Here are the fonts that I used and the sizes.
- Impact, 12pt (for headings)
- A.C.M.E. Secret Agent, 7.35pt (used for text)
- Digital Strip, 6pt (for captions)
- A.C.M.E. Secret Agent, variable size (used for speech in bubbles, reisze to fit)
- Vivaldi, 11pt (used for the random quotes outside the boxes, see the left side of pg 12)

All of the above sizes are based on a 650x1040 px scan, and are done in photoshop.

If you don't want to edit, you can send it over to me, and I'll do it.

Photoshop CS (the one that I'm using now) is a 151 MB zipped. Trying to send that by email on a dial-up connection is not a good idea. Do you have any ideas on how can I send it to you? Can you use BT?

I can use BT but... my router sometimes blocks BT pretty well (seriously, I got only 8kb/sec for the FMA movie raw)

Do you know how to use Winrar to break programs in parts? Now most e-mails can send up to 10MB per mail, so if you don't mind sending the photoshop liek 16 times, you can use winRAR to break it down to 10mb/part so that it's sendable thru e-mail? (and you can take your time sending them too... like send one part a day, if you want.)

I've just tried spliting the volumes. For some mysterious reason, the folder kept reverting to "read only", so I can't actually make split volumes out of it. I tried changing unchecking the "read only" box, but it just kept switch back. Got any idea what's wrong here?

Shirokage: Yes. I agree that most of what's in PG1 is pretty outdates... that's why I decided not to buy it because I don't find it having too much of a re-reading value ^^; we pretty much know everything from PG1 already if we paid enough attention to the manga. So imo you should just wrap up whatever funny/omake/interesting stuff that are rarely mentioned in manga... imo a must translate one would be cow-sensei's interview... her working area... mainly stuff from P98 onwards (selectively, of cuz. I wouldn't give a try to the European history part cuz we will have to do our own online research to get the right names and such and... imo that's a pain in the a$$ XD). The "who cried the most" "who was shown the most" sounds pretty funny to me... probably should trans that too?

stuff before P98 (other than the first few pages with the drawing tutorial/poll... which you already did) are pretty basic. Anyone that paid attention to the manga SHOULD KNOW everything within those pages so... I wouldn't bother translating those =\ (you should just finish up the funny parts of PG1 and get on with PG2 xD)

This way, you can save other people's troubles. Don't you know the THE simpliest way of thanking somebody when you are not sure who to thank? just put "Thanks for the translation!" that's good enough since the person who read it would think that it's refering to the translators. I do have the worst tolerance for this kind of stuff. It's ok if people don't thank me, but it's not okay when people are thanking someone else, because that someone else is then taking credits for doing sth that he/she did not do, even tho that someone else never intended to take credits. (I think this is similar plargarism.) How would you feel when you are the person that did chores for your teacher and your teacher instead, thanked the person who didn't help out?

Back to PG1, you said you are interested, but you didn't even bother to read everything from this thread careful enough. How would I know if you really would pay attention to PG1 and PG2 translation then? If you were only interested in seeing what kind of drawings are in PG1, then I don't mind just e-mailing you the raw. It makes life so much easier. If you are only interested in what specific topic they cover in PG1, then I can make a list thingie like I did with PG2, and everyone can decide what is worth translating, what is not worth translating. little note. So far, I spotted about 5 grammar mistakes from the scanslation I made. Probably no one would notice them if I never admited it. (I took in assumption that you are 18 since you didn't publicize your age. If you are actually younger than 18, then I am sorry that I used such an annoying tone.)

Dai is not an imaginary friend, is someone with which I chat by voice chat, don't even assume I will know who do you have as friends and who not just because you can't assume I have one that I talk by voice with. (Like I would know who Dai is? Like I would care who and who in this forum are real/fake siblings?) Oh, and I just read your sig... you said Satsuka is ur little sis, then you should've noticed that I never, ever, chatted with her? (and you probably should know that she does NOT know how to translate Japanese, since she was requesting for translation?) Sorry for assuming that you are younger, because the poll I saw earlier showed that most people from this forum are younger than me. Also, none of my older friends would go "HAHAHA! XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD" without extra comments on why such a "reaction" is needed. (In fact, I only know one older friend that likes FMA as much as I do. Shirokage was only asking me if she should continue to finish up PG1, and I suggested that it's probably better to just finish the later half of PG1, ignore the earlier half (because it's so basic and general, all hagaren fans should know all those info already) and continue on with PG2 with me because it has more updated and diversed information. You thought I was whining about PG1 and no, I am not because I am not responsible of PG1. It's up to Shirokage's decision to whether finish PG1 or not. As regarding PG2, from the start, I never plan to complete it. I only plan to scanlate what I find to be interesting, and if Shirokage is still busy with PG1, I will get hakai-kun to do editing and I will send him translations (because I HATE editing the words into the scans.)

I was kinda thinking of this...

I think mabye the page with the ranking of appearance, anger, and crying is good to scan... it's pretty good. And I think the fans would find surprising of the appearance ranking too.

I don't really think the events and the character guide is good to scan, I mean.. they are like old info... almost everyone knows it. I didn't even like reading those because it was kinda boring reading something you already know far and beyond... The Arakawa-sensei interview and other Arakawa-sensei stuff will be good to post too.

XD *raises arms up in joy* I was trying to explain that the character info in PG1 is useless in my own very weird language and nobody, except for Shirokage, understood me. ;_; You understood. *hugs* cuz even if we translate at a rate of one page per day (translating PG1/PG2 is much harder than translating manga because it's not in a chatting format most of the time... especially the character/plot info part. There are like ESSAYS (ok, I exsagerated.) and it is very diffcult to edit. Moreover, Japanese/Chinese are written vertically most of the time... while English is horizontal. It's especially difficult to edit them when they are... well, timeline is a good example... cuz it's all written vertically. @_@ I still haven't figured out how I should edit that. I am just too happy that you understand the pointlessness of translating the first half of PG1 (I am happy about it even though I am not in charge of PG 1... well, I want Shirokage to get over with PG1 soon, so that she can join in PG2 with me!) I seriously, do NOT want to work on PG2 alone. Makes me feel depressed when people don't comment. (Oh yea, no one commented much on PG2 yet, except for Shirokage. *starts depressing*)

reason why I was screwing up your mind wasn't because you mis-thanked the translator... if you read above in this post, you probably should figure that I totally, OPPOSE the idea of translating the first half of PG1, so subconsciously, I started bombing you. XD Sorry about that, hope no hard feelings o_O; When you were saying that "I want to see all of PG1 cuz I LOVE FMA!!!" um... So I started to think... Let's say... at the rate of one page per day, it will take 7 months per book. There is no way I can get one page a day anyways. Another worry I had was, what if I really do manage to get it all done... let's say what if, within a year, and you guys no longer love FMA? I would feel pretty disppointed (which doesn't get as much popularity as the manga chapters by ZOMGFTA, obviously). Your suggestion of scanlating whole PG1 was horrifying to me xD Hope you weren't too mad. I wasn't even mad over you thanking the wrong person ever since you apologized on the post "oh sorry I didn't notice that it was you!" but the next line you said, "I am interested." I just went all "damn. There are still people that wants the WHOLE PG1?!?!?!" and you instantly became my new punch bag of the month XD

more clarification:
- Even tho, it's up to Shirokaga whether of not PG1 gets fully translated or not, it WILL affect me, as mentioned above. If she is going to translate PG1 fully, then it will delay the time that she will finally be able to help out with PG2 that I am working on... I really want to get most of PG2 scanlated but definately would hate to do it alone. Only one person offered to edit too and he hasn't respond to my PM.
- and your "classes, doujinshi, japanese"... what about me? o_O I want to work on MY classes, doujinshi, and japanese too. (Chemistry 233 = 60% failing rate in UBC, Physics, Biology, Statistics.) Please don't use school/work as excuse. You are not the only one with school. I simply hate it if people use school as an excuse. If you are serious and truly willing to help out, you will manage to squeeze time out to help.

ok, last post on my pointless talk. Next post coming up this weekend: Hagaren Trivia... seriously, did any of you, other than Shirokage, read my scans? =_= If you guys are more intersted in PG1 than PG2 at the time being, then I will stop with PG2 until Shirokage is over with however much she wants to scanslate for PG1. I would love to give more time back to the detective conan forum I moderate. (That forum does have strict rules... Reika, if you made a mistake like that... mis-thank people... it's considered breaking a rule because you did not read the topics and posts careful enough and was making inapproipate response... sorry for shouting. I just got too used to that forum's rule, since that was the first forum I ever spoke in. )

I know the first half of PG1 is pointless b/c I have the PG1 too. I love to help out, but there are three problems.
Number 1: I don't have a scanner
Number 2: Mine is Korean...
Number 3: I can translate, but my English essay writing sucks... (C+ PEOPLE!!)
