I understand what you are going through with your day long labs <insert sad violin music here>..but...hey...look on the bright side. When you are a grad student, you can LIVE in your lab...i mean, I have my own little corner, a little cumfy couch that i can sleep on, the key to the showers...and it's all there so that I can work on my stuff and then run to class, and then run to my lab classes (that last all day) or prep for my lab classes (make solutions and whatnot). If only i wasn't required to work, then i would never leave

They want everyone to think that 2.50 is cheap for unleaded gas...but i can still remember a time when i paid 1.29 for a gallon and thought that it was highway robbery.
Yeah...so...in an effort to look cool, I decided to wear my spike heeled boots to my lab today to work on my thesis...because i figured that they looked nice with my outfit and they make that cool *click click* sound in the hall when you walk. Erm..yeah..so..I was prancing down the hall in them, and apparently they dont work well on recently buffed-slick surfaces (just my luck--the janitors decided to buff the 3rd floor last nite)...and...uhh...and i totally biffed it and went crashing into the HUGE windows that overlook the forest. ERm..then i tried to steady myself, and turned around to see a group of other grad students laughing at me.

Yeah, they really do. I have lectures from nine until eleven every morning, sometimes followed by a third lecture. Then we have all the labs; we have two labs every Monday, with the afternoon one lasting for three hours. Out of the five school days this week, I had one of those nightmarish afternoon labs on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. And I also had to squeeze two tutorials in amongst this mess, and had to find time to write two papers for them. It's sheer madness.
Yes, the schedule is almost worse than a day in hell, I gathered. I have a friend in Bio Sciences, and he hates it to bits.

ERm...I'm assuming that's some sort of computer lingo. Uhh...sorry, can't help you there. You see, if I do anything really complicated with a computer, my internal wiring has a meltdown and then I'll have a spontanious human combustion problem to deal with

I thought I'd stuffed a sugar packet into my bra before performance! But no. It was a friikin' SWEET'N'LOW! Argh! I was worried that maybe I'd jinxed us with that slip up. But it turned out nice anyway.
I got a lot of raving reviews. (And last year's seniors came back from college life to see us. Aaah, they're so sweet! I was able to give big sister Kayla a good running glomp from behind)
I kept getting comments like, "Oooh, you're such a good dead body!", "You're such a cute old man!", and even my mother said "It was fun to watch you die!". (How often can you have your mother say that and have it be a good thing?)
Ron told me that my death scene was inspiring.

So after loaning FMA dvd's 1 and 2 to a coworker at work....I think that I just created an FMA fanatic unlike any that I have encountered before in my life. The minute that I walked through the door and mentioned that I had brought 2 more for her, she started chatting non-stop about the show. And when I say "nonstop", I mean from the moment that I got there to the moment that i walked out the door, it was FMA. I think that i created a monster! o_O

The house is so quiet, so empty, and I couldn't be happier. I have fics to write (now I'm on a roll) and episodes of Frasier to watch. My housemates don't find it funny but I care not as they are not around to critisize and stick Friends on instead!

- I was out sick yesterday even though I have so much work to do. I wish I had the chance to get some paperwork from work, but I have enough with me at home to do some work this weekend. I really need to refine my reporting database as others are beginning to use it.
- On Tuesday I have a financial meeting with one of our most well funded doctors. He had $250,000 in cash in a hand made wooden case brought to his office as a donation for one of his funds. It was a nice sight!
- Government funding for cancer research is getting much harder. I'm getting concerned about having to help doctors re-structure their labs to reduce personnel and reduce research. Hopefully new, privately funded sources will increase to make up the funding gap.

Er, 80's, well the 80's over here would mean primary colours (usually blue and green) or big shoulder pads in jackets. The 80's were very big on clothes that didn't fit too well. Oooh lace gloves would be good. And beads, plenty beads.
