i heard it was a very good anime-rpg, but haven't played it yet( no money for gamecube )

haiiiiii!!!yes i was playing, but i plan to stop for awhile.I already beat it once on normal..and man was it easy.The storyline was kinda okay and the characters looked great.The name changes were okay then and there.Great battle system but bad multi-player.Ohhh sheena is soo awesome.

Yep, that's Lloyd. He's cool. Dense as a rock, but cool.

I loooove ToS. The main plot is kinda dry, and the voice acting is all over the place (due to bad directing more than the actors - for example, Scott Menville, who does Lloyd, and Crispin Freeman, who does Regal, are both REALLY GOOD actors in other shows. To say nothing of Kratos, AKA Cameron Freaking Clarke... Ten bucks to the guy who can say who HE is.) But the character development is wonderful, the soundtrack is good, the combat is great (and with two people, the multiplayer can rule too. Put both in control of heavy attackers, like Lloyd + Kratos, Lloyd + Zelos, Presea + Regal, etc. and good times will be had) and the main villain is suitably megalomaniacal. Graphically superior too, the interiors and player models are fantastic. I just wish they could animate the mouths better.

Yep, Lloyd does indeed wear suspenders.

I have about 73 hours put into the game.

When I draw Lloyd, I leave out the suspenders and give him a cape.

In my opinion, the story is pretty good. I wish they had more anime cut scenes, instead of the 3-D ones. The character movements are kinda stale during those times. They only had one Anime cut scene as far as I know, and I loved it.

I had never even noticed that he did.....oh well.I stand by looking at him without them,tends to look better in my eyes.

I had more than 100 including most of the sidequests. I'm on my second round so I can get the Kratos ending.


Um, I thought there were 3/4 anime scenes total. The intro (I still like the original song better -__-), 1 scene at the end of the first disc, or was it 2? And the end.

This game was amazing (just too bad it was fairly simple to beat -- just train enough and you've got it made), gameplay, characters, backgrounds and sidequests. The plot was very satisfying with different endings and so forth. It's quickly climbed to second place in my top ten list: it doesn't beat Final Fantasy VIII but it was a close call.

I got this game yesterday for i'm english and it only came out yesterday. As far as i've got in the game it seems awsome. The graphics are really crisp and the storyline seems good so far. I think it may be the best rpg out on GC at the moment.

However i agree with Omakase Shimasu in that it's not quite Final fantasy although in my book FF VII is top...

I was close to beating Tales of Symphonia after a week of owning it (I had just 3 bosses left). Then I had a freind come over to play co-op on it, and I accidently erased over the file. I was then crazy for a week.

Yep, that way you can enter the Grade Shop and beat the game over and over again.

@Spectrum Alchemist: If I had to compare graphics however, ToS would beat FFVIII hands down.

I also love the way you can change between characters you want to have displayed on your screen. Zelos' nifty trick to get free items is one of my favorites. X3

I like Presea and her kick ass axe.

I like Zelos just because you can get Items.

I like Kratos in the beginning, but then you have the responsibility to heal your allies.

I really enjoyed this game.

I think I didn't raise my characters very high, because it seemed my battles really depended on my combat skill... for example, I battled Abyssion (the devil's arms guy and the hardest boss in the game) at a much lower level than reccomended and won... the fight literally lasted a whole hour though.

Very enjoyable story and characters. I highly reccomend trying it out.

I like this game, but I would like it more if it didn't take so freakin' much from Star Ocean 2. No, not Star Ocean:Til the End of Time, the Ps1 game that had the same type of battle system, realtionship system (except it wasn't rigged towards one charcter like TOS), the chance to communicate with your party with a push of a button, and the Reverse Doll Item.

But I still like this game. Why? Because Cam Freakin' Clarke is in it! (And Zelos is an awesome character)

There's been a rumor going around about an up-coming ToS anime series, but I'm not sure if that's really true or not. I do know another Tales game has been animated, aside from Tales of Destiny/Eternia (?) though.

Hmm, for me, I liked the opening best. Practically the only sequence where you can see Zelos. Well, if you've got the Gamecube version at least. >_> Apparently the PS2 version's got more FMVs, and a whol bunch of other cool extras.

my cousin has the english one for the Gamecube, it's really good and he has the japanese one for the PS2. That one is really good too, because when you beat it you can unlock english mode and play english Tales of Symphonia on the PS2.

that game was fun at first but it got me mad because my stupid brother played it without me so he beat over half the game without my help so i was lost in the story.

The only reason why I think we've got a gamecube is because of Crystal Chronicles ( I bet this sounds so sad )

Some parts were very hard but it was fun.

Tales of Symphonia was pretty good. After all, it uses the same battle system as Star Ocean:Till the end of time. I never beat it though. I just got bored and stopped playing it.

They never named the damn tree!!!!! I listened to the ending three times and never heard a name I even had my friend come over and listen to it and he never heard a name!!!

Despite that and the overly-easy final boss it was an extrodinary game.

They just leave you hanging and then roll the credits it pisses me off.

I didnt like whole idea of human harvesting and that think in his hand. thats why i didnt get into it

but it's not fair i've seen screen shots from the
Japanese version, it is sooooo much better in Japan than
it is in US( i think i will learn Japanese just so i can play that version)
