I said I was in a few writing classes and she vented, "WHY would you want to do WRITING when you could do this?" She asked me what kind of things I write, and I began with "mostly fiction-" and she interrupted, "Ugh, I hate fiction!" .-.
She ranted a while about how she loves such life-like realistic drawings (but drawn with the right kind of pencil; not the 'improper' mechanical pencil I was using) and such, and was generally pleasant, and all her opinionated bitter exclamations were mostly compliments in a roundabout way.
It got me to thinking about how much some people simply like reality and only that, and all that reflects it, directly and literally. My mom is kind of like that; she only likes fiction that's believable and wholly literal, so she can't stand fantasy or sci-fi, or stories with a more elavated difficult narrative style. And most people plainly appreciate a pencil drawing that's done photorealistic, which while stylistically impressive, is essentially the same product a cop machine could do, as opposed to a picture that captures a unique thought, or an unbefore imagined image.
Sometimes I wonder what the hell I'm trying to do with my drawings.

I didn't kill the car engine, the dents and 'injuries' to the car cost 3,000+. Which I thought was a little over the top. Since I had to pay for it all, and the guy that rammed into my car didn't have to pay for anything. I am so sick of being a teenager right about now, I hate all the drama that comes with it, with girls and relationships and all that stuff, its really starting to get on my nerves now. Me, the girl that likes me and some of her friends went to a putt-putt/arcade place and I got a bunch of tickets (we only went there because we were really bored) and they told me to buy her some kind of plastic ring, well I did, and as soon as I did, they took it from me and gave it to her and they told her that it was from me. I think that was a big mistake... the only reason I didn't do that was because I didn't want her friends to think I was some kind of heartless guy or something and now I don't know what the crap to do...[/spoiler]

Went to an awesome sushi place for lunch today...i was a piggie and ate one and a half rolls of sushi, a side salad, and a bowl of miso soup. But the shrimp tempura roll was to die for *drools*
Yaya...another date tomorrow. Nothing like dinner and a movie after a day of fighting in the lab

seventh_sky- No, your parents aren't the only ones. My mom won't even let me on AIM. (but I use AIM anyway) She definitely frowns upon my talking to "Internet strangers". Thoughts:
-So I decided to use my Ps2 for the first time in about 5 months yesterday. I think I Nba Live 07 (which is a terribly unrealistic game) for about 3 hours without saving when it totally froze up. I came back to play again this afternoon for about 4 hours when my Ps2 crashed again...without letting me save first. Seven hours of my life wasted. I think I remember why I haven't played video games in so long...
-My grandparents bought a record player that's able to convert records into cds. I definitely need to make some room in my iPod for the stack of records my sister has in her closet.
