@Fushi- Well, before you already pretty much got answers to your own question, I was going to respond to you just enough to mention that the fanfics section is pretty dead anyhow. That aside, while the community that swarms about the fics section seems to cling to the more vanilla canontastic pairings, I haven't seen any friction arise from pairing wars there. Heck, two years ago I had started (and just as soon abandoned) a fairly long involved shoujo-ai AU story which was quite popular.

I've drifted away from posting in the fanworks section out of habit and embarassment. A- because the old stuff I've posted there sucks and I can't seem to shake the stigma that's only self-seen of being associated with my old crap, and B- because it seems uncool for the old regulars to discuss/be involved in FMA fandom anymore... which is both hilarious and sensible, considering this is an FMA-centric forum. I've also grown a weird sense of shame in general out of the fact that I write fanfics. This is, of course, an entirely social/peer pressure thing, thus it makes no sense for me to give way to it, but that's just how it is.

@ Toby: Yeah, I kinda got the impression that it was rather dead when I went there to post the fic. I'm glad that I did tho: it wasn't just pairing backlash I was scared of but also I was quite insecure and was unsure of the reaction I'd get. It's all positive tho, so I got more confidence. :3

There isn't much of a difference between yaoi and shounen ai btw. There's a common misconception that shounen ai involes little boys and pedophilia. Wrong. That's shouta. Shounen ai, from what I'm been told all these years, is the mild form of yaoi.

That being said, it's easier to just group shounen ai and yaoi as one. Most people know for sure what yaoi is after all.


I learnt about yaoi when I was 12, became a fan at 13. :/ So unless Elise is 10, I don't see her as too young for it.

I never said to use the whole story idea.. take out little bits and pieces of different stories and personalise it..after all, nothing is original.
