suppose I just have to mention that some of the most violent racist attacks to happen in a city near me involved no white people at all.

But considering I was talking about a violent pimp who uses immigrant girls in the sex trade and a violent hooker, I don't care if I offend them (I just didn't want to upset anyone else).

Anywho I've found a few more jobs to apply for, which is not easy, it seems the media is one section of the job world that never, ever want graduates, so I'm looking into jobs that have little to do with what I spent 3 years studying. If anything I should be aiming for PR jobs, though I never studied PR, as PR seem to want people who know the media. Silly thing is, the girl I lived with who studied PR never covered media in it.

Celes - you dear thing, Happy Birthday!
Thanks biggrin.gif And it sounds like a serious matter...Those things are always touchy.

Yeah, me too. I decided to watch the DVD that came with it(Thinking it would be stupid) but I ended up loving it. NewType is all to thank for me loving Negima! too.

-Blood+ comes to DVD on Sep 18

I know I can order Red Garden online and get it now, I may do as it caught my interest too, the guy I bought Death Note off recomended it. Still, got Nana to watch as well, and the rest of Ouran High School Host Club

Darn. Amazon.com doesn't say when Blood+ or Red Garden come out on DVD sad.gif.

Use the search bar.
There, two DVD's of Red Garden. Blood+ isn't on DVD yet.
Also check Wikipedia, AnimeNewsNetwork and maybeAnime on DVD.
Little Washu
Is Red Garden a manga too? I know the series is over in Japan and there are a few OVAs and I think a movie that is made/going to be made. I don't like Rachael's nose though. It's weird to see on an anime character like her.

Current thoughts:
-Finished my ACT test in the morning at 9:00. I won't get results back until tomorrow. But I'm not worried cause the score doesn't really matter.
-In cooking/baking class I had to kill a real lobster. It was so sad that I made my friend do it. I couldn't bear killing it, even then eating it.
-The better part of the day was when I got to work in the experiment lab for science. The teachers are always so worried when it comes to us [students] working with chemicals. (I thought one of the teachers was going to faint. She had such a pale face when this new girl in my class was mixing stuff together. And later she started to say out loud "be careful everyone, you wouldn't want to lose a eye". laugh.gif)
-The Cubs have a double-header today. So I will be spending my time watching baseball with my brothers.
-I think the Bears are on tomorrow too *not sure*.

My housemate found a kitten last night and brought her home! ohmy.gif

She slept on my lap as I watched TV. <3

I want to call her Kagami. Even tho Konata is the one with a cat like face....this one's big, wide, slanted eyes make me think more of Kagami. O-o ....But I doubt my housemates will go for that name.

My brother comes home on Tuesday!!! <3 yay, finally!

I KNOW I had that Physics lab SOMEWHERE. But now it's vanished, and I likely will never see it again O_O

Foosh- Awww, cute! You'll have to be careful about getting her bathed and medicated if she's a found cat, though. Yikes.

Today, some pleasant things happened, and some not-so pleasant things happened. ... yeah.

^Yeah, I'm already worrying about that. I have a supscicion I'll be the one paying to get her shots.

I hope she's staying out of trouble. No one is home right now and one of my housemates came by and doesn't know where she is. I think she's just in the basement, she was exploring the steps last night. I just hope she's not getting into trouble down there.

Hmmmmmmmmm....Fushi has a choice to be making. Does she go with trying to be Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas for Halloween and splurge on body paint, (a much more recognizable costume) or does she look into getting a Lucky Star fuku and try to pass off as someone from there (a less recognizable costume, but probably easier to pull off)
(yes, i know I have my Suiseiseki costume, but it needs many modifications and things like a hoop skirt and crinolenne before I'll feel comfortable wearing it. A month and a half won't cut it for me. Plus, I'll REALLY get the stares)

Happy Saturday, everyone!

So folks, if you find yourself staying at someone's house with a large group of people, remember to be courteous. That includes, but is not limited to, the following:

1. When you come in, thank your hosts for hosting you. There are probably a lot of you and only a few of them, so it shouldn't be too much trouble to say hello or thank you once you've dropped off your luggage (which, of course, you had made sure was of a reasonable amount for a trip less than a week long). A little bit of gratitude at the onset goes a long way with their impressions of you. They'll feel better about sharing their home with strangers if you can reassure them that you're decent people.

2. When your hosts are addressing your group, don't start talking with people across the room. Don't even talk to the person next to you. If you must, speak softly. Actually, just don't speak at all unless it's appropriate to do so. But like I said, when your hosts are directly addressing your group, it's definitely not appropriate to do so.

3. If the leader of your group, if it's one of those groups with such a position, sets ground rules, follow them. If your hosts set ground rules, carve them in your heart and think of them as your commandments. It's not that they want to spoil your fun, but when you're at someone else's home, you are not the center of the world, no matter what you usually think. The rules are made so that the experience runs smoothly and so that no one tries to smother people in their sleep. It's a safety measure. You know how your parents might say, "My house, my rules"? It's kinda like that.

4. If you're showering, keep it short. There's probably a line among your groupmates to use the bathroom, and don't forget--your hosts are human, too! They also like good hygiene, and would also appreciate showering after a long day, as well as brushing their teeth before going to bed. Do what you need to do, and get out as soon as you're done. Your skin won't shrivel and flake off in large patches if you don't do a full body moisturizing spa session for one night.

5. Check your area after you use it, be it the bathroom or your sleep area, or even the kitchen. Your parents don't like cleaning up after you. Neither do your hosts. Oh, they'll do some cleaning after you leave, but it's nice if you try to keep their work load at a minimum. You know, to show that you appreciate their hospitality.

6. Keep it down! If they're partying with you, fine. But if they've retired to their rooms and their lights are turned off, chances are they're trying to sleep. Your hosts don't invite people to stay at their homes for a living. They'll have jobs or school to go to during the day, and when they get home, they'll want to get some sleep. It's fine if you're energized, and if the movie you're watching is really good/funny, but goshdarnit, when people want to sleep, they want to sleep! And believe your hosts when they tell you that their downstairs neighbors have a baby. Do you want to be the reason that a baby wakes up and starts wailing?

7. If your hosts are letting you use their room to store luggage, make sure you take out your phone and anything else that might start ringing on its own. Waking your hosts because the alarm on your phone went off is really, really bad.

8. When you leave, make sure you have all your belongings accounted for. Don't leave stuff behind and have your hosts wondering if they should throw your stuff away or burn it as an effigy.

9. No one likes dealing with immature adolescents. Even if you are one, try not to act like it.

10. Be conscious! Your hosts' house probably doesn't look anything like yours, so it's unlikely that you'll forget that you're in someone else's home. Even if they say "Make yourself at home," it's only to be courteous. Return the favor. Don't treat their home like your home, because people let their manners go when they're at home. Be courteous, considerate, and conscious that these people went out of their way to accommodate you as best as they could. The least you can do is act like a responsible adult.

/end rant feebly disguised as advice

...

Last night reminded me of when my dad used to bring his friends over for karaoke nights at our house. The kids would confine ourselves in one of the rooms and read/use the computer/watch TV...but my housemates and I played rummy instead.

I'm looking for a Konata costume for Halloween/I-CON. We found the school uniform online, and my mom thinks it looks cute, which means she might buy it for me. =D (I'll probably have to say 'good-bye' to getting Photoshop for Christmas, but that's fine with me.) I found a $9.99 wig on Amazon.com. It's only elbow-length, but it's better than buying a 48" wig that costs $50.00. Anyone know any good anime costume sites before I purchase this?

I've come to the realization that my mother is indeed bipolar. I told my father today that I didn't feel like going to see relatives today, and was afraid that mom'd get upset at me if I didn't go.

So what happens? She makes me feel like the biggest pile of crap on the face of the known universe.

And after I tried making her feel better when she was down today, too.

I give up. She'll be recieving no more sympathy from me.

I also now regret telling her I liked someone. Not only will she never leave me alone about it now, but I don't think she deserves to know anything about me anymore.

I've decided not to buy a costume after all. I'm going to make my own Akira(from Lucky Star) costume. I'm already making it. Surprisingly, sewing clothing is just as easy as making dolls for me. But I tend to get lazy towards the end of projects and I rush, so I'm taking a quick break from it.

My thoughts:

- That didn't feel like a 4-day weekend at all.
Fushi
Bought the kitty stuff like food and one of those harness things with the bells on them. She's having one hell of time wondering wtf that sound she hears when she walks is.

My housemate (who, btw, was still sleeping when I left the house around an hour ago. Geebus woman how late DID you stay out last night?) can buy her the cat litter. I won't carry that stuff home. She's the one with a car after all. Plus, nothing says "Hey we have a pet we're not supposed to have!" like carrying around a big bag of litter to your door in broad daylight.

And some nice guy who broke up with his wife this morning helped me carry my groceries home. I thought that was sweet. Although he really did go on a long time about things that I would consider too personal to talk about to a stranger, but maybe he just really wanted someone to listen about his problems at that moment and not judge him for it.

And the best part is, he works at the middle school right next to my high school =DDDD

It's definitely very weird, but I'm so happy for him yaaaaay!

Also yay for getting the 24th off for no reason. Teacher workdays are the win.

Oh and on a totally unrelated note, I somehow managed to pull my grade up from a 58 in US History on the first day of school to a 92 O_o

Apparently my housemates are naming the cat 'McLovin''

Uhm....yeah, no.

Ya know, I thought they were joking at first till they actually started calling her by that name. Wtf? I can appreciate the humor in random names like that, but come on. Give the cat a decent name.

In any case, I'm not calling her that. She's going to be Kagami to me.

Also, have these girls never seen a kitten before or something? Yesterday they said she was a 'weird cat' because she was playing all the time.

Um, KITTENS PLAY. LIKE INSANE LITTLE MONKIES. My friend's farm is a literal breeding ground for cats, there's four kittens there right now and they're much more hyperactive than our little runt. Plus, she's an outdoors cat, and it's hard to domesticate those. She's probably just restless and not used to being inside all the time, dummies.
