ooh, Au Bon Pain...i bought a pretty damn good sandwich from their store in La Guardia Airport. then again, American Airlines is stingy with free cabin snacks now, and i was starving when i ate it, so maybe it wasn't that good.


i learned (from my dad during dinner) that Merlot generally have more fruity tones than Cabernet Sauvignon do, and that a Cabernet need to be aged longer than a Merlot. for example, a Cabernet Sauvignon from 2002 will probably be more sour than a Merlot from 2002. i also learned that i can pass for 21 at restaurants, whereas my 24-year-old sister still needs to show her ID/have my parents confirm her age with the waiter when ordering wine.

They make excellent sandwiches... but they are so goddamned expensive...
