- I just noticed...If I lean over my desk a little farther, I can see a line of pretty lights from across the bay.
- Almost finished with the paper. It's going at a steady pace, and I'm not at all worried about the word count (unless I end up going over). I'm using the strategy where I just move on to another section if I'm stuck. Which means I'll probably be writing the intro last. Which is okay, as long as I get it done.
- I promised myself that if I finish (relatively) early, I can watch last week's Battlestar Galactica tonight. smile.gif

It's definitely not. It's all part of having to clean up what others didn't.

On a good note, I shut down a really stupid consultant recomendation via email, which had a significant number of higher ups in the CC field smile.gif. I hate our current consultants. I've made more advances and recomendations than they have even thought of and they constantly try to steal credit for my work (and the work of others). One of their recomendations was to use a report for a certain situation that has existed for years and everyone has known it existed for years. The reason why no one uses it is because it's broken. So I certainly let them know that smile.gif.

Oh well. For those who can, please have me in your thoughts at 4pm EST as I will be this guy's b*tch again at that time. Fortunately I've got knowledge of OMB circulars and audit consequences to shut him up on some of his more stupid demands. Even he has to yield when his demand could cost the agency $100k in audit fines if caught laugh.gif

- History paper complete! It's about 66 words over the 1000-word limit, though it shouldn't be that big of a problem.

Yeah, so...the RNA gods officially hate me...I've been working off 3 hours (max) of sleep since Sat (i think that's when i was here last), and all i have to show for it is RNA..that i poured my life into...that's contamined with PHENOL!!! Woohoo! Ok, so my RNA is degraded (bad); my professor is Izumi-level disappointed at me because of the RNA problem (very bad...I was trembling and cringing as I walked down the hall to her office...*shudder*); that lab that I was trying to get a job at a few weeks back just called and told me that although I interviewed wonderfully, I have too much experience for the position and having an entry-level person come on with more knowledge than some of the other people who are above me isn't good for the moral of the workers...so they told me that they are going to hold onto my resume for a bit because there are a few positions opening up that they want me to know about ( but i wanted thisone...though i guess i should take it as a compliment rolleyes.gif ) And then I spilt a bunch of carcinogens all over my benchtop (by accident..I was reaching for the pipette tips and i bumped the flask). After all of that, I was too scared to check on my cells, so I rushed home, with a pitstop at Burger King..yumm..nothing like trying to drown your problems with food (thankfully there are still 4 tires on my car).

Current thoughts:
-Why did I even bother to get out of bed this morning?
-Oh look! my chicken nuggets are in the shape of little crowns! how cute *squeel*
-Ack! Oh that's just great! I just broke my straw!

And the days' not even over yet! I shudder to think of what's in store for the rest of the night ph34r.gif

Yeah, I talked of starting it last Saturday, but it didn't actually happen. tongue.gif I had an outline a few days ago, but when I went over the prompt again it didn't fit, so I had to redo everything. Actually I'm glad I did (I mean, aside from getting it RIGHT this time) because it turned out pretty well. At this point, I don't even care what I got on it--I had fun writing it (ohmy.gif) and I'm darn proud! biggrin.gif

I wish I was partnered with Janny, whom I usually partnered with last semester. But she's in a different section. sad.gif

It's a nice day and all, but the sunshiney brightness irritates my eyes. >_<

sad.gif Today I heard from someone I was sort of dating but couldn't see due to his sister being sick. He met somebody online and forgot all about me.

I think I'm going to make some strawberry soju martinis tonight. Maybe I'll make them for my guest tomorrow night if they're good.

smile.gif So I went to console myself at the Asian Pacific Mall during lunch and found the FMA movie, Conqueror of Shambala on DVD for 18 bucks! I know what I'm watching tonight!!

Anti-valentine-ism is a dumb bitter fad, imo. Everyone gripes about it and I'm sick of it. People just getting upset that they don't have a significant other, so they get bitter about a corporate conspiracy day that encourages couples to be pointlessly mushy. If it's another reason I'll have clearance chocolate, then SO FRIKKIN BE IT!

Well, no..but she was soo mad that she had me practically cowering in a corner...I'm telling ya..I stood there and took it, but I would have liked to have had something to hide behind. So when I reprecipitated my RNA, I locked up my lab as quietly as I could, ran down the hall towards the stairwell that was furthest from my proff's office, and booked it to my car as fast as I could. I'm kinda lucky...she has the eyes and ears of a hawk...but she still has my research notes...drat...you know, .I half expected her to open the door of her office while i was trying to sneak down the hall and yell "And just where do you think you're going, Michelle?" with a list of protocols in her hand ph34r.gif

I usually do the same smile.gif But lately all of my girlfriends have boyfriends, which leaves me out here in singlesville by myself this year. But that's ok. I usually wear black...maybe this year I'll go for a more putrid brown...kinda shake things up a bit. laugh.gif Besides, even when I had a bf, I thought that VD was a dumb holiday...just an excuse to have people go out and spend money...I mean, those chocolates that you get in the heart you can get year round in the rectangular box...but you are paying triple for that stupid shape....but whatever
