Perhaps you are lashing out or perhaps you realize in this day and age a higher education doesnt always equal a better job or life the way it used to and that alot of what you've been taught in school is stuff you could have learned on your own without paying a college.

Maybe I'm being bitter because I have a shit job and a big student loan.

The old ways die hard. It was scary hearing about people with college degrees doing meanial jobs. When I wanted to work for Steinhert aquarium in San Francisco I was told I would have to get a degree in marine biology first. For what? To throw food to fish and clean their tanks and keep them healthy? I've been doing that since I was 7 years old and I didn't have to go to college for it.

What I ment was. I would talk to the other biologists about working there and found that public aquariums don't pay that much even though you need to spend alot of money to get the job.

Ah, I'm really excited about this tutoring program I plan on joining. The info session made it sound like so much fun. Plus, I'd get go to Oakland Chinatown every week and play with elementary school kids. (That's if I don't get stuck with the middle-school/high school sections, which I'd rather not do.)

Random Thoughts of the Day:

-As much as I joke about my age, I've really been feeling it this week. Our schedule has been killer this term, and all of us biologists feel old and tired all the time. You guys should have seen us before our nine o'clock lecture this morning; sprawled out all over the couches in the Zoology building like marionettes with our strings cut. It was just pitiful.

-All the talk about my name meaning "phophetess of doom" brought the "End of the World" flash cartoon to mind. No doubt some of you guys have seen it, but it's still a classic. Oh, man....That thing is filled with bad language, but it still manages to make me laugh every time. I guess that's what happens when a single cartoon makes fun of almost every major country on the planet.

-During dinner last night, I convinced a friend of mine from Poland to come see some episodes of FMA. I have a fansub with me, so I couldn't resist pimping it a bit. Well, we were able to watch the first ten episodes before it got too late. We laughed, we cried, and now Ada wants to see all of it. Score one more for Hagaren. smile.gif

And thus, another FMA junkie was created....way to go, Genesis. That's kinda how a group of us got the rest of our friends hooked on it...there are a few that are being resistant...but they will succumb to the dark side in time..MWahahaha! I mean, you know it's kinda funny when a bunch of college grads go to their jobs (at the theatre) and hook up their laptops backstage and begin to have FMA marathons with the dvd's/fansubs.....it's times like that when I wish i was a theatre major and not a biologist *sigh* laugh.gif

@Smoke: Well, it could be worse. I was asked out by my boss, and when I turned him down he made my life a living hell...and is continuing to do so. But now I just ignore him and treat him like sh*t back. To quote Winry in last weeks FMa episode..."Beauty is such a curse." hehehehe..sorry...couldn't resist, mate happy.gif

Current thoughts:
-the price of gas is KILLING me...$2.59/gallon?!?!?! wtf?!?!

I hate the first week of school. I will full asleep in class I just know it. sad.gif
Today half the belts stop working at work so I had 2 carry boxes of meat around for 2 hours. sad.gif Why must they be so heavy?
Better yet why did I not eat some food at all?

Yeah, they really do. I have lectures from nine until eleven every morning, sometimes followed by a third lecture. Then we have all the labs; we have two labs every Monday, with the afternoon one lasting for three hours. Out of the five school days this week, I had one of those nightmarish afternoon labs on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. And I also had to squeeze two tutorials in amongst this mess, and had to find time to write two papers for them. It's sheer madness.

Thank God it's Friday. That's all I have to say.

(Though I do have to get up early tomorrow morning. Our head tutor scheduled a biology trip to the London museum, so we have to somehow find our own way there before the tour starts. It's going to be carefully controlled chaos, I just know it... dry.gif )
