Back before I had a money sucking vortex of doom called my daughter, I used to buy books all the time just to have them. I'd usually thumb through what I could when I could. Otherwise, I just enjoy having them on bookshelves - they look so nice .

Yep, I'm the same as Gashole. If I own the books, I think that I have all the time in the world to get started so they keep getting put off for the next year day.
When I own a book it's like I spent money on it so I'm going to read it. And I really like the books I buy. Even if they are for school.
