No, It makes perfect sense. Alphonse is saying that his dreams made him blind again, it is not the first time he has sinned. They [Edward and Alphonse] realize that, though their first attempt to bring back their mother - through human transmutation - was vain, they still continued trying. And you should know, as well as I, that they both realized that what they were doing was foolish to some extent. And you have to listen to the timbre of his voice. There is no 't' sound. It really sounds like andmuu, but if you truly listen it is anew.
Not the first time he sinned? They still continued trying? They only tried to bring their mom back one time and never tried again after that, nor did they try and perform another human transmutation after that either because of what they lost. What on earth are you going on about? Alphonse sinned once and that was trying to bring his mother back. That is Alphonse's part of the song, not Edward's. No it does
not make perfect sense because of the simple fact that Alphonse was never blind before this. He's talking about his dreams of having his mother back. His dreams made him "blind" and "mute" meaning he didn't open his mouth to tell his brother that this was a bad idea, but he was so anxious about having his mother back and longed for it that it made him blind to the consequences and mute meaning he didn't say anything or act out on the feeling because he knew it was forbidden and taboo. He had a bad feeling about the whole thing from the very beginning, but he went along with it anyway because he wanted it so badly. Right after those lyrics Vic sings "I long to return to that time, I followed without a word, my brother the fault is mine"
He's explaining what his dreams did to him and how he wishes he could turn back time so he could have opened his mouth and said something to his older brother before they performed the human transmutation. Since he didn't say anything because he was "blinded and muted" by his desperation for his mother, he blamed himself. Anew makes no sense. Blind and mute makes perfect sense. What you posted up there makes no sense to me either in regards to this song or the human transmutation. The word is "mute" not "anew" Ask the original translator.
Sometimes in songs it doesn't sound that way and as I singer I should know. It does sound like he's singing "muu" but he is infact singing "mute"
