I'm under the impression that if they applied to be a dishwasher in the first place instead of applying directly as a waiter, then they most likely prefer dishwashing over serving.

It's the English department at the university. They drill these things into our heads.They can always work their way up, yes. But only if they're motivated enough to adapt to the changing requirements of the new roles they may receive.

I'd have to agree with you. But unfortunately, it's harder to get a job with (just) a Philosophy degree, so I'm opting for an English one. If it makes you feel any better, I'm thinking of Philosophy as a minor.

I'm telling you that english majors can't interpret their way out of a paper bag let alone make it in society. Philosophy is actually a very useful subject in the real world. I have no financial background academically, but I've been able to get financial analysis jobs. The reason is because of the analytic skills I learned in Philosophy.
If I was an English major, I wouldn't be able to do that. I'd be spending my time deconstructing the financials using some phenomenological method or some other such junk

That's ok, I already argue with myself, might as well make it more interesting.
Perhaps I shall look into Philosophy a little bit more, but the trouble is, sometimes I have a hard time with the concepts. The explanation of the concepts anyway. I understand most of the ones I've come across, but I can't explain them. And I take that to mean that maybe I don't understand at all.

My mother and one of my brothers are trilingual as well.

You should look through the little article on Analytic Philosophy in Monty Python. It is all about early 20th century philosophy and I think approachable overall.

I watched American Idol just to see the auditions. Some of the contestants were hilarious, plus Simon Cowell's comments were just so cruel it was side-splittingly funny.
Yeah, AI's pretty funny... I think it's okay... I actually got my dad to watch the whole series!!!
