I was soooo torn..we have to work in teams of two for one of my classes. And I was torn...i could have either worked with a friend of mine (who is an undergrad, but ive known since i started at this university) or another graduate student (namly the one grad student who is like...totally the best in the ecology and evolution div of our dept). So i was torn...do i forsake my friend for prestige? Do i ask my friend and throw away this opportunity to work with someone who ranks as high as me in the dept?? Do I abandon my friend...?????
I chose my friend...and i just recieved an email from the other grad that i concidered asking...asking me if i wanted to partner with him. I feel....upset now.

Did I make the right choice?
@
Professor Molec - First off, congrat on your successful first day of teaching!!

Now, that's a tough choice!! The opportunity to work with another briliant mind attracts me, but then if the person is someone difficult to work with, that would mar the whole experience... What's your assessment of that grad student on that?? If the person seems to have ok personality to work with, then, since it's still early, me thinks that if you really want to work with that grad student, you maight still be able to switch the partner, by frankly asking your undergrad student to let you go and team with another student??
If I were that undergrad student, I would be honored that you had picked me initially, but I would understand if you'd like to pursue this opportunity to work with another brilliant mind. ... Maybe your friend can understand it, too?? And, then maybe you can make up with some other way??

(Or not.

..Sometimes I feel I should just start throwing stuff out the window. Although I have started a game with my unwanted crap it's called "How long will it stay on the corner"
Oddly enough, my printer was there a whole day before someone grabbed it. The rest of the crap I left went right away however. Just goes to show how valuable electronics are.
@
Mini-san - Hope you don't exhaust youself!! Too bad you don't live on my street... I could use a printer..

I just discovered a spot of kneadable eraser ground into the carpet!

Crapcrapcrapcrap! My stepdad is going to blow a gasket! Defiling his precious carpet is a deadly sin in this household.
@
Toby-chan - Aw... all of a sudden my condition of living in the place with dinky old carpet doesn't seem like such a bad thing...

How long does it take to wash a car? O_o
@
seventh_sky - For me, 10 minutes to one hour depending how hurrying I am.
Or, in a pinch, 5 minutes at the car wash.
