i firmly believe not all humans are fit to breed. in nature these individuals would have already died, thus no genetic material of theirs would be contributed to the gene pool. but medicine has changed this, so there is only one solution. forced sterilization....

Yes... Genetic testing on humans.. Very contreversial. Would this prevent them for breeding or just do something with their genetic code (not even possible is it?

)
The genetic testing wouldn't do anything to their genes, but I'm very certain that it WOULD prevent a majority of the human race from breeding.

Woh. Well, I don't think they could institute such a thing into law. Too many rights are being trampled on. Hey and you guys call me a utilitarian lol. Look at what you are saying!!! Sorry if this angers you, oh gods of the forum, but doesn't this controdict former statements about utilitarians and how you can't stand them?
Quistis88
Jan 14 2005, 10:28 PM
I never said that I hated utilitarians, really. And this don't-let-the-stupid-people-breed thing could very well be utilitarian in and of itself.
hitokiri
Jan 14 2005, 10:29 PM
i never said i wasn't utilitarian, in fact for the most part i am. actually i have a very simple life motto... "Can I spend it? Can I use it in my everyday life? No? Stop wasting my time then." this is just a general guideline though
Slashrose1010
Jan 14 2005, 10:32 PM
Oh, well in that would you save your daughter or wife thing you guys seemed to be pretty peeved about people being utilitarians
What kind of genetic disadvantages would be put into the category of "Cannot Breed"? I mean if someone had diabetes or something would they not be able to breed or is it for only more severe things like AIDS and stuff like that?

I choose not to believe he is 23. The human race is at stake here. If he were actually that old, then the gutters seem to be getting an awful large helping of crap.
Thoughts:
-The human race is saddening me. Glad there are those of you who stand out though.
-Better sleep on it. I don't think my 11 hours of sleeping until after lunch were enough.

@ Quis: So far, I have "Perish in the Name of Love," "Country Spirits," and I'm working on "Golden Faith" right now. The really really good ones from the old days (most composed by the great late James Wong) my parents already have on multiple albums.

Still searching for more--I really want the one from "Point of No Return."
- In psychology we've just begun the chapter on Personality Theory. I do believe Thunder would be an interesting subject to study.

Ahh, "Country Spirits" is an okay one. The one from "Square Pegs" and "Legal Entanglement" are good (Hacken Lee is in both songs, actually). "Golden Faith" is nice as well.

well basically they pay me to acquire advertising accounts for the NY Times. I have to play the role of the polite asian guy and be all work nice. I do the occasional consulation on the actual design of the ads, less and less nowadays though.

That's a far more interesting job than the one I have, at the very least. Sicks days are a plus, and the money part . . . such is one of the many incentives (if not the one with the highest priority) for every employed person in the world.

Wow, NY Times . . . does it pay well?
