back from college visiting in rhode island, yay for my happy sunny warm california.
risd's campus is really nice, except it's on a frigging hill and i'm not sure how i'm going to walk up a 40 degree hill in the winter when it's covered with snow, when i can barely get up it now. sadly, there's pretty much no asian food in providence and there's no time to eat out, so i'll be stuck eating cafeteria food all year (i also saw a bong for the first time, outside of the cafeteria, yay).
basically i'll have to take 5 classes my freshman year, so one class a day. liberal arts is three hours a week, which isn't bad at all, but the three studio classes are drawing, 2D design, and 3D design, and i have to take each one once a week, from 8AM to 5PM (with a lunch break inbetween, how generous).
all my classes start at 8AM, nooo (i have this trouble with waking up in the morning). and if you skip class more than twice, you get kicked out of the school. the dorm rooms are larger than the UC dorms, though, and they're all connected through little passageways to the Met (the cafeteria), so when it snows you don't have to go outside when you want to eat. there's also a mall about 15 minutes walking distance away, not that anyone has time to go shopping. plus, it's right next to Brown University, where i can take classes for credit.
the hairy part would be getting to RI from CA. it's possible to fly to chicago, then to providence, and take the shuttle to the school, but my dad doesn't want me running around in o'hare, so when jetblue flies directly to boston from san jose, my dad wants me to take that. we flew to chicago and boston this time, but then we rented a car and drove an hour to RI. if i'm alone, i'll have to take the bonanza bus to RI, which takes about 1:40, and it drops me off at the kennedy plaza...which means i'll have to drag my luggage for another 15 minutes uphill to my dorm. >_< though american airlines is really stingy when it comes to food and stuff, so i kind of want to fly jetblue.
and i just realized i haven't done my homework and i haven't studied for APs and spring break ends tomorrow and aaagh.
