I did laundry today. While I was loading my clothes into the dryer, two guys walked in and announced: "So, who knows how to do laundry?" Of course they pretended that they were joking, but they must have spent five minutes looking at the washers, debating the possible methods of using a washer, and one of them actually called his mom for help, yet they were still befuddled over the miracle that makes your clothes clean and fresh-smelling. It was most difficult not to laugh (aloud), and when I couldn't take it anymore I offered my humble assistance. It was the least I could do for the amusement they supplied.
My hand hurts. I was in the elevator when a girl with a laundry basket was struggling with the main doors to the building, so I ran out to let her in, and I ran back to try to catch the elevator before the doors closed, but my hand got trapped and I couldn't get it out until the girl turned her key to make the doors open. I probably should have just stayed in the elevator and held the "Open Door" button...Silly me.

Never! Pwfff the freshmen 15...thats a joke really. Actually i'm a really active person, just tonight i was turned off of eating because what i was making thats all. And for the lazy part...i get up at 5:30 in the morning every weekday to run/jog for a half hour. I shower and such and go to class. I also lift weights in the afternoon. On the weekends i do a little of everyting and i use the pool. Then i also do random crap with other people, like football and other sports. I do some rollerblading and such. So, i'm an active person. Of coure i do have my down time with people. So a binge of pudding and goldfish; i can afford now and then

I think my roommate came with some preconceptions about dorm life. It didn't help that the room she had toured before was an all-girls miini-suite dorm, which couldn't be more different from the one we're living in--I think the smaller size and the co-edness surprised her, which I would have supposed to be silly, since you'd think one would do some research about the residence hall before applying for it. And she has so much stuff, with plans to add more stuff...and she lives right here in the Bay Area. (Though I must admit, I'm curious as to how she plans to store the next shipment of clothing and accessories, as her closet, drawers, and her half of the closet we share are already full. Did I mention that she plans to bring in a TV? And a DVD player? And the only conceivable place to put them is above the closet, which is currently occupied by 7 shoeboxes?
I am trying to be understanding, but the act of bringing over 11 piars of shoes to school completely boggles my mind.
I do hope that she gets over this high-style living, or else she'll be very unhappy living here.

@Mei Mei-I've just come to the conclusion that some people think that "dorm life" is nothing more than another word for "semester long hotel-like livingquarters". and if they are freshmen and realize that they cant fit all their crap in a double room, they should come to part with their crap on their own. If your roomie is an upperclassman and is doin this...they they are really rude and inconciderate. I say get some duct tape and divide the room...and all of her stuff that you see on your side is getting thrown out. I really hope she doesnt turn out to be a slob...though with all that stuff coming with her...it wouldnt suprise me

So i guess that a purse, a O/N bag and a waterproof backpack isnt THAT much. Granted the backpack has my heavy jacket and ship-riding materials in it.

Hey. I had to pick up and leave really quickly yesterday. I'd thought I was going out of town today, but then I was informed at last minute yesterday that I was going to have to leave, so I had to pack up for the week.
I can't get my laptop connected. Maybe I'll be able to hook it up on the cable here, but I'm not tech-saavy, so I have no idea if that'll work.

In good news, I'm having a good time here with my aunt and three girl-cousins. We went to the local Greek orthodox church's Greek Festival. A crucial discovery was made that Me+Baklava+ice cream = love.
I think my seven year old cousin had a crush on one of the greek dancers. It was so cute. She was saying "Noo, he's just my favorite, cause I like the way he dances!" She was still so excited when he smiled and waved back at her during a song and said goodbye when we left. That meant a lot to her, I think. "Gosh, I didn't think he would also be such a great person!" (He was kind of cute for a fifteen-ish year old.)
I had a long follow-up passage with pictures on the state of the river-fishies, but alas, you are all saved a boring nature-ramble, since I hardly had a moment to write after I came in, after being quickly told to pack up for the week and get going. (But the pictures were cool, even if the water reflected too much to get a clear shot of any fish.)

- English: The professor seems really on top of things, and her slim reader was only $5.38. I managed to find 5 books online for a total of $33.60, and two books I bought at the bookstore for $17.40. Bonus points for inexpensive material.
- Chinese: I was nervous of this one, since it's for native speakers and, well, I'm not one. But the professor seems pretty professional, and she very professionally reassured us that we'd do well as long as we keep up (well, obviously). She has a good sense of humor, and she's using the same textbooks that I used last year, so I don't need to buy any books for this class. Double bonus points for her.
- Astronomy: Huge class, difficult to get in/out. All the material is readily available in the reader and textbook (it better be, for $131.32), and the lectures are webcasted, so attendance is optional (though recommended). The professor seems very personable, and there're so many GSI's, there's no way one isn't available at any given time. And the professor tells "lame" science jokes that are actually...quite funny (to me, at least). Double bonus points. (It would've been triple if the textbook/reader weren't so expensive.

My lack of effect in general whilst having multiple toddlers jumping on my from all sides, bruising me and screaming and giggling their little heads off, is oddly disturbing, even to myself. I've been in such a... chillaxed mode lately that it's kind of creepy. I wonder if this has something to do with the med switch...
