Chiyo: Ed's birthday : Feb 13, Riza's feb: 5, Winry: April 1st... I'll add the other dates later(meaning after i go through everything again 'cause i just skimmed through it.. xDD)

From my study of the anime, it seems that Ed's birthday is on October 7th.

October 3rd, 1910: Ed and Al burn down the family home, as they start their journey to become State Alchemists.
October 4th, 1910: Ed and Al take a train, which leads them to the home of Majhal.
October 5th. 1910: Majhal defeats the “dead” person that has been attacking the village. Ed and Al later find his secret dolls, which causes him to try and kill Ed. He ends up being impaled with his own sword, even refusing to believe that the wrinkled old woman “Lebi” is his one true love Karin before his death.
October 6th, 1910: Ed and Al depart for Central. They end up on the same train as the villain named Bard. Later that day, after Bard’s defeat, Mustang has the Elric Brothers stay with Shou Tucker, the Sewing Life Alchemist, to study for the State Alchemist exam.
October 7th, 1910: Hughes arrives at the Tucker residence to remind Ed that it is his 12th birthday. He invites Ed over to his house, and they have a party. As the party ends, Gracia suddenly finds that she is in labor. With the help of Ed and Al, Gracia gives birth to Elysia.

And that's my timeline! >_<

Actually.....it's somewhere in December, 1989...lots of people think it's January, early, February 1899, but no one knows exactly they date. Only Arakawa-sensei knows...why isn't she revealing the dates??

Also, the manga and anime are different, which means Ed might not even be a Winter baby in the former.

What we know is he's 150cm (about 4'11-5'0) naturally, or 165cm if you count boots and antena. He seems to have grown in the manga, though.

first, about Al's birthdate, if Al is born on the 30th of December... then Al's birthdate will be the just before my big sister's!!!!
I wish a FMA character would be born in August... Because I'm born in August too...

secondly, about Ed's birthdate...
If Ed was to be born in Feb then he would be really unlucky...

I do know that the only clue to Ed in jan/feb is the snow melted not long after at tuckers house.

It snowed for Elysia's birth but when Winry takes Gracia's cake to ed its all warm and sunny out. November (middle) has snow (if cold/north enough) but has warm sunny days too! he fits a scorpio almost perfectly.

He also *shudders at thought* could be an aries. Like early march, snow melts and it rains alot ect. I don't think he is though! he's not a bastered towards scorpios like most aries are! he's no tarus, thats for sure.

Hmm … weather is a good catch. The clues from the anime that I can help narrow it down is …

1) Oct 10th when they burned down their house and headed out to meet Mustang.
2) On the episode “Man with the mechanical arm” Riza yells at Hughes “Babies aren’t born just after five months!” (That is if the dubbed version is to be believed … we know they never change stuff )
3) On the actual birth episode it seems Elysia might have come a little early, maybe a week.

So adding four months onto October we come to mid-February, my totally random guess is Feb 14th – Valentine’s Baby ~ K

Surprisingly, not too many Leos I know are like what they are supposed to be. The two Leos I know are like Alphonse: kind and gentle xD Gentle lions, hah! 'Sides, Ed's smart enough to be a capricorn. One of the replies on there says: "He's just very... Capricorn-ish. Steady climing towards goals, stubborness, likes to ram his head against things, figuratively and literally (GOAT!)" xD That's Edward alright! Now that you mention the question, it brings me back to differences between teh manga and anime In the anime, the time is around the turn of the century 1910 - 1920s (when the story is set in) and ed's birth year is in 1899 or something. But are there actually official sources indicating it's the same for the manga? I mean, I look at the clothes/fashion and what everyone wears and everything looks very modern Granted the anime has the same sort of fashion since it's taken from the manga, but the anime officially indicated the year everything is in and I don't know if that has been with the manga.

Well, according to the Serpent's Cross website, from looking at Ed's pocket watch, you can figure out what year they were born in. Edward is supposedly born in 1899 and Al is supposedly born in 1900, which makes Ed a boar and Al a rat.

Boars are supposedly like this:

Following on from that, Al's birthday has to be between Ed's birthday and February. His age is given as ten in February 1910, and Ed is eleven. But later in the series, after Ed's 16th birthday, he's asked how old he is, and he says he's 14. So his birthday is after Ed's.

(Manga-wise, I don't remember there being any such definite dates to work off/be restricted by. Or maybe I just haven't noticed. I've only read the manga once through.)

I'd personally put Ed's birthday between November 30 to December 17, making his astronomical zodiac sign Ophiuchus, the Serpent Bearer. Ophiuchus represents the mythical Greek healer Asclepius, who was killed by Zeus as "punishment for violating the natural order of the world by bringing the dead back to life". Asclepius' rod is also resembles (and is often confused with) the Caduceus, from which the Flamel symbol originates.

I heart astrology, and judging from zodiac personalities, I'd say Ed is an Aries. No doubt. That's March-April.

In vol 12, Arakawa-sensei metioned that Ed's birthday is somewhere in the winter. Personally, I think Ed would be somewhere in December (1898 mostly I like to think). Also, Al would be January - February b/c if you see the anime, when they performed human transmution, Al was 10 and the date said, February, 1910.

Leos come from the house of hospitality. They may be a fire sign, but they really want their loved ones happy. They aren't very firey until someone tries to hurt the ones they love.



I think Ed's an Aries. You said the Capricorn goat-ramming thing was Ed, but ramming into things is a trait of Aries. The Aries ram.

Capricorn and Aries are both cardinal signs(active do-ers), but the difference is allll in the elements.

One of the theories made in that other topic...and I would like to point out that I know an Ed who's birthday is Feb 15th and he is quite like Edward Elric so perhaps he could be Aquarius. Then again that would put my birthday the day after Winrys too.

Eh? That's not true...I'm a Sag and I'm extremely focused on my goals(hehe...my lack of a decent social life is testament to that).......and I always move towads and am open to new ideas (astrology isn't always black and white). I think that Ed's birthday is somewhere in Novmeber...because the snow was melting outside of the house...and if the weather is anything like it is up here in the east, you can get freak snowstorms and have them melt soon after in the fall.

I don't think you can go by the weather too much as they are meant to be in an 'Europe' type setting. The weather in Europe is all over the place, it snows rarely here but then snows heavily in places directly east of us.

Just because you're focused isn't owed to your star sign. I am a Sagittarius, but I'm born under an Aries moon, so I'm always up for a challenge and I have a bit more focus than other Sag's.

A lot of times people think astrology is wrong because one trait isn't according to their sun sign, but there are several other factors in astrology. However, sun signs are easiest to figure out and have a better generalization.
