It's something the Asian American Student Association at Stanford organizes where speakers are invited to talk about some of the issues Asian minorities face in America today. There are a bunch of workshops/caucuses that you cn attend, each dealing with a different aspect of the theme. Last year's theme was "Listen to the Silence" -- I got a cool T-shirt out of that.

But it was really cool. Coming from a pretty sheltered area, I didn't know much about what was going on with the Asian American community in general, so it was an eye-opening. Downside: My brother was the head honcho so I was a source of free labor, along with two other brother/sister of members of the AASA. Overally it was a lot of fun. This year, it's on Jan. 22. Drop by if you can--I'm sure you'll come out with a whole different perspective and you'll meet a bunch of cool people, too. Sadly, chances are I can't go this year T_T Blame it on the weather and the fact that my mom doesn't want my brother to pay for my plane tickets and she doesn't want to pay for it, either, and I don't have a job and the weather's crazy right now. Go figure.
That about sums up my thoughts.

- I scanned a sketch at the school library and played with it with PhotoShop at home. It's...okay. I'll scan better ones tomorrow.
- It's nice having the computer room to myself. Too bad a class was in there today.
- I dropped my gloves a total of 3 times within 4 feet of linear space as I was leaving the school library..
- The copy of Hamlet that I ordered came in today. I like it. The cover has a nice texture and it's really light despite 400 pages. Well, it's paperback, but I appreciate light books. It's easier on the back and shoulders (every ounce counts!). Luckily, the book wasn't wet, only a little moist so the pages aren't completely flat, but that's okay. The people who shipped it wrapped it in a layer of plastic wrap, which works, apparently. Good thing it came in today. My Lit class will begin reading it on Thursday. Can't wait! Maybe I should get an early start...hmm...
