I've already mentioned that a little part of me dies whenever people mention that they use youtube for watching anime......
[rant] (<----we need one of these)
When I first started watching anime, the only way to watch it was on expensive laserdiscs, or trading vhs tapes with people....later when anime's digital revolution started, fansubs started showing up in Vivo and Realmedia file types. I can't even begin to express how crappy the image quality was.....if you've ever seen the vhs-ripped versions of rurouni kenshin (in rm format) you'd understand. Fast forward about 8 years...nowadays you get great quality (image-wise) fansubs at high resolutions. Some of these are even straight from a dvd raw. Yet it blows my mind, when people would rather watch their anime:
1) chopped up into 3 different segments (because of youtube's time limit)
2) watch at such a crappy resoultion.
Granted youtube makes it really convienent, but some of the vhs rips i saw back in the 80's were better quality. Meh!

hehe...i'm borrowing this,

Err, i understand what you mean, but at the same time I refuse to pay up the wazzu for dvds, esp when they come out like...once every 2 months. So that is like 4 episodes every 2 months, as opposed to 4 episodes every two hours. And yeah, the crappy resolution really gets to me, but after a few epis, i usually get into the series and dont care about such things.
That being said, i do have a vast amount of anime on dvd...but when there is a show like
Naruto, whbich is OVER 150 freaking episodes....and being on a grad-school level budget, umm...i'll take crappy resolution over using my grocery money to buy a dvd.
But when it comes out in boxed sets...i might concider getting the seasons that i found most enjoyable Normally i would say that i would get all of them,..but there are too many seasons and my purse isnt that heavy...lol
I'm really not done ranting and whatnot...but i have a feeling that it would quickly go off-subject and turn into more whining...so..

*throws fist into the air* VIVE LA YOU-TUBE! hehehe
And now...time for bed! Exit stage left, nite all!
