@Genesis Alchemist: We dissected a frog in middle school. I loved it. My group's specimen was male, so we didn't have to clean out all the ovaries, as another group did. For some reason, I wasn't the slightest bit squeamish, so I did most of the practical parts of the assignment, like cutting him open and handling the organs. 'Twas great fun. We even named him Kermit. happy.gif

I can tell some wacked out dissection stories....but....yeah...i won't..don't wanna give any kiddies nightmares...hehehe laugh.gif

Aww crap....I spent the whole week in lab and I just realized that I totally forgot to bring my suit to the taylor's to get it adjusted and it's too big! Now what am I going to wear to my interview tomorrow? ARGH!

I have to say, it wasn't as gross as you would expect something like that to be. They really don't have much in the way of guts, they're dead so they don't bleed, and (unlike popular belief) the guts don't all come falling out when you cut it open. Vertebrates (including us) have something called the greater and lesser omentum that keeps that from happening. The lesser omentum connects the intestines together so they don't shift around inside you, and the greater omentum is like a fatty apron inside that cushions your organs.

Ohh, I never got to dissect a frog. I really would have liked to.

laugh.gif I remember my first pig dissection. I started a football game with it and got detention. I personally liked the shark dissection the most. I could go on forever about animal dissections. rolleyes.gif

I really want this day to end. The seminars aren't too bad, its the waiting in between. An hour is too short a time to go home and then come back but too long a time to just sit around.

Interview in t-2hours. Then, off to lab for the remainder of the day, and then my job for the remainder of the nite. Blarg...I just got home a few hours ago.....wanna go back to bed!
