Omg. My partner informed me that the prof tore our gel! Wtc!
He held it by the corner and said something like "Oh wow, this is actually quite strong. *ripfallsquish*" And to top it all off, the silly DNA didn't even show up. Ah well. =p
Well, I guess it's better that you're proff screwed it up than you guys...so...YAY *pats back* Eh, DNA's tricky...i'd still blame it on your proff and your equiptment... Ailuro
, You're not like....fighting with your proff, are you? A similar event happend to me in general chem lab when i was a UG, but it spawned because my proff had such a bad accent that no one understood him (and it was at 8am) so the class would come to me for help..and on this particular day, i was making Zn something...Cloride, i think...i can;t rememeber..anyway, it look 2 labs and 6 hours of proper measuring and distilling and refluxing and all this crap. And i worked by myself (we weren't allowed partners), and i has a 97% recovery before I did my final pour through my Buchner funnel. And then my proffessor walked over and asked to look at my notebook, which i proudly displayed to him..and he asked to see my flask...which i gave to him..and hi put it on the table...AND SWIPED HIS HAND AGAINST IT SO THAT IT WENT ALL OVER THE COUNTER!!!
and there was purple goo everywhere...and it was contaminated, and my whole project was gone!!! And I looked at him, and he smirked, shrugged his shoulders...and said "do over!
" . So i said "NO! I refuse to redo a project that you spilt, professor
," and I continued...and ended up with a 29% yeild in the end...and in the write up, where it said to name your errors...i named the teacher. He didn;t like me before that...and he HATED me after that....
EDIT: Time for Good News/Bad NewsGood news:
I ended up getting my paper done...and i submitted it before i went to work last nite at 10pmBad News:
Around 1am, I realized that I forgot to write in all of my citations....uhh....that's like...unintentional plagurism...crap
Time to go e-mail the professor....yippie
i can just hear the "grad students don't make these mistakes" speach right now.
grad students DO make these mistakes...when they're running on 3wks of no sleep, and it's because they're overworked--no thanks to you....*coughjerkcough*
