Hey all. This is my first post. ;^_^> Anyway I download the english virsion of this song last night not knowing Vic M didnt want it distributed. I actually found it by mistake. My question is this. Why doesnt Vic want this passed around? Its such an amazing song and yes I do know that the person who wrote these lyrics was not credited as i read earlier in this topic.

i want to hear vic sing so bad !!!... vic is my favorite voice actor, i want to hear it... is it true? does he really sing? can you buy it? where do you buy it? is it on a website? where? vic may not want people to hear him sing but come on!

Just heard Vic's version the other night and wow! I almost like it more then the russian version (though it still has Vic's version beat since I recognize it from the show). I hear Ed's voice slip through a couple times (while it's Ed's dubbed VA, his singing voice is much different from his acting)!

Vic is very good at everything he does, isn't he? ^^

I would also like to know why Vic doesn't want it distributed. I've heard it – before hearing his request, and even then it's quite hard to resist – and I can't fathom a reason. Despite a few diction issues, his voice is quite good – much better than a lot of the mainstream pop most people put up with these days. So if he's ashamed of his voice, I think he needs to take an Ed Pill and choke it down with some pride. A lot of pride, in fact.



I think the original Russian version has topped Vic's by about one playcount for me. But I get especially gut-wrenched (verb? ) when I hear Ed's actual VA coming through and imagine it and... mmrph, I love this song...

Oh, and to whoever mentioned somewhere at the beginning of this thread that it was sung by two women: more likely, considering the children's choir in the background, it was sung by a couple of choir boys. Before puberty, they can hit those high notes like you can't believe. I'm so jealous. -.- If the age-context of this song is more-or-less right after Ed and Al fail to bring their mother back, the voices fit them quite well. But the deeper VA is still juanderful ^^

So I have a request, perhaps to Tobu – what's the literal translation of the Russian lyrics? And how much are the English lyrics actually based off the translation?

It's definately not that he's ashamed, considering he's released several worship albums of his own. Personally I love his voice and I also downloaded it before I heard he didn't want people to. (Sorry Vic, but even if I did know I would've done it anyway) I absolutely love this song. The Russian version is beautiful but I just think it's so much more meaningful when Vic sings it, since he is the voice of Ed. Would've been cool if Al's VA could've sung Al's part, though. My only disappointment is that in the english version they leave out Al's second verse, which is a shame becuase it's well-written just like the other verses thanks to Tobu Ishi. (Who needs to be credited more than Vic, considering Tobu's the reason he sang it in the first place!)

I e-mailed Vic and asked him. He replied as such:

"The reason I didnt want it distributed is because it is not a licensed piece. I just did it for fun, but it is not a sanctioned recording. I don't want to cause any trouble so I am trying to keep it from getting around too much."

So, no big contraversy, just that...

Al's VA would've made the song horrible, I think. I mean I just don't hear his voice in this song and it still being good. I guess I'm the only one that doesn't really like Al's voice in the dub?

I loved this song so much, Vic has such a wonderful singing voice! Tobu Ishi-san wrote such beautful lyrics, too. As much as I would have liked to hear Aaron Dismuke sing in this song as well, I think its pretty cool that Vic got to sing what was supposed to be Al's part, too!

Hmmm... I wish I could hear it. I like that song alot. Sometimes when I listen to it I feel like crying for some reason. It just sounds so sad, even though I don't know what they are saying.

No, I don`t like dub Al either. He just seems so.. fake.

But yeah.. They so reflect what happened to Ed and Al. Sometimes I almost cry when I listen to them.. That`s how good they are.

the Russian version was amazing, the first few times I heard it, I couldn't help but tear up. Once I heard the English version I cryed for several minutes it was that powerful.

I love that song, I have it in my computer but I'm trying to listen less because it's emotional and makes me love my brother......but I hate him.

I heard this song in english as well, and at first I didn't know it was Vic (Ed's VA) who was singing it...And I was kind of like this person sound just like Edward Elric, then come to think of it's the actual voice actor. I liked it though, and I would loved to hear Al (Aaron) singing it too. But even with Vic just singing it was still cool and yeah pretty emotional too...(lol)

I saw a music video of the song in it, and it was awesome! I do like the russian version: i saw it in "reflections" with subs, and that was the first time reading the lyrics, and i just burst into tears. And I never burst into tears. Seriously.

I think it would have been cool to have Al's voice (though I don't know how good a singer he is), just to have them singing to each other. But Vic told me he just did it for fun, and Al's VA just wasn't around.

I sent Vic an email and he replied promptly. He is a nice guy and cares about his fans. The Brothers song he sung is also awsome. I found it on the internet, along with Nothing I Won't give which are both great songs by Vic. I can't tell you where I got them though.

Well I got "Nothing I Won't Give" from Rrisembool Rangers Site Click on "About Vic" and then scroll down to the bottom of the page where it says "Nothing I Won't Give" And then left click then "save target as" and you're done

The "Far From Home" I got it from Vic's Music Click on "Worship" the left click save target as on "Far From Home" The other song doesn't work.

So there you go!

well.. you can't GET it, but I know where u can listen to it. in the search bar, type in anime_forever_8 on her site is a music blog..thing.. the song is on there. So beautiful. Though I can't have it, it's fun to listen to it. hope that this helps in n e way.

You can listen to the english version of Brothers here, but, sadly, it's only an AMV, so you can't download it. *shrugs*

Yeah, the english version is nice. You can download it from any of those good P2P programs like limewire or whatever. The lyrics in the english translation of that song is defintely stylized though. The actual correct one is different and i kinda like it better since i dont have a hard time accepting or understanding it - must be the spanish in me .

Vic has a good voice, I can't deny that. <3

However, I like the Russian version better. (= I just like the children's voices.
