BTW first post so bear with me smile.gif

saw the movie think it was GREAT (dubbed one)
one question though.........the guy who made the U-Bomb
He seems to be not in this ALCHEMY WORLD
calling alchemist "MYSTICS"
never heard of Automail
"Physicist will lead the enlightened age"
dude Amestris are practically under influenced by Alchemist, as if these guy emerged form his hell hole and said WTF!!! when did mystics took over??!!
and i thought his from outa this world
Petite-Parfait
No. I really don't endorse the creation of a sequel to the movie. The movie served its purpose to end the series, and it did so decently. Not amazingly or well, but decently. The wonderful animation masked the flaws and brittleness of the plot (or lack thereof).

If a sequel were to be created, it'd be more like Fullmetal Nazi Slayer rather than Fullmetal Alchemist.
Vinyl Zen
Vic Mignogna said at a few of the conventions that another season was/is being discussed with the higher-ups in Japan.

Although the movie pretty much tied up all the loose ends and gave a somewhat satisfying conclusion to the series, I'm sure they can make a loophole somewhere. Who knows? I could think of several ways the series could continue. Ed and Al can't use alchemy in the world they are in, but what if someone on the other side could use it and effect their world. The movie left off mentioning the uranium bomb, rocketry and space. The first thing I thought of was time/space compression from Final Fantasy VIII - it wouldn't be a stretch at all if alchemy was the force driving it.

Well if it ever comes out, we'll probably be hitting our heads asking why we didn't think of that!
natsu-hime
@Vinyl
gee, if that's true then i'm hoping they're adding a royXriza wedding to the part of the discussion!
sushyisama
I'm sure they would like to ride the FMA wagon of money by making a new movie...
But I really don't see what kind of storyline they could make; they pretty much seemed to close all holes at the end of the latest movies. And the stories that were left discontinued, well... It's better that way. It allows us more freedom to imagine, and doesn't set things in stone. ...Which is the way it should end.
Ed gets to live with Human!Al for the rest of his life, while having to live away from all of his childhood memories and experiences. It was the kind of bittersweet ending that the series needed. And toying with the ending more isn't going to make things any prettier. =P
The Frozen Alchemist
I dont think so. The homunculi died, Al got his body back, and Ed and Al are reunited. What is there to continue other than making the manga storyline into an anime.
ltrizahawkeye
THERE SHOULD BE CONTINUATION!!!!

the elric brothers has to come back to amestris! iand it so unfair roy and riza get little scenes!!! im sure te roy x riza fans would like to know how their love develops. ( im hoping there will be a wedding)
i also want to see roy become the fuhrer of te country, i think its a about time..

THERE HAS TO BE ONE!!!!!

Good Morning everyoneI´m one of the Brazilian fans, here from São Paulo. My reply is a "yes" based on the current gossip here in São Paulo about a new release of a FMA OVA.Aperently, it´s a synthesis of the hole anime series + the OVA "conqueror of shamballa"...... It whould be called "Reflections Special." With the story beeing telled in the voices of "invy" and "Roy" laugh.gif !But here in Brazil it is very hard to gather solid info on any anime...... So i was wondering if anybody here knows something...... I´m sorry if this is a repited topic..... Didn´t find any one related..... And i´m new here too...... First post !Sorry about any grammar erros, my English got a little rusty after i came back from the USThanks a Bunch !!Gozaru !!!Sephiroth07Damn !I googled it after i posted and found out that "Reflections Special" came before ......Too bad...... Does there existe a movement made by fans to press the FMA staff to make another one ?I´m personally kinda a happy with the series and OVA, but would love to see another one !!Arrivedercci !!
Edamame
Welcome to the board Sephiroth7. The Fullmetal Alchemist Reflections Special is not an actual episode of the Fullmetal Alchemist series. (I believe it was first shown in Japan for the Fullmetal Alchemist Festival in Tokyo and Osaka back in 2004. )Instead the Reflections Special is a fifty-five minute "recap" of the entire Fullmetal Alchemist series. The Reflections Special shows scenes from Edward and Alphonse's human transmutation in chronological order, the death of Maes Hugehs, Ed's fight against Greed, and other main highlights from the series. It really is nothing that special. It is a nice thing to watch before seeing "Conquerour of Shamballa", so that you remember some of the most important parts of the show. If you type "Fullmetal Alchemist Reflections Special" into the Google search engine, I am sure that you shall find it online.
sephiroth07
Thanks Edamame.

Too bad..... I maneged to watch it and found it to be a very good chance to understand the series ! But does anyone know about a move made by fans to ask (and press) the FMA staff and studio for another closure ? Down here there´s a "list" that fans are signing to send to Japan asking for a new OVA.... Looks like it already has over 3500 signatures !!! Once it´s hits 5000 it´s going !! It´s similar to what Evangelion fans did to get "End of Evangelion"..... A OVA asked by fans.... Although it sucked too .....
anyway thanks again !

Valeu !!

Ok, i know this IS NOT going to happen, but who else thinks it would be cool if there was a sequel or more series that continue off from the movie, there wouldnt be much alchemy involved, probably none at all... and it would be on earth but i would like to watch the adventures of Ed and Al on earth and watch them follow their new goal... perhaphs someday they could get back to amestris... i don't think they should by rocket as if it is a parralel world this wouldnt be possible and even if not, it would ruin the series... Post your comments and opinions please, even if you think its not such a good idea
Mimori
I was feeling they should make another movie even though it is highly unlikely. It feels like a dry ending, because out of all the trouble they came to 'our' world. When they rightfully belong in their's. Especially because Ed has not fallen in love and neither has his brother....That disturbs me. Plus, I don't think they could cope with out being labeled clinical insane. I feel really bad about the ending the movie, I seriously hope they make a sequel.
Hajime_Yukimura
In my own Opinion, I think there is a good chance that they might produce a sequel at some point.
My reasoning for this is that they did leave the film open ended in a way.
As many have pointed out, there still are some interesting questions that have not been resolved, just like at the end of the anime.
The only hold up would be an audience, but i really find it hard to believe that that would be too much of a problem.
ladykylie
i can be pretty sure its a 'no'. many main characters already dead, they WANT to ended this anime. if they start again probably would be crap. I keep the good memories of anime and chase the comic instead.
natsu-hime
my intuition still say the same thing: there will be a sequel AFTER the manga ends. then the anime storymakers can do whatever they want without fearing that they'll crash on the manga with arakawa.
ladykylie
this is possible too! but defo not NOW
Bramblefox
I'm a little torn, but in the end I chose 'no'. Because it really wouldn't be 'Fullmetal ALCHEMIST' anymore, ya know? And even if there are characters on Earth that resemble the characters in Artemis, it just wouldn't be the same at all. On the other hand it would be interesting to see what happens with WW2 and all that--however, I would be afraid that they'd totally ruin the flavor of the story. If you'll note, the movie had much less humor than the anime series, and the 'bad guy' wasn't very well done. An evil lady wanting to destroy some world that she fears? Okay...but she wasn't near as sinister as the Homonculi and Dante. I liked the movie, don't get me wrong, but I don't think a sequel to the movie is in the best interests of the story overall.
Teddikillla
I say yes,, because they may end up finding a way back to their old world and do alchemy again.. but ed for some reson doesn't want to go back, so im not sure
Forgiven
I think they should considering it ended kinda on a cliffhanger. I mean, wtf happened to Mustang? Did he just poof away into a non-existent world or something? But we also gotta remember that the movie ended where Ed and Al couldn't come back. Which is kinda depressing. But it was still a good movie. Maybe they might make a movie for the Manga. huh.gif

Making a movie from the Manga series coming out would make more sense.

I am still one that feels that the anime series went in a screwy direction the last 10 episodes and it took the movie to clear up some of it, but definitely not all of the series' questions.

I think that they should not make a sequel and let that "non-manga" story end.

However, if they want to make more money, anything is possible.
Faithmemory
hmm~ I think they should make the continuation.. I was left hanging by the "how will they close the gate when they can't use Alchemy on that side of the world" -___- Even though, they left their world and winry and friends behind, I still would want them to reunited with everyone, though it may really spoiled the drama..

but still I LOVE THE MOVIE!! XD
alchemist 00
do you think that there is going to be a second full metal alchemist movie?
Alfie
I hope they do! I would definitely watch it, but I can't think of anything they could possibly make the movie about.

The Ishbal conflict! They should take those chapters from the manga and make a full-length movie of it.

I could see the last scene being either the Fuhrer looking down to see Roy's determined face look up at him or a soldier knocking at the Rockbell house to deliver the news of Winry's parent's deaths (not in the manga, but that would be a great additional scene).

Obviously, this would be a "Brotherhood" movie.

With each advanced ticket order, a State Alchemist wrist watch!
Sword Alchemist
I hope they don't do another movie. Not after that disaster called Conquer of Shamballa.

I thought it was a pretty fun film, though hardly necessary.
animechOcO24
I wish there was a sequel, but I don't think they would make one. sad.gif I thought there would be a sequel after I watched the OVA "Kids". Until Brotherhood came out......Oh well, Brotherhood is great anyway 'cuz they're gonna follow the manga this time. Although, i think in the near future, they're gonna another whoe new movie of FMA. biggrin.gif

I dunno if you guys saw my reply in teh summary section, but I don't necessarily think that there will be a SEQUEL. What I would LIKE to be done, is Studio Bones redo FMA like 5 years down the road, and actually follow the manga storyline. Ptf, Hellsing's doing it, so FMA should too. O_<

Yeah, you might not be here anymore...

But goodness, you must be psychic! laugh.gif
Makika
Hum.. Yeah, for take away the bad impression of this last (and single) movie.

But have to be a movie follow the storyline of this second season anime, or just a movie with some omakes together, or some history what don't affect the anime history line, like Naruto's or Bleach's films. biggrin.gif
FullMetalFist
They probably will do that a little. It will probably be kept in the series though, I do not think they would bother with another movie at this point. You are talking about a story arc correct.
EniviD EiraM
Produce a movie ?? puh--leezzzz ... Create the new series instead ! wink.gif

shanryelric
this is an old, old, OLD thing, but I think it's good if the produce the sequel, or prequel. nah, I want a sequel instead. no, no action or anything, just a plain movie about the post CoS. what happened in Ed's life, Al's life, Roy's life, Winry's life when Ed and Al gone forever. from the first time the CoS ended until the WW2 and about ed and al's relationship on girls and how life goes on after that. when ed has children, when roy became fuhrer, when winry has husband.. etc.. ; w ; aaaaa i want it naooo
lunneth
HELL YES. i would want it to be a stand alone on the end of the manga though. i wouldn't want brotherhood to end on a cliff hanger that would be fulfilled by a film.
shanryelric
^hell yes. that's right. NO MORE CLIFFHANGER NOR BAD ENDING.
Disasterpiece
no. no no no no nazis or airplanes like the first one please laugh.gif

@fmaexpert - Nah, let's not spread rumors with unsubstantiated/unconfirm-able info like that on our site. smile.gif
But, if you would like to see the FMA:Brotherhood movie, we'd love to hear your thoughts. ^^ (Although, maybe we should open up a separate thread for that in FMA:Brotherhood anime forum, and keep this thread for FMA-1 movie discussions? If we do, we'll move thr posts to the new thread then. ^^)
Havanese
No, they shouldn't. I think it would be completely unnecessary.

Ishval war movie!!!! Something revolving around the military characters! XD I love them all so much. I'd be happy with a movie like that. ^_~

I said no no no period. I dont think they should make a new movie all together, but should re-do the ending. I LOVE everything but the ending. its so sad and I feel really sorry for winry and there's a simple solution. they did NOT have to stay in germany. here's the simple steps of how they could stay on the alchemy side of the gate!:

1. al posses a metal suit of armor.
2. al sends that metal suit of armor over to germany.
3. the suit of armor closes the gate on the germany side.
4. al unposses the armor.
5. al's soul returns to his body.
6. ed and al close the gate on their side.

its so simple how did Bones miss that!!!!???
ed and al didn't have to stay at germany =/
Full Metal SHORTY!!!
They should definitely make a new movie! That would be truly amazing! I would scream with happiness!!

Wow, You did it! Now off to show the idea to Bones! biggrin.gif I mean, when you really think of it, the movie and the whole gate system is very simple. In anime one, there is no Truth yearning for pays and stuff. That's amazing!

Yeah, I kept wondering that too. Maybe they used guns and those rockets Ed was building. Or maybe thye realized the same thing you did and just covered the gate with a cloth and walked away wistling, pretending that nothing happened. wink.gif

I actually would've loved an ishbal civil war movie, or mabey even something like some of ed and al's earlier searches, after all we never did get to see anything from like when ed was just 13 or 14. in fact go read this fanfiction and say you wouldn't love to see it as a movie. I would have LOVED it if they had
here's the link guys: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3027907/1/%3Cb...ghtmare%3C_b%3E

Most likely the only thing they can do for a second FMA1 movie is... broadcast the time AL had spent as an alchemist and Edwards time in Londen, but what's the use? Both would be separated during the complete movie, Edward would be living a boring life learning... technical stuff.. and Alhponse would be using alchemy all by himself =.=;
Those two belong together, I wouldn't want to see a movie with them separated the entire time, or them ending up separated.

I was happy with the first ending because it was so imperfect. Animes with all happy endings and everyone happy give me a feeling as if something is missing. With the FMA1 ending I felt it was complete, them being together was all that mattered.

If they were to make a second FMA1 movie about them wanting to go back to their world there's a big chance I'll get that "incomplete feeling" in case the movie ends with everything perfect.

Besides, the fact that they came to "our" world gives little children hope, they'll be more likely to believe FMA really exists like Santaclaus. How else would there story be known in our world other then them bringing out a book?

The FMA1 series and final movie filled my heart with so many feelings I can't describe, it was very satisfying.

I simply thought the ending in brotherhood was cheap. I liked it, everything was great, but it was very cheap and gave me an incomplete feeling.
